(SH) Chapter 13

Contestant Number 1 and 2

I was getting rather dizzy. Although it had been over a day since hitting my head and I am quite racked up on pain meds. The sudden movements and the anxiousness of dealing with these girls is making it hard on me.

We came to see Sehun-ge.” One girl spat, turning away from me and TaeMi towards Tao fully. What seemed to be the leader, yanked her wrist away from Tao and scoffed.

Anyone who can’t accept TianMi being here, can leave. She is a guest of Sehun and will stay here as long as he wills her to.” Tao’s voice came out cold and intimidating. Tao and I have had our fights but we never crossed the line of hatred, and that is exactly what Tao’s voice reeked of.

The three girls scoffed, mumbling angrily in Chinese that was incomprehensible to me. SOon enough Tao and the three girls were in a full blown screaming match. Tao shouting rapid Chinese in one girls face. The girl red faced and breathing heavy, shouting just as loud.

Stop!” I screamed on the top of my lungs. Eyes forced shut, face stained red with anger, “All of you out!” I was so angry. Angry and dizzy.

I stepped to my bed, hand reaching out to get there sooner. Before I could reach the bed I stumbled and fell to the ground. My head was spinning and I couldn’t think straight let alone stand back up.

Sehun!” I heard TaeMi call out to me but my senses were getting fuzzy. I thought I heard Tao call for a nurse before I out.

It was a few hours later when I awoke, according to the clock sitting next to me.

“Rise and shine Sleeping Beauty.” I blinked the sleepiness out of my eyes. I was greeted by Minseok holding Jongdae in a headlock. Luhan working on homework on the table in the corner. Lastly Kris was seated next to the busy Chinese, of course on his phone.

Minseok let go of Jongdae with a sheepish smile, the younger Korean grumbled angrily jumping away from his hyung.

“Sehun, the nurse said you passed out because you put too much strain on your body.” I blinked at him, trying to remember what happened before. When it hit me, I gasped.

“Where is Tao and TaeMi?”

“Nice to see you too.” Jongdae mumbled sassily to himself making his way to Luhan, presumably to go back to his homework.

“TianMi went home and Tao is probably being scolded by Auntie. Something about bullying girls.” Minseok sat next to my bed. “We brought food, Tao said he was hungry, but he’s not here so we ate it.” He looked up at me and cracked a gummy smile, “Hope you aren’t hungry none of us want to spend money on hospital food.”

I nodded and readjusted myself in my bed.

“What happened to those girls?”

“What girls?” Luhan asked over his shoulder, not tearing himself away from his school work.

“Those girls that bully TaeMi in the bathroom, they came here.”

“Ahhh that explains why Auntie was mad at Tao,” Minseok shut his eyes and leaned back in his chair, “They must have left before we got here, because we didn’t see them.”

“Can we go home?” Kris complained finally looking up from his phone.

“Hyung,” I whined. I didn’t want them to leave, if they left I would be lonely again. Kris just glared at me, but I used the opportunity to give him the puppy eyes, earning a grunt.

“Sorry Sehun, we all have stuff to do and it’s already getting late,” Luhan stood turning to me, giving me a sympathetic look. I smiled and nodded, Luhan took the role of the more reasonable friend in the group today.

“I’ll stay behind with you Sehun. I wanted to show you what you missed in class so I got you some notes from your teacher.” Jongdae stayed seated while Luhan was putting his things away and Kris stretched his long legs.

“Wait before you guys leave,” I looked about my bed, finding what I was searching for, I held it out to the aproching Chinese boys, “Save your guys' phone numbers in my new phone."

Luhan grabbed my phone first, calling his own phone then handed it to Kris to do the same. Kris tossed it back to me, and in catching it, I poked Minseok hyung with the black device.

“Hyung give me your number.” MInseok rose quietly snatching the phone from my hand. (Heeeeellloooooo You forgot Lay~!)(OMG LAY BABY IM SO SORRY BBY)

The door to the room slid open and Lay walked in brushing his hands on his pants.

Oh we are leaving? Sehun you woke up!” I snapped my gaze from Minseok to Lay and a wide grin spread across my face.

“Ge! You’re here too!” A smile graced its way across his face, dimple appearing full blown only on one side. (Just like me~)

“Of course I came. Gee I can’t believe you forgot about me.” (Pfffft. Talk about yourself)( TT^TT bully) He whined coming up to my bedside. Minseok handed him my phone and stood.

“We are leaving so put your number in Hunnie’s phone.” The eldest Korean stretched, yawning.

“Aw but I barely got to talk!” Lay huffed, putting his phone number in my phone, “text me okay!” I nodded eagerly, opening my contacts I admired the growing list.

“I’ll text all of you!” I smiled but my enjoyment was cut short by a grumpy Korean,

“After you study for a little while. Bye guys.” I pouted watching Jongdae usher everyone out of the room.

“Boo you’re no fun!” I swore I heard Lay chant, followed by Luhan’s sharp laughter and the slap of a high five. I chuckled watching Jongdae re enter, sighing exasperatedly.

“I didn’t want to say in front of everyone else, since your grades are your problem; but the teacher said you were falling behind with only being there a few days.”

“I can’t understand anything though!” Nagging and all that is how Jongdae and I studied for the next few hours. It was pretty late when hyung left and I told him to be careful getting home, to which he made a snotty remark about not being a girl, and with that he left.

I some how made it through another day, but only with the help of texting Lay and Luhan. The two were rather good company unlike the others. Jongdae kept ignoring me saying he was “actually studying” making it sound like I don’t. Minseok constantly just randomly disappeared in the middle of conversations, presumably falling asleep and Kris responded only in emoji’s probably just to get on my nerves. And Tao. Well Tao, I haven’t heard from at all, no matter how many times I keep texting him “hyung~”.

It was about midday when Jongdae strolled in, merrily, followed by an annoyed Tao, probably because he was forced to study on a weekend.

“Hyungs!” The Chinese nurse that kept trying to explain something that I didn’t understand, turned to the door, and in recognizing Tao, quipped something to him in Chinese. One corner of his lips curved up and the perturbed look that he was wearing earlier disappeared at the nurses statement. The nurse was dismissed and Tao came up to my bed and Jongdae went to the table.

“You can leave the hospital tonight. She said if you hadn’t out, you could have left earlier. You just made it worse for yourself.” He sat on the edge of my bed, making himself comfortable.

“Today wasn’t that bad anyways. Some people actually texted me back, unlike some people.” I glared at Tao and Jongdae, but they just shrugged me off. “Plus it was your fault I passed out, not mine.” Tao rolled his eyes and Jongdae came up to the bed,

“Ready to study youngins!” He was oddly cheerful after being so grumpy yesterday night, but I presumed it was because of the head lock from Minseok earlier, he seemed not to let that go that easily. Tao and I groaned, but the two eventually helped me up— not that I need much help, I’m a big boy— and we got to studying at the table.

After a few hours, I was getting really hungry and Tao also agreed, using that as a way to get out of study, even if it was temporary.

“Let’s get chicken. You’re paying since you dragged us to study!” Tao stood, yanking Jongdae out of his chair, the power of food always made Tao more tolerable.

“Sehun there is something for you in my backpack. Some girl gave it to me before I left school for the hospital yesterday. I forgot about it until now.” Some girl giving me something again? I don’t know why they bothered, they all knew I didn’t read Mandarin well. But that hadn’t stopped a couple girls confessing since I started going to school.

The two left and I reached for Jongdae’s bag sitting on the floor next to where he was sitting. There was a small envelope, not yet sealed, I opened it and was genuinely surprised. It was in Korean. I read the note, it wasn’t a confession, it was simply a letter.

The girl had been studying Korean on her own and wanted to practice her Korean with me. She invited me to come sit with her and her friends, who also spoke a bit of Korean because of her, at lunch. At the bottom it was signed neatly in Mandarin script, with the pronunciation in Hangul below it. Li FangXue and a number

“Lee FangShae, cute name!” I smiled to myself, tucking the envelope into my backpack that Tao had brought me today.

I typed in the number the girl had left me and texted her in Korean, saying it was me. She responded quickly, grateful that I had read her letter and taken the chance to text her. That is how I passed the time that it took Tao and Jongdae to get food. When they returned, I politely told the girl I had to go and she relieved me.

“It wasn’t a confession.” I said reaching for the chicken they set down on the table, trying to get a head start while they cleared their school stuff. “And it was in Korean!”

“There is a girl at our school who knows Korean?” Jongdae asked openly but the question was more directed to Tao, as I didn’t know the school.

“Guess so,” Tao brushed us off while digging into the chicken.

“She invited me to go sit with her and her friends.” I said taking a big bite of chicken. Jongdae poked around looking for the perfect piece,

“You going to?” I nodded, still eating.

“What did you say her name was?” Tao discarded a bone and went for a second piece.

“I didn’t. Her name is Lee FangShae.” I was pretty sure I got the pronunciation right, at least that is what it sounded like from the Hangul.

“Lee FangShae…” Jongdae paused, looking like he was racking his brain trying to find out who I was talking about, “Oh you mean Li FangXue?”

“That’s what I said!” Tao just shook his head at me.

“Where have I heard that name… Wait is it the Li FangXue? Wasn’t she best friends with TianMi?” I busied myself with chicken, not even attempting to follow the conversation.

It’s been a few years since I have heard the name, but I am sure she was TianMi’s friend.” Jongdae shook his head at the memories of his first year of high school.

I think you’re right.” Was all Tao said before returning to his chicken, obviously whatever Jongdae was say was annoying him. “Hun you shouldn’t sit with her.”

“I will do whatever I please.” I huffed, the reason I was in the hospital was because he kept trying to get me do what he wanted; when will he learn?
