Lay managed to get up and hurry to Kai. “Can you stand up?” Lay offered his hand. “I think,” Kai flinched as he pulled himself up. “Sujin, can you do it again?” Lay asked me but the darkness won’t go into my power. “I can’t. Mianhe,” I muttered. “It’s alright. Let’s just hurry to the building, the hunters are surely gone,” Lay said as he assisted Kai in walking.

We soon encountered KyungSoo with locks of hair in his grasp. He glared at it. He had a discontented expression on his face. “That sneaky little hunter…” He muttered under his breath. “KyungSoo-ah! Can you help us with Kai?” Lay shouted. KyungSoo silently went near us, still having those locks of hair in his hand.

KyungSoo took Kai’s left arm and helped in assisting him. “What’s that, hyung?” Kai asked. “Hair,” KyungSoo timidly answered. “No, um, where did you get it?” Kai asked again. “From that female hunter. She was the same hunter. She had this fear in her eyes surprisingly,” KyungSoo told us.

“Same hunter? What do you mean?” I asked. I tried to keep silent since I might say something idiotic and it can earn me a scolding but the urge to know was strong. “She was the same hunter that…” KyungSoo pursed his lips. “The same hunter that killed my mate,” he said after pausing a few seconds.

“That girl didn’t look like she can kill,” I remarked. “She can. All hunters can kill. Don’t let her deceive you. Humanity may take over but her instincts as a hunter prevail in the end. Hunter blood is something strong and its call cannot be avoided,” KyungSoo said as he turned to me. His eyes flickered red in the moonlight.

Once we entered the building, we saw Choi diligently her fingers, cleaning herself up from the last battle. Luhan was treating Kris who was awfully hurt. Kris himself had deep wounds all over his arms and his clothes were full of scratches and blood marks. Luhan looked he was hurt badly too, with his cheek wounded, his ears bleeding and his hand having their own sets of injuries. Choi didn’t look like she was harmed though.

Even if she was, I am sure she didn’t care. She was that strong after all. “The battle was amusing,” Choi said as she noticed our presence. Luhan turned to us and told Lay,” Quick. Treat the alpha. The others may have been wounded too by the other hunters. There are still three hunters we haven’t seen.”

Lay carefully put Kai down on the floor and aided Luhan in treating Kris’ wounds. “It was always like this. They only care about the alpha or the most useful member of the pack. I’m useless unless transportation was needed,” Kai muttered. He lightly held where Rae shot him and cussed, so quietly even I am not able to hear it.

“Hey, Sujin,” Choi got up. Blood splattered all over her clothes and skin. It complimented her in a way. Gruesome backgrounds best suited her after all. “Want to check out if the boys are being the men they should be?” She offered as she ran in front of me. It was obvious she wanted to see the boys suffering.

Choi is really a sadist. I pity Chen for having her sometimes.

I couldn’t say no so I nodded. She immediately grabbed my wrist and dragged me outside. “You know, you can’t defeat any of these men,” Choi told me as she walked. She didn’t look back at me and didn’t attempt to match my gaze. “I know that,” I muttered, full of annoyance. “That’s why I don’t rebel,” I added.

“They already had darkness in their hearts so that practically destroys the main power of your darkness. Even if you train your power to it maximum extent, it could take all your energy to defeat them,” Choi told me. “I know. Darkness was already in their hearts to begin with. Nothing is darker than a wolf with his sad past,” I said as I sighed.

We soon saw the others, blood staining their bodies. “Are you guys alright?” Choi asked but she hurried to Chen. “Where’s Lay?” Suho asked as he tried to get up. “In the building. Kris got badly hurt. He was absolutely useless during the battle,” Choi sighed before smirking. “Baekhyun, I think you and Sujin can help in healing the others. The poison in the bullets, arrows and daggers the hunters had are filled with darkness,” Chen said.

“How can I--?”Baekhyun was cut off when I unconsciously approached him and waved my hand over his wounded neck. I muttered something in a language I didn’t know and the wound closed up. Dark coloured blood went into my hand and I closed it into a fist. Baekhyun was speechless at what happened and rotated his neck.

“It’s all better,” Baekhyun said in amazement. “And I thought darkness couldn’t affect you wolves much. I thought wrong,” Choi said as she winked. “Now, hurry, the others are badly wounded. You can put me last,” Suho said as he tried to get up again. I only nodded and motioned Baekhyun to follow my lead.

I wasn’t aware of what I was doing but soon, half of the people there were already back to normal. “How are you able to control your power?” Baekhyun said as he waved his hand over Chanyeol’s wrist, causing it to glow. “I… don’t know,” I answered. “It comes… naturally? I don’t know how to control it again,” I said as I clutched my fists.

“Look up to see the answer,” Choi said as she pointed up and smirked. We all looked up and saw the moon covered by the clouds. “And?” Suho asked as he held onto his wrists, checking if it was all better. “It’s easier to control darkness if it’s around you, isn’t it, Sujin?” Choi said as she looked at me, a smirk still plastered on her face.

“I…” I shrugged. “I really don’t know.”
