Chapter 24

Elana shook her head, her arms crossed, "No way I'm not going to do it."

"Oh come it will be fun!" Chanyeol clasped his hands together Baekhyun stood next to the giant nodding his head enthusiastically, a big grin spread across his face.

Over the past weeks Elana had really gotten to know the members of the pack. She had found Chanyeol was quite fun to be around and no longer feared him. Except once the rest of the wolves had arrived back home from their journey. She had found that when Chanyeol and Baekhyun were together it was utter chaos for herself.  

"Nope, not going to happen." Elana turned around to face Xiumin who was sitting behind her. He was sending daggers at the two clowns, he didn't like the idea either. "Xiumin tell them it's a bad idea."

"What is a bad idea?" Elana turned her head towards the silky voice she had grown accustomed to over time.

"Kai! Thank god. I wanted to play a game or something and Chanyeol and Baekhyun think we should play a game of cat and mouse... Where I'm the mouse."

Kai glanced at his older brothers, a smirk gracing his lips. "Sounds fun. I am in." Out of all the wolves Kai had grown the closest to Elana. He was the one she would talk to the most and he had, up until a few days ago, followed Elana and Xiumin all over the castle. He followed them until he had earned the position of her best friend. Of course Xiumin hadn't liked that in the slightest, and was the reason Kai no longer was allowed to follow the two. So to Kai any reason to hang out with his friend was a good idea. Even if it meant she would be the prey in their little game of hunt.

Elana gaped at him, "Kai, I thought you were my friend why are you siding with them! Xiumin do something!"

Oh gladly, was all he could think. If he was human he definitely would have cracked his knuckles. Maybe show off a bit of muscle. Of course he wasn't human, but being a wolf also had it's benefits. His lips curled over his teeth, sharp and glistening with saliva. A deep growl echoed through the room, Xiumin crouched down then pounced towards Chanyeol and Baekhyun. The two scattered both screeching with laughter.

Elana let herself laugh as well, something that had become more common as she grew to feel comfortable around the wolves. She knew now that they would never hurt her. That they were good and kind, well a few of them might be an exception, seeing as how they loved teasing anyone that they deemed worthy enough to be teased. Which honestly meant everyone they came in contact with.

The only one of the pack Elana still questioned was Suho. He had always been nice to her and now treated her like a younger sister, but Elana could tell she wasn't family to him yet. The pack, his brothers, came first. Which was fine they were a very close knit group and as the alpha he must have felt an extreme amount of pressure. Yet, she somehow felt he was keeping something from her.

On the day that the rest of the members had arrived there had been a joyous celebration. Kai had been tackled to the floor in hugs, the members glad he had finally transformed. Tao, Kyungsoo, and Baekhyun had also given Elana hugs glad she finally accepted them. It was during all the commotion that Elana noticed Kyungsoo pulling Suho away from the group. When they came back less than an hour later, smiling and joining in with the rest of the wolves, she couldn't help but notice the subtle glance Suho had thrown her way. She wasn't sure what it was but something in the way he had looked at her stirred up a small feeling of almost, what was it...betrayal? She couldn't really describe the way it made her feel, but it made her doubt him just the slightest. To her it felt like he was withholding something important.

Elana tried not to focus on that though, she had only just begun to feel comfortable around the wolves. They brought to her a happiness she had never felt to such an extent, and she really didn't want to go back to how she had been with them before.

Elana laughed at the two trolls being chased by Xiumin. There was only one of him yet he easily kept the other two on their toes. It was majestic the way his fur moved over his muscles, almost gold in the lighting. It shimmered to Elana, moving in swaying waves across his back and shoulders. The hair melting into a very light brown down his legs and towards Xiumin's large white paws that were slightly bigger than her own hands. His silver eyes gleamed as he chased down his brothers, he was beautiful.

Elana jolted from her thoughts, on the inside of her lips. The past few days she had on various occasions found herself admiring him. She excused it, reminding herself it was just a mate thing, that she didn't actually find him attractive. That it was just her mind playing tricks on her, because there was no way she would ever fall in love with a wolf. Yet she couldn't deny that over the couple of weeks since her acceptance she had recognized some sort of connection to him. Thinking back she realized the connection had always been there, but now she just had a reason for it.

There was a pressure on her shoulder, Kai's arm wrapped around her casually. He was also watching Xiumin chase his brothers. Then he turned to Elana his smirk forming into a smile. He brought a finger over his lips signaling her to be quiet. Without a chance to ask why, Kai scooped Elana up into his arms a noise somewhere between a squeal and a screech fell passed her lips as Kai ran out of the room. It took all but a few seconds before Xiumin noticed and the game of Cat and Mouse had begun. Chanyeol and Baekhyun not too far behind hooping and hollering in triumph.

Xiumin was having mixed feelings. He loved that Elana believed them to be werewolves. It had changed how she acted around the pack, she fit in more and didn't hide behind him as often as before. But that also meant she didn't hide behind him as often as before. It meant that she didn't need him as much as before. Then there was the rest of the pack, all of them had grown closer to her in some way or another. That was great, yet he couldn't help but be slightly irritated. Especially when they pulled stunts like this. It wasn't that he didn't like the rest of the pack being close with her. It was just that Xiumin and Elana weren't official yet, she could still say no to being his mate. That was why he was truly worried. He didn't want to lose her, not in real life, and most certainly not during a game.

Xiumin ran after Kai tailing almost close enough to snag his velvet black cloak in his mouth, but Kai was fast even while holding Elana. Xiumin remained calm, he could sense that Elana wasn't scared, (yelling at Kai to let her go yes, but not scared) so Xiumin wasn't go
