He turned his car’s steering wheel with one swift turn to the right and entered his complex’s parking garage.  Both of them did not say a single word during the 30 minute drive, it wasn’t that they didn’t have anything to say but more of, they had too many things they wanted to talk about.  They just didn’t know where to begin.

‘Earth to Shin Hye, we’re here.  Do you want to come up for coffee?’ Min Ho half jokingly but was secretly hoping she would say yes.

‘Coffee? You said this was a pit stop…Ani, I’ll just wait for you here’ she avoided his gaze.  As tempting as it was to set foot into his apartment and the thought of the two of them alone sorting out their feelings for one another was too dangerous.  She might not be able to resist him and try her nose tease act again. 

‘Are you sure? It’ll be really hot in the car.’ He was disappointed she didn’t pounce on the opportunity to visit his home.  Every girl that has been interested in him bugged him day in and day out to get him to invite them to his home.  Each time he had refused, his home is his only private shelter that he has that protects him from all the chaos of being a Hallyu star, its his refugee.

‘Yep, I’ll just open a small crack of the window to let some air in.  I’ll be fine, I’m a grown woman.  If anything happens, I’ll call you’ she took her cell phone and waived it inches from his face.

‘Arraso, I’ll be back in a few minutes, don’t miss me for too long’ he sighed in defeat and left for the elevators.

Shin Hye unlocked her phone to text her father to let him know that she was going to be coming home late.  This was a rule he put in place when she first started acting.  If she was going to be coming home later than 12am she needed to text him so that he knew where she was.  Once she forgot to text him when she was shooting for Heartstrings, they were behind schedule and had to shoot non stop for 24 hours, by the time she arrived home at 8am her father was frantically recounting the last time he talked to her to the two policemen sitting in her living room.  It turns out he was so worried that he called the police station to file a missing daughter report.

As she was getting ready to send the text, her phone suddenly died.  She let out a deep sigh and shook her head at her sudden misfortune, no battery.  Her eyes travelled around Min Ho’s car to see if he had a spare phone charger lying around.  She really wanted to get this text out, she didn’t want her father to think Min Ho kidnapped her and call the police to report him so that they can track her down.

How embarrassing of a newspaper headline would that be “Park Shin Hye’s Father Accuses Lee Min Ho of Kidnapping His Daughter”.  If that happens, I will dig myself a 12 foot hole and jump into it…aiish.  Where can a phone charger be…think Shin Hye where do you put yours. 

Her eyes stopped at the glove compartment right above her legs.  Yes, this is where she puts her charger and moved her right hand towards the release to open it.  To her surprise, instead of the phone charger she found straight in front of her was a glass shaped star jar filled with some paper folded stars.  She knew she shouldn’t, but she was curious about the jar and what was inside.  She gently reached for it and slowly removed it from the glove compartment making sure she didn’t move his other items there.  If the jar wasn’t intended to be given to her, she didn’t want him to find out that she rummaged through his things.  They were comfortable with each other, but they weren’t to the stage that they were that comfortable. 

She brought the glass star jar to her eye level, turning it side to side in her hand to examine the beautiful, intricately folded paper stars.  As she was looking through the cracks of the paper stars, she swore she saw glimmer of light.  There’s something inside the jar that is causing a reflection.  She blinked her eyes frivolously to make sure they weren’t lying to her.

Clunck!

Shin Hye turned her head to the left towards the echoing of the doors of the elevator bank closing.  It didn’t take her another second to register that he was back.  Without any second thoughts, she placed the glass star jar back to its original place and swiftly closed the compartment.

‘Shin Hye ah, what are you looking for?’ Min Ho opened the driver seat door and looked at her suspiciously while he was juggling the items he had in his arm.

‘Hehe you caught me! I was trying to find a phone charger, I need to text my parents to let them know where I’m at’ she placed both hands up and open in front of her face while smiling in hopes he didn’t catch her rummaging through his glove compartment.

‘Here’ with one swift throw, he threw the items in his arm into the backseat of the car and handed her a phone charger from the side compartment on the bottom corner of the driver side’s door.

‘Thanks’ she sheepishly answered and concentrating on attaching the charger to her phone.

Shin Hye now is a good time to change the topic…think of something

‘Oppa, what did you get?’

‘I’ll tell you after you send your text.  I need your full attention and possibly your eyes, but I’ll wait’ he responded with a grin.

Min Ho was intently watching her tap away at her screen, waiting for her to finish so that he can begin the plan he devised during their drive to his place. 

‘Ok, I’m done, can you tell me now?’ she tilted her head slightly left to meet his gaze.

‘Hmm…a blanket, pillow, one mug with coffee, one mug with hot cocoa’ he brought his fore finger to his chin and started to tap it like he was in an intense mode of thinking.

‘Are we going camping? It’s too cold…I don’t have the right clothes’ she started to ramble.

He puckered his lips and make a low humming noise, ‘Close, good guess, but not good enough.  I forgot one more thing.’

Min Ho reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a black handkerchief.  He quickly took it and folded it into a rectangle.  He snapped his fingers and to distract her train of thought and instantly tied it around her eyes.

‘Yah, Lee Min Ho! What are you doing?’ she yelled in confusion.

‘Shhh’ he took his fore finger and placed it on top of her lips to silence her.  ‘I’m kidnapping you for the night’

‘Kidnap?! When does a kidnapper tell the victim that she is being kidnapped!’

‘Huh, you’re right!’

‘I know I’m always right.’ Her hand reaching to the back of her head to release the handkerchief from her covered eyes.

‘Don’t touch it! If you do I will have to punish you…maybe a kiss or I can reenact your nose tease on you’ he huskily responded while grabbing onto her hand that wanted to pull off the handkerchief.  ‘I promise I won’t hurt you, I just want to bring you somewhere.  Just sit tight, relax and listen to some music.’
