~ LAST CHAPTER ~ 

 flashback ~ 2 years ago 

" i'm sorry for taking up of your time , apoji " i voiced with a muffled tone unable to meet seohyun's father gaze , i didn't know how much did he know about seohyun or my relationship with her .. but for sure he knew about her running away from korea 

seohyun's father drank his tea calmly waiting for my next words " talk "

i tightened my hands into 
fists nervously under the table and raised my glance cautiously meeting his relaxed eyes as i asked " where can i find juhyun ? " 

silence stretched as seohyun's father sipped his tea ignoring the direct question 

my throat cracked in dryness as i went through confusion hell , i had no idea why was he acting that cold toward me 

" i'm the reason she left , i can bring her back " i said determined , i knew that i was revealing the awful truth by the moment , neverthless , his expression didn't change 

he placed the tea on the table before he shifts his sharp gaze to me 

" uri juhyun isn't the type to run away because she's afraid from a man , she had something to protect that's why she chose to leave " 

although he replied confidently but i felt the sadness in his eyes , his daughter leaving must be painful for him too

" i'm aware she left to protect ...something , but i really think i should be there with her , i truly love her and i know she loves me too "

" if juhyun is willing to stay away from here , i'll help her no matter what were her reasons " he said and continued " she's my only daughter , the one i'm living this life to protect unconditionally .. even if she made a wrong choice , even if she regret this later , i'll be there for her " 

i stared at him for several moments and felt his pain , he wants her back too .. we're just similar somehow 

i bowed on the floor deeply " i'm really sorry , i gave her a hard time .. i know i did .. but could you tell me where can i find her ?? " 

" i'm sure she's sorry too " he let out a heavy sigh as he murmured " for taking your chance away " 

i rose my head looking at her father pleading " apoji , i need her .. i can't live without her .. i'll tell her the whole truth this time , i'll tell her how much i love her and i'll solve any misunderstanding , just .. please .. help me " 

my tears ran down my cheeks as i looked at her father pleading , he was the only one who could end my misery .. 

" life is complicated , when you lose something along the way ; you have just to keep going on , cause life will never stop for you to pick up what you already lost ! " he said calmly 

 i clinched my teeth angry at his words , he didn't understand .. i'll never give up ! i could never move on .. not even in a hundred years 

i looked at him with a fully determined eyes " even if you don't help , i'll find her soon and bring her back ! i'll make her happy this time .. i swear "

the present ~ 

i closed my eyes and muted my busy brain and just felt that tight hug relaxing my whole body , awaking my heart with those forceful beats which has always been made especially for him ..

between his arms , everything was so familiar; his firm hands , his scent , the feeling of his back muscles under my trembling fingers - as if being home after a really long tiring trip 

i felt his warm breathing as he buried his face into my neck kink murmuring " i've been missing this kind of yonghwa for a really looooong time , a yonghwa that exists only between your arms " 

my heart painfully stung with love as i clutched my hands into his shirt shamelessly , did i ever stop loving him ? or do i fall for him every single time ! it was a little unfair how my story never goes on , how my heart doesn't beat except for him 

he retreated back slightly to gaze at my eyes - my eyes that couldn't hide the truth and exposed me daringly , confessing a thousands time a moment -

gazing at him for a several moments , i waited patiently for his surrender or reckless confession .. 

his hand slid ever so slowly on my arm in a light brush that sent electricity through my whole body , his lips parted slightly to say his word and my heart stopped beating for a moment in anticipation 

" uri yonghyun ... she's waiting for us " 
his rusty voice broke my every reckless thought , i shut my eyes momentary to gulp my disappointment , catching up with reality again .. 

as if god gave me another chance to get my mind back .. what was i thinking ! i couldn't believe i almost abandoned my whole history for a moment ! who would ever believe that just a moment ago - i was willing to start all over again with him for the third or even for the thousand time ! 

i builded up a lot of expectations for a mere friendly hug and now i'm a real fool with a stinging lonely heart .. i never learn from my past do i ?! 

i should have just appreciated that friendly hug as it is , at least he's thankful now ..

thinking about every possible warming thought , i managed to pull my lips into a cheerful smile " yeah she's waiting , let's go " 

" or she could wait a little longer "  he said his word and i didn't get the chance to be shocked as my lips were rewarded instantly with a kiss

 " uri yonghyun ... she's waiting for us " 

yonghwa thought he already managed himself and stopped every reckless thought when he used yonghyun as distraction so he would have the chance to let go of seohyun 

seohyun slightly rose her chin to gaze at him with a gergeous pair of sparkling eyes ! her slightly parted cute lips tinging and glittering and somehow asking for attention - the way her deep gaze clang to his - made him a little closer to insanity .. his heart raced again as the fact that he really loved her nudged him

he went and sealed his lips on her soft lips without another moment of hesitation , gently smoothly a kiss for several seconds ! several seconds of definite pleasure .. 

it haunted him for days that he really wanted to kiss those lips !
 he would wake up in the middle of night picturing her warm eyes and bright smile and gets severely frustrated over it 

and now keeping his hands off when she's being this warm and smiling this brightly at him was beyond impossible , she deserved nothing but a kiss on her lips ..

he was aware he'll have a lot of explanation to do later and it could get complicated again , she could hate him or she could even run again somewhere in the world but it didn't all matter .. for a moment it didn't all matter 

minhyuk and yuri were right there in front of yonghwa's apartment, when the door was wide open revealing the passionate couple kissing .. 

they predicted seohyun would come back to check on yonghwa , but when seohyun was late too they had to come to check out on them both .. 

however , they never imagined they would witness such a scene ! 

yonghwa wrapping his arms around seohyun's waist and kissing her , nothing else to mention yet it looked as passionate as a heavy making session ..  

watching it was enough to make minhyuk and yuri's hair stand with goosebumps , their cheeks flushed in embarrassment as they wanted to run for their life and sanity , yet it was harder to move a muscle after what they just saw ! 

they stared at the couple satisfying their awaken ert souls , until they sensed the elevator door sliding close again so they hurried to stop it from going anywhere .. 
thankfully they managed to catch up with the elevator and went inside escaping what they considered as a rated scene

what a pity ~ minhyuk and yuri thought in sync before they sigh simultaneously .. 

yuri pointed at minhyuk accusing him in a shock " you knew they were already dating ? " 

" no ! i never knew , i swear " minhyuk denied vigorously

yuri frowned in confusion " if they are already together ! why did they keep it from us !!! " 

minhyuk thought seriously about it , he was confused as much as yuri " maybe they were afraid we would go against it " 

 " since yonghwa and seohyun want to keep it down from us , we should keep the secret until they reveal it " 

" yes , what we saw just now -we really have to keep the secret " minhyuk nodded seriously 

" i'll never ever tell anyone " 

" i'll never ever tell anyone too " 

minhyuk and yuri nodded to each other firmly sealing the promise with their life 

~ moments later ~ 

" they were kissing passionately as if it was the end of the world ! " yuri whispered as she gathered all SNSD members in a gossip meeting ..

" maknae never said a word ! how sneaky " tiffany frowned 

" but she defended him earlier , remember the marriage talk " taeyeon reminded them and they all nodded in approval 

sunny pouted " that's why she looked so bright these days ! she was in love ! " 

" juhyun is truly living her life to the fullest " hyoyeon shouted in envy and the girls hushed her vigorously 

" girls , you have to keep the secret " yuri asked the girls worried as she catiously glanced CNBLUE boys at the other end of the room 

yoona nodded " don't worry , we'll never tell .. arghhh although it's really awkward to face yonghwa and seohyun now ! i can't help but to imagine things !!! " 

" yaah ! you're such a ert ! "  sooyoung teased and yoona blushed 

tiffany talked seriously " i'm thankful they got back together , yonghyun deserves a happy family with her both parents showering her with love , i don't think seohyun would have ever found a man that will love yonghyun as much as her real father do "

" guys , we really have to keep the secret ! " minhyuk seriously pleaded to jonghyun and jungshin and they all nodded 

" maybe they're living together already " jonghyun smirked 

" seriously they're dragging the birthday exhausting the little girl , yet they were busy with ... other things " jungshin crossed his arms in annoyance 

" all kind of parents exists " jonghyun remarked

minhyuk smiled warmly when he recalled the shocking incident " i'm really happy for hyung , finally it's all getting better for him .. he suffered a lot so i hope he'll get to protect his own family this time and live happily ever after " 

" yongseo yeongwraaa *forever* " jonghyun chanted and jungshin joined " yeonwraaaa " 

the boys laughed out loud until they froze hearing seohyun's father voicing his impatience 
 " so where's juhyun~ah ! it's getting late " 

" she was here a while ago , i wonder where did she go " seohyun's omma voiced her worries too 

the boys and the girls sent each a low level glances , heart broken for the worried clueless parents 

" actually she's with her sweet hea... " yuri was going to reveal it all when sooyoung shut with her palm instead ! 

" ahahaha !! where is seohyun ? who knows " sooyoung laughed it out as a joke 

seohyun's mother thought about it seriously " mmm .. maybe she's out to buy something " 

" no , she's in the building " minhyuk replied casually before he gasps in a shock at his own tongue slip 

" she's in the building ?!! " seohyun's mother echoed in confusion 

" minhyuk meant she surely would be AROUND the building , why would she go far away if we have an ongoing birthday party in the moment ha ha ha " jonghyun reasoned as a cover up for minhyuk , ending his speech with a dazzling smile so seohyun's mom calmed down again and reached for yonghyun 

" are you hungry , yonghyun~ah ? " 

yonghyun shook her head yawning 

" ommo ! don't sleep yet " 

" maybe she should sleep for a while until the birthday song " seohyun's father discussed seriously with his wife 

" honey , if she sleeps now she'll surely get annoyed if we wake her up a few minutes later " 

seohyun's father nodded in understanding " i hope juhyun will make it soon "

yonghwa pov ~ 

her lips melted like a cotton candy against my lips , the taste and the texture were getting even more delicious and addictive , gently and coaxing her lips i hoped for her response .. 

she did respond by placing a hand on my chest , slightly pushing me away and distancing between us ! my heart painfully stung exactly where her hand rested as i knew what it meant .. 

she doesn't want to ~

i broke the kiss gently and hardly digested the hateful reality !

for a moment i thought she wanted me too , i thought she finally accepted the coward me but apparently i was too stupid to read the situation between us .. 

i took a stiff step backward troubled and unable to meet her eyes 

" why did you ... " she asked with a barely heard tone gazing directly into my eyes and my heart trembled in hesitation .. 

-because i love you -as simple as it may sounds , i couldn't say it ..

 whenever i confess i always end up hurting and breaking her that she can't take it , it has always been the same over and over so i came to believe we could never make it together , we aren't fated together ..

i don't wish to lose her again and i never want to mess up the happiness i found with my current state as stranger 

" for a moment ... i was just.. " 
 
" for a moment ? " seohyun questioned softly waiting for my reason , i stared at her wide eyes which got me weaker at heart but certainly stable enough to lie 

" you consoled me earlier so i felt like kissing you ..."

" ah .. is that so ? " she searched my eyes unsatisfied 

" i'm really ..... " i shut my eyes in despair fighting myself to apologize for a kiss that i never regret

" it's okay " she waved a hand and smiled casually assuring my aching heart

she slid away from any contact and walked away " anyway , i'll just go up first " 

she was walking away and i was losing my chance forever 

" wait " i held her arm stopping her , " juhyun , listen .... "

seohyun pov ~ 

the more he tries to explain his superficial feelings , manly vulgar excuses , the more it gets ugly and i feel bad for myself so i just walked away to leave his apartment  
" anyway , i'll just go up first " 

" wait !! " my arm was restricted by his sudden hold , i looked back at him and his eyes were lit with determination " juhyun , listen ...  " 

my heart pounded painfully in my chest hoping for the last time the he had a really good reason to kiss me , he had something to say that would assure my clingy worn out heart 

" i ... let's .. go together " he ended his words with a sigh  

but after all , no other explanation did exist , it was the truth how he just took advantages of the awkward atmosphere ! how he took advantage of my confusion and kissed me in the heat of the moment !

 he extended his hand in front of me asking for my permission for us to hold hands .. 

i stared at his hand and bitterness coiled in my throat , why is he making this harder on me ! 

" was it that hard on you .. the kiss earlier ? " he asked cautiously when he noticed my hesitation 

" anyia , i was just surprised " i replied casually and accepted his hand holding it 

even if acting casual was hard , hurting his feelings was even harder on me 

nothing happened , it's okay~ 

walking hand in hand as if it was the most casual move in the world , as if holding hands was a living essential as simple as breathing

the elevator slid open and we quietly went in ..

" mmm ... " yonghwa searched for his words and i was eager to help with the distraction topic he's coming up with in the moment

" yes ? "

" everyone must be waiting for us by now ! " 

" yeah " i replied softly 

" what if yonghyun is already sleeping by now ! " he wondered 

" i hope she is not ! " i replied awkwardly to his thoughts as i stared at my feet avoiding any ridiculous glance at him 

we got off the elevator and yonghwa's steps were getting heavier as we got closer to my villa's door , until he froze by the door and took a deep breath nervously ..

i tightened my grip over his hand assuring 

" i forget to tell you something " i said and got his full attention 

" what ? " 

" my father .. i never knew he was a hardcore boice ! he really enjoyed your dongsangs' company tonight ! or who knows maybe he was just relieved it wasn't an all girls party " i acted confused then smiled brightly at him 

he gazed at me deeply with lust , as if he was addicted to kissing me now he leaned closer !

" wh..what ! " i retreated back 

" you're really cool " he smirked

" i know " i replied with ego and chuckled 

we opened the villa's door and made it inside .. and immediately all the eyes were on us ! they gave us a suspicious glances and i wasn't even sure what it meant !! 

yonghwa was going to greet everyone formally but yonghyun wiped her sleepy eyes and flew toward yonghwa in a fraction of second 

" appaaaaa " 

" hyun~ah !! " 

yonghwa sank to the floor and hugged yonghyun with one uncomfortable arm while she surrounded her arms around his neck ! he usually would show more affection but maybe everyone presence made him more cautious and stiff .. 

i shifted my glance to my unnies next and they were giggling suspiciously , i wondered what's so funny about a lovely father-daughter relationship ! 
yoona and sooyoung interlaced hands giving me some kind of teasing gesture ! what's wrong with t .... 

it hit me awfully when i got aware that i'm still holding yonghwa's hand tightly , and he was totally uncomfortable hugging yonghyun because i never allowed to let go of his hand so he had to adapt himself to show affection with just one other hand ! 

i let go of his hand in embarrassment and took a steps away abandoning him ..

" happy birthday hyun~ah , you grew up really pretty for another year " he smiled at yonghyun kissing her cheek and carried her into his arms , he continued " appa ~ really loves you !! you're the most beautiful thing in my world " 

" miss you " yonghyun said sweetly and we laughed 

" miss you too !! oh .. look at those sleepy puffed eyes ! aigoo soooo cuteee " yonghwa said 

" no , not cute .. sleepy " she protested stubbornly and yonghwa giggled 

" you're cute when you're sleepy , right now you look like this ... " yonghwa said and narrowed his eyes at her as a demonstration 

yonghyun laughed out loud in enjoyment 

" can you see me now ? Hi " he waved at her and she laughed " yeah " 

" did you have fun with grandpa and grand ma ? " he asked pointing and waved to my parents and she nodded happily " yeah " 

" ooooh we'll have even more fun now that appa is finally here , right ? " he asked her with ego and she exclaimed " yeaaah " 

we cringed in jealousy watching them 

" what's wrong with you all ? " i whispered to my unnies embarrassed more than frustrated 

" holding hands and showing off !! " sunny teased 

" nothing going on !!! we were just holding hands by chance since it must be troublesome meeting my parents and all "  

yuri shook her head unconvinced " right , by chance " 

i clenched my fists in irritation ! wondering seriously what's wrong with them ..

while yonghwa bowed to my parents politely 

" thanks for being here for uri yonghyun's birthday " he said sincerely with a serious expression .. 

carrying yonghyun between his arms , using such a dashing line  - it was all so cool the way he revealed that yonghyun's belongs to him in the first place by casually thanking everyone for coming for her 

father nodded slightly
" of course we should ! she's our only precious granddaughter after all " 

yonghwa asked for my mother acknowledgment too " omonii , i wanted to visit sooner and have a dinner together .. but i wasn't sure if you got the time to " 

mother widened her eyes shocked " omo ! you should just visit whenever you want to .. i'll make you a delicious dinner " 

yonghwa smiled and they all smiled at him , he threw me a glance showing off his success ! 
well , who would ever saw him sinking in depression earlier wouldn't have imagined he would be this confident dealing with the real thing 

tiffany clapped a hand asking for everyone attention as she announced " let's just wrap the party for yonghyun at least , she's suffering fighting her sleep " 

i was snapped back to the scene and moved quickly sitting things up for the birthday song .. 

" hyun~ah , stay with us please " yonghwa resuscitated her pulling her away from his shoulder support to sober her up

i exclaimed loudly as i sat up the table " waaaaah , look at all those butterflies !! a LOT of them !! hyun~ah look " 

yonghyun wiped her sleepy eyes giving a serious attention to the birthday cake 

" butterfly !! " she pointed in a shock as she noticed it and we laughed at her cuteness 

yonghwa pointed at the side of the cake mischievously " there's another one here " 

yonghyun nodded vigorously approving " yes , butterfly " she admired the butterflies and yonghwa got her as close as possible to trace her tiny fingers caressing them  

" i'll feel bad eating that cake after such an emotional scene " hyoyeon joked

 while jungshin took endless pictures of us documenting the whole event 

after a long admiration scene , we gathered around the dining table to sing her birthday song 

" minhyuk~ah , why standing away .. come closer " hyoyeon exclaimed as she pulled the polite him closer crowding the line , eventually the line pumped into each other to give a space for the left out minhyuk 

yonghwa wrapped an arm on the small of my back pulling me closer to him , i understood why he initially did it but it puzzled me why did he leave his arm there for the whole song !

we ended the song and clapped for her 

" can she blow off the candles ? " yonghwa questioned and i giggled 

 " she shall be able to do it " i said with confidence 

" okay , hyun~ah blowwww " yonghwa asked her cautiously and she looked at him in confusion 

" hyun~ah blow " i asked her next and she looked at me with same confused eyes 

" hyun~ah blow , like a hot food , dandelion " i convinced her as i knew she can do it in general but maybe she was a little distracted now

tiffany voiced in disbelief " geez , is that her first time with candles ? you should have trained her earlier ! what kind of mother are you " 

" she can do it " i insisted 

my mother giggled " it's okay , she's still young " 

" she can do it , i know it ! " i insisted stubbornly 

" good job hyun~ah " i heard yonghwa exclaiming happily ! 
i glanced them and they were both already celebrating her success blowing off the cake candles 

" eh ! she did it ? " 

yonghwa nodded casually " ah just now ! " 

i widened my eyes in disappointment and whined " i didn't witness it !! i want see it again ! let's do it again " 

i reached for the lighter and lighted the candles again 

yonghwa chuckled at my stubbornness , he asked yonghyun again " let's blow out all those candles again , hyun~ah " 

" ooh okay~ " she approved cutely and blowed the candles with yonghwa .. 

" waaaah my princess is amazing " yonghwa praised her and she smiled happily 

" again " she requested from yonghwa and he chuckled " you want to blow candles again !! " 

" yeah again " 

he lighted the candles for her and she blowed them again ! 

" my princess is so lovely " he nudged into her in affection and she giggled 

" again " she requested and we laughed in a shock 

yonghwa gave a troubled smile as he lighted the candles for her again and she blowed them off 

" she's really smart , my granddaughter " appa said proudly and yonghwa approved " she is " 

my father winked at yonghwa and reached out for yonghyun " i need to give her a kiss , let me " 

yonghwa handed the girl to my father following his distraction plan , who then showered her with love and praises too 

" take out your gifts , yonghyun's parents " hyoyeon shouted loudly giving us a fright 

yonghwa murmured " well it's nothing flashy but .... " 

i took out my gift , which was a cartier white gold butterfly necklace 

" ooh so cute " yoona squealed when she saw it 

" that will surely look good on yonghyun " sooyoung approved

i held the necklace happily as i went closer to yonghyun .. however i noticed yonghwa's white face with the corner of my eye ! 

" what about you, yonghwa ? "  i managed to ask him bringing his attention back to life 

" looks .. like i forgot mine " he stuttered nervously 

even a kid could tell he's lying 

" eeeh , hyung .. just take it out already " jonghyun pressured 

yonghwa frowned and said firmly " i said i didn't bring it , i'll give mine later "  

jonghyun narrowed his eyes unconvinced and got closer to yonghwa " why do i feel it's somewhere around here " , he tapped yonghwa's teasing 

" yaaaah hands off !! " 

however , jungshin and minhyuk joined .. searching yonghwa pants meticulously

" do you have a death wish ? " he shouted angry , but he couldn't win over the three healthy men doing their job , we watched them and had a good laugh until jungshin shouted " found it !! " 

he took out his closed fist from yonghwa's pocket , getting everyone attention on the mysterious gift .. 

" dogun dogun " jungshin opened his palm slowly revealing the gift and we ended up shocked 

" no way !! " yuri murmured shocked

jonghyun massaged his forehead in pain " this family is such a butterflies freaks " 

yonghwa's gift was a white gold butterfly necklace , identical to mine !!!  

i reached out and took it from jungshin's palm , i looked at both necklaces and they were exactly identical !! made by same store too !

 yonghwa grumbled in pain as he wanted to snatch his necklace from my hand " it's okay , one is enough " he hissed 

i messed out his hand by millimeters as i kept a tight grip over both necklaces 

as i got the idea i suggested " since we got identical butterflies , i'll turn mine into a bracelet instead , so she'll get the whole set ! lucky hyun~aah " 

" look hyun~ah , appa brought you a butterfly necklace !! do you want to wear it ? " 

" yeah !!! " yonghyun approved vigorously and i laughed locking the necklace around her neck 

" done ! now you got your own butterfly necklace " 

she smiled looking down at her chest " mine ? " 

" don't forget to thank appa " i reminded her and she looked at yonghwa with a lovely pair of twinkling eyes " thanks appa " 

he smiled warmly " you're welcome , my princess " 

omma clang to my father's arm with a contented smile  " aww how lovely " 

it wasn't just omma but everyone noticed yonghyun unfair lovely connection with her father and eventually couldn't help their jealousy , i usually would get jealous too but their warmness overwhelmed my blackened heart and i was already tearing up 

" you have to pay for my necklace adjustment " i nagged yonghwa coldly distracting myself from those warm emotions shaking my heart .. 

" i will , jealous hyun~ah " he smiled at me warmly 

in comparison to yonghyun first lonely birthday , this birthday was on a whole new level of heartwarming gathering .. all the people i loved were in such a small room celebrating my yonghyun existence and thankfully yonghwa shared that happiness with me too ! he did so well , too well surpassing my expectations for a young man who suddenly turned out as a father ! 

my tears betrayed me and poured down my cheeks endlessly 

" i'm thankful for you all being here , i'm thankful you gave my yonghyun so much love ... i'm truly thankful " i said my words and broke down crying hard ! tears of happiness , tears of contentment - i never thought they really exist ..

even with my eyes blurred with tears , i could feel everyone getting emotional too , everyone trying to console me , i was more thankful so i cried harder

however the firm arms that wrapped me in assuring hug that moment , were yonghwa's arms and no one else .. 
i relaxed into his familiar arms and sniffed my ugly tears ..

" you're such a cry baby , aren't you ? " he whispered and i smiled against his shoulder ..
