What just happened? Did I just really say all that infront of everyone?
"Hey, you okay?" I felt an arm around my shoulders.
I blinked.
"Mika?"
"Miss me?" She smiled weakly and pulled me closer.
I didn't say anything and just hugged her back.
For the first time, I cried on my bestfriend's arms the whole lunch.

We both had study hall for our last class so Mika and I talked.
And yes, we had a real talk.
I finally told her about Onew, that he was teaching me dating and it all got weird because he's using tactile, but that we really didn't stop hanging out. I told her every lesson we had.
And everything that Onew is doing that was confusing me so much.
And my sister's advices and conclusion.
I didn't leave anything out.
I wouldn't do that again.
"Why didn't you tell me any of this before?!" She looked shocked.
"Mianhe." I blushed. "It's just that I didn't want you you to think that I liked him or whatever."
"But do you...you know. Like him?"
"Onew?"
"Yeah."
"Uhm...yes. Because he's my friend."
"Not that way, dummy! I mean do you love him or something?"
"Love him!? No. No." But something felt wrong with that statement.
"Are you sure?" She stared at me carefully.
"Well..I think it's infatuation. I looked it up. And you know, some of the symptoms are there."
"Like what?"
"Like..uhmmm...I forgot. Hmmm..Oh! I get butterflies when I see him." That counts right?
She sighed. "Don't get mad, okay? But I don't think it's just mere infatuation. I think you're inlove with him."
"Me?! Of course not!" I laughed awkwardly.
"and besides, I was just, you know...regretting the broken friendship."
She looked at me. "Uh-huh."
"I'm serious."
"Well I guess that's to be expected. Seeing as how you're so naive. I don't even know why. I'm your bestfriend! Have I taught you nothing at all?!" She frowned.
"I just really need your advice."
"Well, I think you need to think of unique ideas to get him to forgive you. Like today in your report. Wow. That's how you spell tension."She shook her head.
"I wonder what your grade is.."
"That's really helpful." I rolled my eyes.
"Sorry. But think about what I said, okay? Onew seems to like unique ideas based on what he keeps on doing for you. The flowers when he's absent, the treats, the locker full of flowers. Why don't you surprise him for a change?" She shrugged.
"Surprise him?" I thought about it. I'm not so good with those stuffs. This is really going to entail a lot of thinking.
I nodded at her suggestion. At least I have a new plan.
"Hey, were you mad at me these past days?"
"You noticed?" She brightens up.
"Well, yeah. You're hardly talking to me and it feels like you're avoiding me!"
"I was." She beamed.
"Is that something to be happy about?"
"At least you noticed. I thought you didn't care about me anymore."
I snorted. "As if. But why, really? Was it because of the rumors?"
"Yes! Come on, I'm your bestfriend and I find out from some other person--which may I point out, you're not close to at all--that you're dating Onew?! How did you expect me to react?"
"I would expect you to confirm it from me first." I stared at her.
"I would've done that if you didn't disappear all the time. And Onew and the rescues, and the donuts?! The donuts really did it. No guy can resist a donut and he saved you two! And you eating chocolates again and supporting Onew and laughing at his sangtaes...Of course once I put everything together, I was like, they're totally dating. I felt betrayed!" She said dramatically.
"Well, we aren't dating."
"Yeah. I noticed that today in class. I'm sure a lot of people noticed that too. So the rumors would probably die down soon. Which is what you've been praying for, right?"
I would have agreed with her the first 2 days the rumor spread, but I'm totally praying for a different thing now.
"Well...I'm sorry for not telling you. About Onew and me. Even though it was totally innocent."
"And I'm sorry that I jumped to conclusions. I should've known that you needed a friend badly at that moment given your zero people skills."
I smiled ruefully.
"So..." She smiled at me slyly.
"Let's go home together today?"
"Yes! That would really be great!" I beamed.
At least I won't be going home alone today.
She grinned and we grabbed our bags and went out of the school.
I feel less depressed now. Sometimes a friend really is the cure.
We walked hand in hand. I guess we really missed moments like this.
"Hey," I stopped swinging our hands.
"Hm?" She brought out a mirror to check her hair.
"You don't have a poetry club meeting today?"
"Nope--"
"Wow! That's surprising. Seeing as how you guys always hold a meeting. What do you talk about in there anyway?"
"Uhm...I'm not really a part of that club anymore." She looked to the side.
"What?" I stopped walking.
"What?" She made a face.
"Why?"
She sighed. "I quit."
"You did? When?" This was really surprising.
"Two days ago. I just...really can't keep on pretending anymore."
"Huh?"
"You know I'm no good at poetry!"
"Well...yes. But I thought you researched and..."
"I did! But it kept on boring me to tears! And everyone there is so serious and are all for the poetry stuff! And we had to write poetry every single meeting!" She looked scandalized.
"And you know I'm no writing machine like you!"
"Okay, okay. So what do you want to do?"
"Huh?" She was beginning to look normal again.
"Are you going to transfer to another club?"
She looked down. "I don't know."
But I know that look.
"Yes you do. What is it? Tell me." We resumed walking again.
"Well...I really want to get in the--"
"Dance club?" I guessed. She's really good with dancing.
"No."
"Then what? Prom commitee? Drama club? Why don't you just join cheerleading?"
"No." She shook her head. "I want to be somewhere I really want to be."
"And where is that?"
She looked embarrassed.
"The glee club."
"What?! Seriously?!"
"Look, I know I can't sing, okay?!"
"You can. Just not high notes."
"Yeah. That's what I meant. But I really want to enter the glee club!"
"It's because of Jonghyun, isn't it?"
"Yes." She looked away. "Is it so bad?"
"A little." I pursed my lips.
She looked at me.
"Look, I know you don't get it, but some of us really do want to do something for love. UNLIKE YOU. You're so lucky! Love's being offered to you already and with a SUPER HOT guy. Who, I might add, is SMART as well. AND YOU CHOSE TO BE A FREAKING DAMN FOOL."She glared at me.
"Eh?" I shrank a little in fear.
"Never mind." She sighed again.
"Can we get back to the glee club topic now?" I asked in a small voice.
"You have no idea how much I wish it wasn't him."
"Because the auditions are over?"
"Yes. That's why I wish it wasn't him."
"Tell you what, I'll help you." An idea clicked in my mind.
"How? Hey wait, you know him right? As in your buddies? Because of Onew? So you can get me in?!" She looked hopeful.
"Uhm...that's not what I meant."
"Then what?"
"How about a sleepover?"
"Today? Are you sure? There's class tomorrow."
"I know. But we used to do this. Come on!"
"My house?"
"Definitely." I am not sleeping next to Mr. Cownew tonight.
"You're on!"
I have decided something today.
I'm going to help Mika with Jonghyun no matter what.
Because I know what it feels like to be a mess.
And if Onew doesn't want to be friends again, then fine.
I looked at my couple ring for a while.
Then I took it off and placed it in my pocket.
If it's so easy for Onew to ignore me...
Then I'll do the same thing to him.
