Return

Order of the Wolf: Reformation

Hansol was buzzing with anticipation and nervousness as he zipped his suitcase.  After six long months, he was finally about to return to the Arario School for Boys.

After the incident between him and Kidoh, the public demanded that the members of the order be forced to leave the school, and receive online schooling until further notice.  Now, after much deliberation, political debates, and hesitation, they were finally being allowed to come back and start the new year… which just so happened to be Hansol’s senior year.

Byungjoo knocked on the door as he opened it, peeking his head in.

“Hyung, you ready to go? Mom’s in the car waiting,” he asked.  Hansol nodded and picked up his suitcase.  Byungjoo had grown quite a bit taller in the past few months, making him a little taller than Hansol now.  His voice had also deepened a bit, but he was still the same kid he’d always been on the inside.

A few minutes later he was in the car and they were on the way to the school.  It wasn’t long until Byungjoo was asleep and Hansol was having flashbacks of the previous year.

The three hour drive seemed to crawl by as Hansol alternated between sleeping and reading. He was distracted by his phone beeping and he smiled when he saw that it was a text from Xero.

From: Xero

Just got here and checked out the room assignment list.  Guess who you’re rooming with? :)

He was overcome with joy at the fact that Xero would be his roommate again.

“Good news?” his mom asked, raising an eyebrow.

“I’m rooming with Xero again,”

“That’s great.  Tell him hello for me,” she replied.  Hansol had introduced his mother to the other members of the order via video chat and she had taken a liking to them, especially Yano, whom she described as “adorable”.

“Byungjoo, wake up, wake up! We’re here!” Hansol practically shrieked.  Byungjoo sat up with a snort as they drove through the golden front gate.  As they unloaded their bags, Hansol noticed that some of the students were giving them harsh looks.

“I’ll miss having you two at home… your magic powers make housework a heck of a lot easier,” their mother said, getting a smile from Hansol.

“Bye mom, I love you,” he said, kissing her cheek.  Byungjoo gave her a big hug and they were on their way.  The fountain in the center of the courtyard had been rebuilt which made Hansol remember his fight with Kidoh… he immediately shook the thought from his mind.

“Finally, you guys are here!” Xero shouted as he ran up to them.  Hansol hugged him and Byungjoo gave him a high five.

“It’s great to see you Xero! I have a question for you… have people been giving you weird looks?” Hansol asked.

“Now that you mention it, yeah.  Can’t say I’m surprised though.  The way the media is portraying us, is making people think we’re monsters.  Sehyuk said he was gonna give up the book as a gesture of goodwill,”

“But we still have so much to learn from it!”

“I know, but we have to do something if we want them to know we mean no harm,”

“Good point.  Where is Sehyuk anyway?”

“On capitol hill…”

“Really!? Doing what?” Hansol asked with wide eyes.

“Participating in a political debate.  They want us to live in segregated communities... but we’ll talk more about that later, for now let’s check out the senior dorms in Skyloft hall,” Xero said, quickly changing the subject.

“I’ll see you guys later, my room’s in Daedalus hall this year,” Byungjoo said, waving goodbye as he left.  Hansol and Xero walked toward Skyloft hall, and gasped in awe when they stepped inside…

There was an enormous study lounge, but Hansol couldn’t imagine how anyone would get any studying done there with the huge television, sound system, and smoothie maker.

“This is so awesome. Being a senior already rocks,” Xero said with a big smile.

“Welcome… to Skyloft,” said someone in an overly dramatic voice, followed by a dorky laugh.  Hansol turned around to see Gohn and Seogoong.  He smiled and hugged them both.

“How cool is this lounge? Wait until you see the rooms!” Seogoong said.

“Let’s check out our new room,” Xero said, pulling Hansol by the hand until they found their room.  Xero opened the door and smiled.  There were two separate beds, each one looked incredibly comfortable.  They had their own miniature refrigerators and the wall had a giant lava lamp built into it.

“This is insane!” Hansol said as he dropped his bags at the door and jumped on the bed.

This was gonna be a good year.

---------------------------------------

Sehyuk desperately tried not to let his anger show on his face.  There was a crowd of people in front of him and cameras pointed in his face.  He tapped his fingers on the podium as his opponent spoke.

“These creatures are a danger to humanity!  There are multiple videos, recorded by the students of the Arario School for boys.  These videos show just how dangerous these creatures are!  This one can breathe fire!” the man shouted, pointing at Sehyuk accusingly.

“Listen, the goal of The Order of the Wolf is not to endanger mankind, but to live alongside them as equals.  To make sure that our intent is understood, I have decided to surrender our Codex.  In it, there is a list of the abilities and weaknesses of every different magical race, among other things,” Sehyuk spoke loudly and clearly.  Sangdo walked out from backstage, and presented the large book to the other man.

“All further arguments will be withheld until we manage to translate every page of this book.  Until that time arrives, you will return to the school… but we’ll be watching you,”

Sehyuk breathed a sigh of relief and nodded.  It wasn’t long before he and Sangdo were being chauffeured back to their hotel.

“What do you think he meant when he said, they’d be watching us?” Sangdo asked.

“No idea, but it can’t be good,” Sehyuk replied.

Chapter 30: I wonder what will happen to the Liberty Corps. Finally! Jiwon has decided to join! Goodluck to him and Jenissi, though :P So this... is the ending. I've only noticed Hansol's character development, and the ending is rushed, to be honest. Off to the next story!

Chapter 28: I like that you don't focus too much in the action moves as they fight because you put some of the characters' thoughts here and there from time to time. If action scenes are all about the moves, I think most of the readers will find a hard time processing all of it and will wonder of a character's exact thoughts during a battle. Indeed, this fight turns out into unimaginable O_O Off to the next chapter!

Chapter 27: A very good idea by the Order. Hope they'll be able to do their plan soon and successfully at that. There's a high chance of things that'll unexpectedly get on their way. And thank God, there's some way with the collar. I'm just hoping Sohee will do the right thing.

Chapter 26: Hm. Guess the Liberty Corps's not that smart as they dont think of any other way of getting to the Order's side. I'm wondering of this connection Hansol and Sohee feel towards each other. Will they be revealed as actual brothers and sisters :D A trilogy sounds exciting!

Chapter 25: So the meeting of the Order and the girls with Hyeontae doesn't turn out good... Hope there'll be a solution to this soon. I understand the Liberty Corps's feelings, but their plan is just so wrong, and the Order's right.

Chapter 24: A very good plan by Hansol! I'm so glad he knows how to handle what's happened. More so, now that Hojoon gets his power back!

Chapter 22: I believe XeSol are able to go thru it all. I sympathize Byungjoo, but really, Hansol can't just give up his and Xero's love just because of what people think or feel. It's their lives anyway.

Chapter 21: It's so unfortunate to have a mom wanting to ruin your life. I salute Xero for still being able to stand her.
