Double Update!!!!

Mandy didn’t contact anyone of the gang in the whole week. They also didn’t contact her, thinking she was busy.

After exactly one week of the conversation, a parcel arrived at the F4 lounge. Woo Bin was there to receive it. He called Mandy on her cell phone to tell her about it, but Niya picked up her phone.

“Hello?” Niya said from the other end

“Yes, may I talk to Mandy?” Woo Bin said, not knowing he was talking to Niya

“Um, she is a little busy right now. Why did you call?”

“Would you please tell her that Song Woo Bin called and that he got the parcel she had sent?”

“I know who you are Woo Bin, but I don’t think you have yet recognized who I am” Niya said, chuckling

“I’m sorry, who are you?”

“Her best friend and your new employee”

“Oh, Niya-ssi; you sound so different on the phone. But where is Mandy?”

“Like I said, she is busy. I’ll tell her to give you a call” Niya said and hung up the phone

Woo Bin texted everyone else and they all decided to meet at the lounge in the evening.

They all got together and called Mandy on video chat.

“Hey, you guys. So you got the parcel?” Mandy said as she greeted them

“Uh yeah, that’s why we are all gathered here” Ji Hoo said sarcastically

“Sarcasm doesn’t suit you either” Mandy said

“I know, but I’ve never used it much before” he laughed

“When can we open this parcel?” Jun Pyo asked impatiently

“You can now” Mandy said and Jun Pyo tore open the package

Inside was a gift basket filled with all sorts of things

“What is this?” Jan Di asked

“Search it properly” Mandy urged them and Yi Jung picked up a brightly colored thick envelope.

“Wedding invitation?” Yi Jung read aloud and then looked up at the screen in a confused way “Whose wedding is it?” he asked with the envelope still unopened

“Mine” Mandy grinned at them

“What?!” everyone shouted in unison and Ji Hoo snatched the envelope from Yi Jung’s hands

And there it was, in golden letters ‘Mandeep weds Gaganpreet’.

“Is this some kind of joke?” Ji Hoo said angrily to the screen

“No, why would it be? Why would I joke about my own marriage?” Mandy said in an uncertain way

“I can’t believe this” Ji Hoo muttered as he threw the envelope on the table when he got up and then walked out of the silent room.

“What happened to him?” Mandy commented and just saw fearful and panicked expressions on the faces of everyone.

“Why are you guys being like this?”

Jan Di and Ga Eul decided to contain the situation when they realized that the guys weren’t going to say anything.

“It’s not that unnie” Jan Di said “We are just a bit surprised that’s all”

Now the guys were also getting back to their senses.

“Congratulations unnie” Ga Eul smiled sadly

“But why don’t you all look happy?” Mandy asked again

“You’ll be taken away from us, that’s why” Yi Jung said

“Nobody is going to take me away from you; stop acting like it’s the 19^th century. We live in such a modern age, where we have so many ways to get in touch, and you all have the ipads I gifted you all, so that area is covered.” Mandy said

“I didn’t know you were involved with someone” Woo Bin said

“Oh, I wasn’t” Mandy said and first explained the whole marriage system at her place and then how her wedding got finalized so soon.

FLASHBACK

Mandy’s POV

“Hey listen I’ll call you back okay”

“What happened?”

“Nothing, there are some guests at home. So I’ll talk to you later okay? Bye.” Mandy said to Ji Hoo and she hung up the phone when she saw some people sitting in the main living room.

She soon recognized the people as old friends of the family and went to greet them.

“Sat Sri Akal uncle, auntie” she said in greeting as she met with her dad’s very good friend and his wife.

“Sat Sri Akal beta, how are you?” ‘Auntie’ asked

“I’m fine, how are you?” Mandy smiled at them “When did you return from Belgium?”

“Oh, we got back just last week” the ‘uncle’ replied

“Last week? And you are visiting now? Why so late?” Mandy asked

“We also had to ensure that all of your family was at home” the ‘uncle’ replied and everyone laughed

“So, is Gagan with you?” Mandy asked about her childhood friend

Gaganpreet Singh is the person being talked about here. Mandy and Gagan were very good friends when they were little, but then his family shifted to Belgium. They remained friends and they met up once in every few years, whenever one visited the other’s place. Their parents had actually become friends through them.

“Yeah, he is here” the ‘auntie’ replied

“Then where is he?” Mandy inquired

“He is in your room” Mandy’s father informed her “Go meet him” he said

“What’s he doing in my room?” Mandy demanded

“Now now” her father said “he is guest, and how do we treat guests?” he asked

“Like we would treat God” Mandy sulked “He knows that I don’t like anyone in my room; he did this on purpose” Mandy muttered and went up the stairs to her room.

[A/N: Gaganpreet Kaur is actually a very good friend of mine and I turned her into a male character here. She doesn’t even know I’m using her name. I hope she doesn’t kill me when she finds out. And I’ve always been fascinated by Belgium, so I added that.]

“What are you doing in my room?” she said as she opened the doors to her room.

“Hey, nice to meet you too” Gagan said sarcastically

“With whose permission are you in my room?” Mandy demanded, standing with arms akimbo.

“Why are you so upset? It’s not like I went through your lingerie drawer” he said mischievously “which FYI could use some color.”

“Oh My God, you creep; you went through my drawers didn’t you. You !” Mandy shouted at him and hit him with her shoe.

“Ow, ow, ow; that hurts” he winced as Mandy hit him continuously until he held her wrist to stop her.

“Good, it should” Mandy looked angrily at him but dropped the shoe from her hand and put it pack on her foot.

She then settled down on her bed with a pillow in front of her.

He settled in front of her with a stupid grin on her face.

“It was a joke you know” he said to her

“I know, but you were in need of a good beating” she replied back cockily “So till how long you are here this time?” she asked, getting a bit more neutralized

“Six months”

“That long?! Something special to do?” Mandy asked curiously

“Yep, as a matter of fact, I do have something special to do”

“What?”

“I need to find myself a wife”

“Oh, you need any help with that?” she smirked at him

“No, actually I had someone in mind; but I don’t know if she’ll accept my proposal” he said dramatically

“Oh, who is she?” Mandy asked curiously

“You” he looked straight into her eyes

“Is this your idea of a joke? Coz it ” Mandy said

“It’s not a joke” he looked at her seriously

“Yah! You are such a Bharamtuni!” she shouted at him

“I’m a what?” he asked

“A playboy”

“That I am” he said in a contemplating way but then turned back to her “but it’s all in the past now.”

“And I am supposed to believe this ?” Mandy demanded

“Yeah?” he said in an uncertain way

Mandy looked at him and then burst out laughing.

“What’s so funny?” he asked

“I didn’t know you were such a great actor. Ok now fess up; who put you up to this? Was it papa, was it Niya or was it didi?”

“Nobody put me up to this. This is my decision”

“Yeah right” she rolled her eyes and then went out her bedroom door, towards the living room.

“What are you laughing about?” Mandy’s father asked as she joined them laughing, Gagan on her tail.

“He just made the funniest joke” Mandy said as she gestured towards Gagan.

“What was it?” her mother asked

“That he wants to marry me” Mandy said and laughed out again.

“He does” the ‘auntie’ said

“Omigod, you are all in on this too huh? Nice try, but I’m not going to fall for it” she said and picked up an almond from the serving tray. She was about to put the almond in when she looked at everyone and the almond dropped from her hand. “You all are not joking” she said as statement

“That’s what I said before” Gagan stated, standing behind her

Mandy started hyperventilating and started to fan herself.

“Are you okay?” her mother asked her

“Yeah, I’m fine; excuse me a moment please” and she ran to her bedroom.

She closed the doors behind her as she entered her room and started looking around in panic. She then took out her cell phone from her pocket and dialed her sister. She picked up after two rings.

“Did you know about it?” Mandy asked straightaway

“Yes” came a weak reply

“Why didn’t you tell me?!” Mandy demanded

“What would I tell you that ‘Hey mom and dad selected a guy for you and turns out he wants to marry you too, and guess what, he is your first crush?”

“Um, yeah; you should have told me about this”

“I only got to know about it like six hours ago and your cell phone was out of coverage area then”

“I was at a medical camp”

“Yeah, I got to know”

“So what should I do?”

“Just talk it out with him” her sister suggested

“How?”

“He is your friend, talk to him like you do every time”

“This is not like every time; and he is not a friend anymore” Mandy hissed at the phone

“Would you consider marrying him?”

“I don’t know, maybe, I guess. I mean he’s my first crush! I seriously don’t know how to handle this” Mandy said in a panicked tone

“Just talk to him and see where it goes from there” Harleen said and then hung up

Mandy took a deep breath, looked at herself once in the mirror and then opened the doors, only to find Gagan standing outside with a stupid grin on his face.

“How long have you been standing here?” Mandy demanded

“Just long enough” he said as he entered her bedroom.
