Miyoung POV:

I squeezed the stuffed bear.  "This is the first birthday present that I got since I was ten."

"Huh?  Was it your birthday today, Miyoung?" Ryeowook walked in with a stack of cards.

"No, I was just talking to myself."

"Liar."

"What?"

"Your parents sent you a birthday card."

"You looked at my mail?"

"Well, Lee Miyoung, it says happy birthday on the front of the card."

"Oh."

"Open it.  I want to see what you got!"

"I'll do it later."

"Now!"

"Later!"

"Open it now, or I'll tell the others that it was your birthday today!"

"Eh?"

"Please?"

"Fine."  I tore the envelope open gently.  A pair of earrings and a cell phone charm fell out.

"They're nice," Ryeowook said.

"My mom loves buying earrings for me," I replied.

My phone vibrated.  Noona, happy birthday!

"Who was that?"

"Taemin."

"He knew, but I didn't?"

"How did you know?"

"I can see your phone from here."

"I'm going to make a snack.  Do you want?"

"Sure."

Ryeowook walked out of my room.

"Kim Ryeowook!"

"Ryeowook-ah, why didn't you tell us?"

"Ryeowook-ah!"

"You knew, but I didn't?"

"What are you yelling about!" I yelled from the top of the stairs.  It was eleven at night, and I couldn't fall asleep because of all the noise.

"Lee Miyoung!  It was your birthday."

"Yes."

"You didn't tell us."

"Because you would all freak out, just like you are now."

"But we're practically family!  You should tell us these things!"

"Guys, I don't want you to plan a party."

"Miyoung!"

"I hate my birthday, okay?"

"Miyoung-ah."

"Just drop the subject."

"But--"

"I'm going back to bed."
