Eunhee walked towards the neighborhood she was told to go. Her mother had just passed away, a Faerie by blood, she passed quickly and painlessly.

Her dying wish was that Eunhee go to the neighboorhood of Nalgae, on Nami Island in Choonchun. Not many people knew about the secret neighborhood living on the island since no one could really see them anyway. She hadn't packed much and just brought a backpack full of clothes, cash, and formal documents, for both Faerie and Human worlds.

Many people questioned her age as she was traveling alone as a 10-year-old, a minor. But she convinced many of them that her mother was just in the bathroom and she was sent to collect her own ticket first. The charisma it took was similar, she had a certain charm that made people believe her, she knew she had it since she was born, along with other powers.

Eunhee spent about two hours venturing there after departing Seoul, taking the train and the ferry out to the island. She moved towards the center of it, where the forest was at its densest, trees neverending, soon, the place glittered in gold and she knew she had found the right place. 

She felt it before she saw it as her own eyes glowed gold while approaching the group of people singing and celebrating. She smiled seeing the faeries revel in the summer light, their wings spread wide as they danced around.

She walked forward to join them and immediately everything stopped, and all sets of green eyes turned to stare at her. Some glared, others looked at her with indifference.

"You don't belong here." A girl had said, interrupting the silence. It was at that moment she realized that she wasn't a Faerie like her mother was. Her eyes were gold while a Faerie had green eyes. She was different, and she didn't match to them as well as she had thought she would.

"I was sent here by Eunmi." She said calmly, hoping that her mother's name would grant her some peace.

"She finally died? Good for her, falling in love with a mortal, that's what she gets." One of the older males scoffed at her.

She froze, her mother's name wouldn't get her freedom here either.

"Leave. Like I said, you don't belong here." The girl repeated.

Eunhee bit her lip and looked down, she was wrong to have hoped for a family here. All the stories her mother had told her of the Fae were turning out to be false. They weren't kind and sweet as she had said, they flat out rejected her based on the color of her eyes. Because she wasn't a full Faerie like they were. She was only half.

She spun on her heel and started to walk away, when a young boy stopped her. He looked about her age, and he smiled at her. 

"Get away from her, Jinyoung." The older male said.

"I like her." He said, still smiling at her, "I'm Jinyoung." He held his hand out for her to shake.

She looked at him cautiously, how could she know that he was being real with her.

"I don't bite." He said calmly.

She took his hand after that and shook once, "Eunhee." She said.

"Pretty." He said, "Come sit by me." He took her hand led her to his rock and patted next to him. She followed him and sat down quietly.

All the other faeries just stared at her as Jinyoung continued to watch her. "Your mom passed away?" He asked her.

"Yeah.. Recently. She told me to come here because I have nowhere else to go." She told him.

"You're welcome to stay here." He told her, "I will keep a room in my house open for you." He offered.

"Jinyoung!" One of the elders objected.

Jinyoung held his hand up to quiet him, "I am able to make my own decisions. And this girl will be staying with me." He stated, severely ending all objections from the old man. He took Eunhee’s hand as he led her away from the group of Fae that were looking down on her.

They reached a small little clearing before he let go of her hand, “I’m sorry you had to put up with that.” He said sincerely.

She shook her head, “It’s nothing. It was not exactly what I expected but I had a feeling that it was going to happen.” She said, “Why are you being nice to me?” 

“No one deserves to be without a home. Besides, mine has a lot of space, you’re always welcome to stay there.” Jinyoung replied with a shrug. Eunhee could feel his confidence and charisma wash off his shoulders. He was always like this it seemed, but she didn’t think the charisma was being used on her right now.

“Thank you for your kindness.” Eunhee replied, “But I am not sure I will be welcome here.” She told him sadly, looking down at the ground. 

She felt his arms envelope her into a hug and his warmth and happiness flowed through her. It was so natural and genuine, she couldn’t push him away. It had a been long time since she was able to hug someone. “You will always be welcome here, Eunhee. I will always want you to be here. You will not be alone, no matter what they say.” He said, squeezing her tightly once before letting her go. “Can you show me some of your powers?” He asked her.

Eunhee looked down at the ground, “I’m only really good at one element.” She said softly.

“What is that? I don’t mind, just show me.” He said, encouraging her to stop being so shy. Eunhee nodded and took a deep breath before closing her hand into a fist and opening it again.

A bright orange flame lit up in her palm and she smiled as he did when he reached out to touch it. She kept him safe from harm and she changed the color of the fire, to blue, red and white. He stared in awe and she played around with the flame. It was one of her favorite pastimes and she finally had the chance to openly do so.

“Wow.” He said softly, just watching her little show, “I can’t do that.” He said.

“Why not? I thought Faeries were more powerful than Elementals.” She told him, putting the fire out and sitting beside him.

He took her hand in his, intertwining their fingers. He was so caring and for the first time, she felt like it didn’t matter that she was a half-breed. If only she could always feel like this, “That might be true, but you’re an Elemental for a reason, Eunhee. Come, let’s find out which room you would like in my house.” Jinyoung told her, standing up and leading her towards his giant home.

WOOT. So I've had part of this chapter written for a long time now.
But I could never get the feels to finish it or determine where I wanted it to end.
Until now. So hopefully you enjoy this first chapter. :o 
And I will try to get more updates out :o Because I'm dying to get to the good parts ;)
