Chapter 62

Third Time Lucky? [EDITING]

Yes, a triple update. turns out I'm just as eager to end this story as you all are. Enjoy

They all reached Mandy’s house and collapsed in the living room of exhaustion, except Jun Pyo, who never got tired of shopping.

“Where are we going tomorrow?” Jun Pyo asked excitedly

“We’ll see” Mandy answered and laid back her head

“Why don’t you take them to the National Museum; they are showing the Nizam collection right now” someone said as they entered the living room.

A huge smile spread on Mandy’s face as she saw who it was.

“Didi!” she shouted as she got up and hugged her sister.

“Unnie, how are you?” Ga Eul asked

“I’m good” Harleen smiled at her

“Yo gang, I think y’all have already met my elder sister” she said to the group

“How are you noona?” Jun Pyo asked. Harleen and Jun Hee had become good friends after they met at Mandy’s birthday party, so Jun Pyo was much closer to Harleen than anyone else in the group.

“Hey Jugnu” Harleen greeted him, carrying on the nickname Mandy had given him. “So what’s up everyone? How did you like Delhi Haat?” she asked

“It was really good” Yi Jung spoke up, he had a blast there as he got to learn so much about Indian forms of pottery.

“We enjoyed a lot, but we are all tired.” Ji Hoo said. Being Mandy’s best friend, he too had talked to Harleen a few times and had gotten sort of close to her.

“How can you get tired so easily? You only went to Delhi Haat, not IITF” Harleen said

“Oh, what a good idea!” Mandy exclaimed “Let’s go to IITF tomorrow” Mandy said excitedly

“Huh?” everyone looked at her

“India International Trade Fair” Mandy explained “it’s only on for 2 weeks and coincidently it’s going to open tomorrow”

“Uh, how big is it?” Woo Bin asked unsurely

“Delhi Haat was less than 1% the size of it” Mandy said and everyone moaned, except of course Jun Pyo.

“Yah! Jun Pyo, how much shopping can you do huh?” Jan Di asked in an irritated voice.

“Okay, then let’s not go shopping” Mandy suggested

“Thank You” Woo Bin gave out a sigh

“But we can go to the National Museum like unnie suggested” Ga Eul spoke up

“That I can handle” Woo Bin said

“He is just like Niya” Harleen said to Mandy and the sisters giggled

“How?” Woo Bin asked

“She doesn’t like shopping too. I mean she does like to shop a little but not the kind that Jun Pyo does” Mandy said and then added “And I do”

“You shop like him?” Ji Hoo asked, gesturing to the Shinhwa CEO.

“Yah! Don’t say like it’s a bad thing” Jun Pyo shouted

“It Is” the whole gang shouted and Mandy and Harleen laughed.

“But unnie” Ga Eul said to Harleen “which collection were you talking about?”

“Oh, the Nizam collection; it’s the exhibition of all the jewelry pieces of the Nizams of Deccan India.”

“Ni-what?” Jan Di said

“Nizams; that was the title given to the kings” Mandy said

“It’s just jewelry?” Yi Jung asked

“Yeah, because that is the thing they were most famous for, but the rest of the permanent exhibits would also be there” Harleen explained

The next day Mandy’s parents returned from their various business engagements and were only going to continue with their professional lives after Mandy’s wedding.

Everyone was having breakfast when Mandy’s mother walked into the room.

“Good Morning” she greeted everyone

“Hey mom” Mandy said, sitting on her chair and raising her hand in acknowledgement.

“Hello” everyone else said politely as they nodded their heads.

“So you all are enjoying your stay here?”

“Yes, you have a very beautiful home” Ji Hoo said

“Mum, you joining us for breakfast?” Mandy asked

“No, I’ll first freshen up and then eat something, just wanted to check on you kids. I’ll go now, enjoy” and Mandy’s mom left the rooms

After breakfast, Mandy took Ga Eul in a corner and reminded her again of the room arrangement.

“Don’t worry unnie, I’ve talked to Sunbae”

“Really? What did he say? Was he upset?”

“He was a bit upset in the start but I made him understand”

“Oh, good”

Over the next 2 weeks the whole gang went to various tourist attractions in the Delhi NCR area, ate the different foods the area had to offer and came back in the evening tired out from the whole day. A day before their last for their stay in Delhi, the whole gang went for wardrobe fittings. They met Niya and Gagan there.

“Okay, guys come out now” Mandy said

She had insisted that the guys try their wardrobe first. She sent the F4 boys and Gagan at the same time in the various changing rooms and all came out together too.

“The shirt is too long” Jun Pyo complained about the Sherwani.

“It’s supposed to be this long” Mandy said as she got up from her seat and checked to see if the fit was proper on him. She then checked everyone else and at last went to Gagan.

“When do I get to see your wedding dress?” he smiled at her

“You don’t” she said as she instructed the seamstress to make some changes in his Sherwani.

“But why?”

“Jugnu” she said turning to Jun Pyo “explain to him why he can’t see me in my wedding dress” she said

“It’s because ‘A bride only dresses up for her to-be-husband; to surprise him’ so you it would not be a surprise if you see it now.” Jun Pyo recited like a robot

Everyone looked at Jun Pyo and then Mandy.

“Yah! Why are you all looking at me like that?” Jun Pyo demanded

“What was that?” Ji Hoo asked Jun Pyo and then turned to Mandy “and why did you ask Jun Pyo to answer?”

“Because that’s how I convinced him at his wedding” Mandy said and everyone understood and laughed. Everyone except Gagan of course

“Will someone please explain what is happening?” he said

“When Jun Pyo got to know on his wedding day that Ji Hoo and Woo Bin had already seen Jan Di in her wedding dress…” and Mandy recalled the whole incident for him.

After the guys got their whole wardrobe settled, it was the girls’ turn. The girls didn’t show their dresses to the guys at all and after getting their wardrobe settled, all vanished into one big room with the designer and a seamstress where Mandy tried all her dresses and gave instructions for modifications.

They all came out after a good 30 minutes and saw awkward expressions on the guys’ faces.

“Why so tense?” Mandy asked when she saw the mood in the room.

“Nothing, just tired of waiting for you” Jun Pyo said and all guys nodded their heads

Mandy then turned to Gagan “You happy now?” she asked him

“Is there a reason for me to be happy?” he asked unsurely

“You wanted to meet the gang right?” Mandy asked rhetorically

“Oh, yeah; it was very nice meeting you all” he addressed everyone

“So, what did you guys do in the half hour we were gone?” Niya asked

“Nothing much, we talked a little, I guess” Woo Bin said, as usual trying to make everyone happy. The reality was that none of the guys had really much to talk about and had spent most of the time just looking at each other awkwardly.

“Uh huh” Niya said cynically

“Oh, cool” Mandy said

“Can we have lunch now, I’m really hungry” Jun Pyo said

“Ok, let’s go home then, I’ll make you lunch” Mandy said

“No, I cannot wait that long; I want something NOW”

“Ok fine but the only thing around here would the food on street carts”

“Perfect, I’m always open to street food”

“Will you all be okay?” she asked the rest of the gang

“Unnie, we’ll be okay” Jan Di said

“I’m not so sure” Woo Bin said

Niya rolled her eyes “spoiled brat” she muttered

“But I’d like to try it” Woo Bin finished, even though indirectly, he had been given a challenge and he was not going to back down.

“If you don’t want to, we can go somewhere else” Mandy offered but Woo Bin stopped her

“I said, I’d like to try; it’s always interesting to try something new” he smiled forcefully.

“Ookaay, I guess” Mandy said uncertainly and led them to the nearest food cart she could see.

“Babu, what do think we should eat first?” Mandy asked Ji Hoo

“Don’t tell me you even ate street food with him in Seoul” Gagan moaned

“Ok then I won’t tell you” Mandy said and giggled

“How much time did you two spend together?” Gagan asked

“A lot” Mandy said “I think almost half of the time” and she looked at Ji Hoo for confirmation, but Woo Bin answered instead

“I think it was more than that; except a few times in the whole year, I think you two were always together”

“We weren’t always together” Ji Hoo said defensively

“No, I think we were; we had all the same classes and we even hung out in the evenings together; I even stayed at your house for about a week” Mandy said

“You stayed at his house for a week?!” Gagan shouted

“Will you quiet down” Mandy hissed to him

“It was only because she was very ill and her apartment was unlivable for a few days, that is why I took her to my house” Ji Hoo started explaining

“You don’t need to give any explanations; it’s not like I committed a crime by leaning on a friend for help and support” Mandy cut Ji Hoo off

“I think…” Gagan started in a serious tone but Niya signaled him with her eyes to not take it further and he changed the topic “I think I should thank you then” he said to Ji Hoo “for taking care of my wife” he grinned and put his arm around Mandy’s shoulders, but she shrugged him off

“I am not your wife” she said impatiently

“Why delay the inevitable?” he grinned again

“Doesn’t look that much inevitable to me right now” Mandy muttered and turned towards the food cart and everyone else looked around awkwardly.

“I think I better go then now, I’ll see you all later” he said and left after eyeing Mandy for a few seconds, who still had her back to him

“Aren’t you going after him?” Niya said

“I thought I was the one who deserved an apology” Mandy said

“Will you at least try to see it from his viewpoint; how would he have felt when he got to know that you spent a whole week at your male friend’s house with no parental supervision whatsoever”

“Why should I, huh? He should know me that well that I wouldn’t have done anything, and even if I did, that’s none of his business. Did I ask about any of his past girlfriends? Nai na; so why should I be answerable to him?”

Niya stopped then and there because she knew that Mandy was in one of her moods and wasn’t going to listen to anyone.

Others just kept staring at each other’s faces but Jun Pyo’s stomach rumbled loudly and Mandy looked at him and smiled

“I’m so sorry, I totally forgot about you”

“No problem, I think I can wait till we reach home”

“Nonsense, we are already here, so let’s eat something” Mandy said and turned towards the food cart seller and told him to serve them a few golgappas.

“Ok so this is going to be tangy” Mandy warned them all as she put one full golgappa in

“We are supposed to eat it all at once?” Yi Jung asked and Mandy nodded because was full

The whole gang stuffed themselves with street food treats like golgappas, papri chaats, tikkis, bhallas and much more.

Then they all returned to Mandy’s house and Niya accompanied them.

“Niya-ssi, are you going to stay with us today?” Woo Bin asked as they were all climbing the stairs which led to their rooms.

“Yep, Mandy asked me to”

“But you two just fought…”

“That was nothing, it won’t affect our friendship”

“It won’t?”

“If you can’t even fight with best friends, then who will you fight with, strangers?”

“I would prefer not to fight at all, and if I want to fight, I can always spar with my trainer”

“That’s what is different between guys and girls. You guys are formal that way even with your best friends; I know that I have that much right on my best friend that I can shout at her and tell her when something is wrong, even if she gets upset.” Niya said and walked into Mandy’s room and shut the door halfway and Woo Bin went into his room.

After a few minutes Mandy popped her head through the door of his room

“Bhai, meeting in my room in five” she said and left

Woo Bin wondered what that was about and changed into a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. He walked barefoot to Mandy’s room and knocked on the half closed door.

I think I might just end this story today because there is a high probability that my net connection is gonna go haywire after today. So get ready people
