A Fresh Start
Order of the Wolf: ReformationThe warm sunlight and light breeze felt amazing as Hansol and Xero walked to class side by side. The past few days had been crazy and it felt strangely nice to be headed to class.
After the group took down Blockbuster, the local news station did an exposé on the secret headquarters, alerting the public of their sinister goals. It didn’t take long for international news websites to pick up the story, and soon the entire world was aware of the reality that almost was.
Zico, Jaehyo, Minhyuk, Yukwon, and Taeil were all deemed terrorists and sentenced to life in a maximum security prison; they were lucky to escape execution.
BTS was allowed to continue operating, as long as they promised to release the kidnapped victims and return them to normal. They were also forced to work as a new branch of the military, rather than an independent unit.
Each member of the order received a Medal of Honor, as well as Jiwon, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook. After that Hansol had to go back to the hospital so he could be officially released (Dr. Jung was not too happy that he disappeared and neither was his mother) and now he and the others were back at the school, trying to resume their lives and put the Blockbuster ordeal behind them.
“I know this might sound like a dumb question… but should we like, hold hands or something?” Xero asked, nervously scratching his head. Hansol giggled.
“Do you want to hold hands?”
“I… guess so,”
“Then let’s do it,” Hansol replied, taking Xero’s hand. Every time they touched, there was a slight spark. Hansol wasn’t sure if it was their magic or something else, but either way he’d grown quite fond of the feeling. Things between the two of them had been slightly awkward, especially since neither had ever been in a relationship before. It was even stranger to go from best friends to boyfriends, but they were trying their hardest to make it work.
“There they are! Hey lovebirds!” shouted Seogoong as he and Gohn rushed to catch up with them.
“What’s up guys?” Xero asked.
“We just thought we’d walk with you guys to class, if you don’t mind… I mean, we don’t wanna interrupt,” Gohn said.
“Interrupt what? We’re just walking,” Hansol replied with a chuckle. Hojoon joined them shortly afterward. He was wearing a hoodie, even though it was quite warm. Hansol immediately felt bad; he knew that Hojoon didn’t want to show his hair. He couldn’t imagine how he must have felt, being completely powerless.
“Uh, hey Hojoon,” Xero said, not making eye contact. Hojoon just waved. It wasn’t long before he parted with them; heading off to his art class, while the others went to Web Design. As soon as they entered the classroom, one of the other students stopped them. He was the same one who made fun of Xero before.
“Hey guys… I just wanna apologize for the way we treated you. You guys saved the freaking world, you’re like superheroes or something. We never should have judged you,” he said with a sheepish smile.
“The past is in the past dude, now it’s all about the future!” Gohn said, patting his back. Hansol smiled when he noticed that their desks had been moved back to their original position.
“Hansol, good to see that you’re okay!” Mr. Cho said as he picked up the large cardboard box that was on his desk.
“Where are you going Mr. Cho?” Xero asked.
“Well I’ve received a promotion so unfortunately I won’t be your Web Design teacher anymore, but you will be seeing me around. If you ever need anything, stop by the dean’s office and we’ll have a chat,” Mr. Cho replied with a wink as he left the classroom. The boys took their seats as a woman entered the room. She had a stern look and she gave off an intimidating aura. Xero’s jaw dropped when he saw her.
“Xero, do you know this woman?” Hansol whispered. He was startled by the loud smack of a book on his desk. The terrifying woman loomed over him and looked directly into his eyes.
“No talking in my class unless I specifically instruct you to do so, understood?” she walked up to the front of the classroom, “I am Mrs. Shin, your new teacher. I don’t know how Mr. Cho ran this class, nor do I care. From now on things will be very different,”
Xero quickly scribbled a note on a piece of paper and passed it to Hansol. He had to keep himself from gasping audibly when he read the words…
“She’s my mom,”
