Final (Chapter Twenty-Six)
Fragile Hearts
Jieun secretly glared at Sunggyu for asking her that question but cleared as if she wasn't bothered by it. "Who would I pick?" She pretended to think, "Dongwoo. He's nice and he doesn't tease me like the rest of you do" She shrugged, returning the smile Dongwoo gave her. "I call bull" Sungyeol muttered. "Lies" Myungsoo continued, the rest of infinite shaking their head as if disappointed at Jieun's answer.
As if she would answer Myungsoo, it would be too obvious then. Her flushed cheeks would give it away. She proceeded to spin the bottle and as if fate was playing with her, it landed on her one sided crush. "Truth or dare?" She asked, wiggling her eyebrows. He laughed slightly at her playfulness, "Truth. We can play dare when we're alone in your room later" Everyone whistled causing Jieun to roll her eyes.
"Thanks for reminding me to lock my room later" Myungsoo pretended to be offended but she knew, he'll eventually end up in her room anyway. She pursed her lips, thinking of what to ask when Jaekyung decided to cut her off and blurted "Tell us your ideal type in a woman!" If looks could kill, Woohyun would be crying over his girlfriend's shredded body. She gave Jieun a winked before mouthing "I got this"
"Yeah, tell us!" Jieun mimicked her friend's cheerfulness sarcastically. "She has to be y, that's a must" Myungsoo smirked and as he continued, she could feel her shoulder's deflating as the girl he described was nothing like her. "She sounds exactly like the girl you brought home weeks ago" Sunggyu chuckled, "Oh the one in red!" Hoya added and everyone began to agree with Sunggyu's statement. Weeks ago? She stiffened at the thought of him sleeping with someone else just weeks ago. Thanks for adding salt to the wound, Jieun thought bitterly and exchanged glances with her best friend who rolled her eyes. "Okay, that's enough. I asked your ideal type, not your manwhore journey. I'm sleepy, let's call it a night" Jaekyung pouted, her head resting against her boyfriend's shoulders. Jieun nodded thankfully, she was getting tired of being rejected by Myungsoo indirectly. If friends is all that they will ever be, she should push aside her feelings and not be selfish. Yes, he gives her mixed signals and flirts shamelessly but that's what close friends do, right? "I'll see you guys tomorrow" She faked a yawn and pretended not to hear Myungsoo calling her name. "Distance yourself from him, maybe you're in love with the idea of him being there with you always instead of actually being in love with him" She whispered, scrolling down the website she had been on for over 10 minutes after searching 'How to get over your best friend' on Google. Jieun smiled proudly, she can do this. How hard can it be? "Why are you avoiding me?" Jieun looked up from the book she was reading only to face a shirtless and wet Myungsoo. Everyone decided to spend time at the pool today and although she didn't feel like swimming, Jaekyung forced her to be at the swimming pool with the bikini she bought hence the reason why she's lying down on one of those folded chairs with a book in her hand. "Avoiding you? I'm not avoiding anyone" She snorted, focusing her eyes on the book again although the sight of Myungsoo made her internally melt. She mentally slapped herself, she was supposed to move on, not fawn over him! "You are a terrible liar. Just an hour ago you told me you had plates to wash when I clearly saw you doing it thirty minutes ago and all I did was say Hi" Jieun felt bad for doing so, he didn't deserve to be ignored. It's not his fault she fell for him. "I'm not avoiding you, okay? Now go swim or something, I have a book to finish" She muttered, tightening her grip on the book. "If you say so," He replied, coldly. Jieun expected him to join the rest in the pool again but instead he left and got in the house. "Congrats for ruining our friendship, Lee Jieun" She mumbled. The day went by quickly and everyone was making their way back to their room after dinner. Myungsoo gave her the cold shoulder throughout the whole day. Well she had no one else to blame but herself. He even excused himself earlier which wasn't like himself. She sighed in defeat and opened her room door. The sight of him casually sitting down on her bed, suprised her. "How long have you been in here?!" She cried, a hand over her chest to calm herself down. "Since I went upstairs" He shrugged and stood up so the both of them could face each other. "Did you actually think I would sulk like a baby just because you won't talk to me? I thought you knew me well" He cocked his head to the side, observing Jieun who was biting her lips. A sign that she was nervous, a habit of hers that Myungsoo knew too well. "I know you well enough, sadly" She confessed, "But that still does not give you any rights to enter my room without my permission" She continued while crossing her arms. "Cute" He replied and sat down, patting the space next to him. She pouted but like always, she sat down like a puppy following its owner's orders. "Now, tell me what's wrong" He said, bumping his shoulder with hers softly, but Jieun refused to meet his gaze. "Nothing" She lied, playing with her fingers. "Are you upset your plan didn't work?" She looked up, confused. "What plan? She asked. "I'm not planning anything. Are you sick?" Jieun babbled nervously and touched his forehead. "Huh, you aren't. Drunk maybe?" She joked, but Myungso
