"Good morning, class! I'm here with the results of your last quiz!" Mr. Kangta announced as he entered the room.

"And once again, you guys have proven to me that dating really is your favorite subject!" He grinned and some of the guys whooped.
Joon and the others started to do waves.
"Okay, a lot of you guys got Bs, some A's and only a few C's but no one failed!" He said happily.
He went around to pass the papers. I noticed he said something to Onew when he handed him his paper.
Onew just nodded, looked at his paper and shoved it inside his bag.
But not before I saw the big red C scrawled on the top.

My eyes widened.

While I was busy being shocked, I didn't notice Mr. Kangta go to my desk and smile.
"And I must say, the throne has been taken! We have a new dating master in this class!" And he slaps down my paper in my desk.
I looked at it.

I gasped. A+?! I got an A+!?
"Ms. Maki-sshi here, got an A+!" He smiled at me.
"Wow! A+! That's like the best grade ever!" Joon called out and did waves again with the others while some watched happily.
The others congratulated me too.
"Looks like you improved tremendously. Good job!" Mr. Kangta told me quietly.
I smiled back uneasily because all this felt weird.
It feels so much like Deja Vu.
Like all this happened before except that I was the one who got a C and Onew got the A+.
Even the waves and comments were the same.
I looked over at Onew. His face was expressionless and he was staring ahead.
I don't know why it feels confusing.

Wasn't this what I wanted right from the start?
I remembered hatching a plan before.
To get Onew to teach me so that I'll ace the subject and take his place as the 2nd in class.
I remember it perfectly.
And as far as I know, I'm doing better than him at Math where he beat me before by only a small percentage.
Now I have the upperhand.
My plan worked.
So why wasn't I happy?

All day long, for some reason, I've been on guard.
For study hall, Mika pulled me with her, surprisingly, to the glee club practice room.
"What are we doing here?" I whispered to her as we sat in the back.
"We're gonna watch. Then I'll practice later."
"Watch what?"
"The practices. I really need a few pointers."
"Are you in the glee club already?" I was surprised.
"...No. Not yet, anyway." She shrugs. "But this is better than study hall."
"Where's Jonghyun?"
"I'm not sure.." She muttered.
Suddenly Kahi and Nana stepped on stage.
"They're members?! Kahi is a member?!"
"Yeah. Didn't you know?"
"But Kahi is on the math club too."
"Super girl." Mika muttered darkly.
Kahi and Nana started to sing.

I was really enjoying the song when suddenly this part came:

I sat straighter. Those lyrics...
"Hey, you're right. It is a nice song." Mika said dreamily.
But it didn't sound nice to me anymore.
Is there no place in this school that doesn't remind me of him?
"I need to go." I stood up abruptly.
"What? Where are you going?" Mika tried to stop me.
"Err..Hey! There's Jonghyun!" I pointed.
Jonghyun just entered through the backdoor.
He spotted us and started to make his way towards Mika.
"I'll go now."
"Uhm..Okay."
Ooh. Looks like they're okay now. Mika doesn't seem nervous around him anymore.
The last thing I saw before I left the room was Jonghyun giving Mika a mirror.
Hmm..Looks fishy to me.
Anyway, I've decided already! I know what the change is all about!
I'm going to make up with Onew today whether he wants to or not!
I'm pretty sure he had study hall too.
I checked my watch. 30 minutes. I have 30 minutes to go find him and change everything.
I went to the room where people go to study for study hall.
Nope, not here.
I checked the library.
Not there either.
I even asked Dongho to go check the boys' restroom for me.
"Sorry." He shook his head. "Hyung's not there. Have you tried the student council?"
"Of course! You're a genius!" I ruffled his hair and he beamed adorably.
I quickly walked to the student council room, determined.
Taemim was there, sipping his banana milk.
"Noona!" He smiled.
"Hey Taem, is Onew here?"
"Nope!" He shook his head.
My face fell. "Well, do you know where he is? Does he have any meeting or whatever?"
"Wait, I'll check." He grabbed some papers and inspected them.
"Hmm...hyung has study hall."
"I knew that. Any meetings after?"
"Hmm..Nope. Today's a free day for him. Why?" He looked at me.
"Uhmm..Nothing."
"Do you want me to help you?"
"No, it's okay." I smiled.
"Okay." He shrugged. "Just come here if you need help."
"Thanks Taem." I smiled at him and left the room.
Where could Onew be?
The bell rang and the students rushed out of the classrooms, chatting happily.
I scanned their faces, looking for him.
I waited by the lockers.
Surely he would stop by here, right?
A lot of students went to their lockers to deposit their stuff.
But Onew never showed up.
Where could he be?! I frowned. Did he cut class or whatever?
I placed my own stuff in my locker and waited for him for another 10 minutes. Almost everyone's gone now.
I decided to check the student council room again.
I poked my head in. Taemin was still there, eating a banana.
I closed the door quietly before he sees me.
I scanned the rooms.
Onew~ Where are yo~u?
I opened another room and saw Jessica sitting in one of the chairs.
"Hey Jessica." I entered the room.
"Oh, hey." As usual, she didn't have any expression. Truthfully, I don't really talk to her because she seems cold and snotty.
"What's up?" She looked at me, raising her eyebrow.
"Uhm.." I stepped back a little from the ice queen.
"Have you seen Onew?" I asked meekly.
"On~...ew~?" Her voice kind of his name.
"Yes." I said slowly. "Have you seen him?"
"Uhmmm...Why?" She twirled a lock of hair in her fingers.
"I just really need to talk to him about something. Please. It's important. Have you seen him?"
"Well...No." She looked at me and gave me a cold smile.
"I didn't see him at all."
"Are you sure?"
"Shouldn't you be in the library or something?" She looked annoyed.
What a skitzo.
"I think you should be the one in there. Instead of locking yourself in here." I shot back.
Oops.
She narrowed her eyes.
"Anyway, if you really didn't see him, then I guess I'll go now." I quickly turned away.
"Thank God she's going." I heard her mutter.
I closed the door quickly and frowned.
What the heck is her problem? What a brat!
I continued to scan the other rooms, even reaching the 3rd floor.
Onew really isn't here.
I sighed and went back to the first floor.
I guess he went home already.
So much for today's change.
I trudged back slowly but stopped again in the the room where Jessica is. I wonder if she left already?
I peeked in and saw something that shocked me.
Jessica was still there alright.
And she's with Onew.
They were sitting next to each other with an open book infront of them.
"Oppa~" She looked up at him and fluttered her eyes.
"I don't understand this part either~"
"Hmm?" Onew seems distracted and out of it.
"This part, oppa~" She cling to his arms.
"That part? But we went over that yesterday already." He looked uneasy.
Yesterday? I felt a lump in my throat. They've been doing this since yesterday?
"Teach it to me again..Jebal~" She leaned closer to him and I was half expecting Onew to lean away but he didn't. Instead he stared back at her, their faces growing closer.
I quickly closed the door and run far away from it.
What is this? Why do I feel so hurt?
My heart felt so heavy, heavier than the way it felt on our first fight.
But why? Onew isn't mine.
It's perfectly normal for him to tutor her. After all, he is class president and that was what he said in his speech before, that he was willing to tutor anyone who needs help. It was one of the reasons why I asked for his help, aside from the fact that he topped the subject.
So why does seeing him teach someone else breaking my heart?
ONEW'S POV
"Jessica." I said, trying to be calm because she was leaning so close.
"Yes, oppa~?" She fluttered her eyes again.
Suddenly I heard the door close.
"Hey what was that?" I looked at the door.
"What? I didn't hear anything oppa."
"But...I thought I heard.."
Jessica tilted my face to her slowly. "Oppa~ pay attention to me! I need you right now."
"Er.." I leaned away and quickly looked down at the book. "Okay, it says here that you need to use the path of a particle..."
"Ho-hum." Jessica began to run her fingers through my arm.
"Hey! What are you doing?" I jumped up.
She looked surprised then she smiled slyly. "I'm sure you know what I'm doing. Sit back down oppa..you still need to teach me." She said sweetly.
I stared at her. "Jessica. When you asked for my help in physics, I assume that you really want to learn physics. So that--and only that--is what we're going to do." I said firmly.
Her lips quivered.
"Don't you like me, oppa? Don't you find me pretty?"
"Uh..No. It's not that."
"Then what?!"
"Jessica," I asked suddenly. "Do you like chocolates?"
"Chocolates?" She wrinkled her nose. "No way! Eew. They make you fat and I'm watching my weight!"
"You're skinny already." I looked at her weirdly.
"I am?" She shrugged. "but still, no chocolates for me, ever. Ugh." She shook her head.
"What about ramyeon?" I don't know why I keep on asking these questions.
I mean, it's not like Mak--uhm, I mean,--she's like the others.
"Eew. Beggar food." She rolled her eyes.
"I don't eat so much, oppa~ let's just study now!" She gives me an alluring look.
Yeah, of course. Maybe she's the only girl who likes ramyeon and chocolates.
Maybe that's why--
"Oppa?"
"Huh?" I blinked.
"Let's study now."
"Y-yeah, okay." I said distractedly.
I tried my best to focus on her and physics.
But mostly on the physics.
We went over the problems and I avoided all her flirting gestures.
I should've never agreed to this.
"Hey, good job. You get it now. Our lesson's over." I stood up quickly.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Jessica." I smiled hurriedly and went out to go to my locker.
Whew. Now I can go home.
I wonder if she went home safely?
Maybe I should just pass Jessica on to Sunny. They're friends anyway.
"Oppa~"
I sighed inwardly and looked up. "Yes, Jessica?"
She smiled sweetly.
"Aren't you going to walk me home?"

I had no choice at all. I mean, my father did raise me to be a gentleman.
But it doesn't mean I have to like it.
"Oppa, aren't you going to carry my bag?" She whined.
I stopped walking since I was ahead of her. "What?"
She gave me her bag. "Thanks!" She grinned.
I sighed again and walked quickly.
"Oppa! Don't walk so fast! Let's enjoy the soft breeze." She pleaded.
"I have lots of things to do, Jessica. Come on!" I walked a few steps back and grabbed her hand.
I noticed she looked down on our entwined hands and she giggled.
I immediately dropped her hand.
Please don't get any wrong ideas.
She frowned and started walking again.
I hurried and soon enough, we were at her house.
"We're here." I said shortly.
"Uhm...Thanks." She turned to me.
I nodded. "I'll go now."
"Wait...Oppa?"
I turned to look at her. "Yes?"
"I learned something today." She smiled at me sincerely.
My heart tightened.
She doesn't know how long I've been hoping to hear those words.
