Changed.

Kaiminzy.

Sequel to 'Broken' & 'I didn't mean to, but I love you.'

She was that girl. That girl who felt that the abuse was as painful as how their relationsip was. Maybe some people are built stronger than others. Maybe she's one of those people built to handle s like that. Maybe she's the person who's almost the guardian angel to a particular someone, to be there when they're not strong enough, when they're not understanding the world, when they just need someone to encourage them in a positive way and say the right thing. Maybe she was brought into this world to face these challenges and come back - steel and hard. Maybe that's why she accepted him back again.

She learned how people don't understand him. They were oblivious with the hardworks he'd given and the passion he potrays in his work. But after a while, she realises how in whatever bad situation he or she is in, they're the enemy. They want the best for each other, but if they remind one another of their failures, or the bad moments of their life, or even if any of them says they're willing to put up with something, they would still think less of each other - because he believes she doesn't deserves what he's going to give and vice versa. Call this a complicated love, but they're still more than willing to give the marriage a second chance.

To give both of them a second chance.

Months had past after the incident and the bad memories flew as time passes by. Though the first few months was still painful. Not because he was still mean or she was still depressed - but because it was painfully awkward and he had no idea how to fix it up completely. The silence was deafening everytime he was home and though Kai knew how hard it was for her, he made sure she stayed by his side. Despite being quite, they enjoyed each others company. None had spoken about it and none knew what was the reason. They denied in the minds silently everytime they thought it was because they were still afraid of each other. They brushed off the thought all the time because they couldn't handle fear anymore. That emotion was a living hell and they didn't want to live through it anymore. Thankfully it lasted for the first two months. He opened up one day, telling her it wasn't going to work out if they don't talk and take the initiative to do anything. It was obvious they craved each others prescence and now all they have to do is talk. And a single conversation gradually led to something bigger. Changes had been hard for Minji to not notice and they were both in a much better place now because exactly on February 23rd 2015, the doctor confirmed she was pregnant. It was a rough pregnancy for her because she gained weight and she was very sick. As the pregnancy progressed, she craved different types of food and her clothes were beginning to be too tight for her body frame.

"How's both my babies?" Kai's hand ghosted on Minji's waist, slipping an arm around it slowly as she was typing away on her laptop.

"Both?"

"Yea," Kai rubbed her tummy. "Both my princess and prince."

Minji chuckled. Another thing she learned about him was that he was completely greasy and cheesy, it could kill. "We're doing great."

Her fingers stopped, stretching her arms with a groan as she pushed the laptop away gently as it bounced lightly on the mattress. She leaned back against his chest, closing her eyes with a sigh. She had been writing for the past two hours non stop and it only drains her when she stops and realise how long she had been doing her work. Kai loved how passionate she was when it comes to her work but he couldn't watch his pregnant wife dealing with constant tiredness and stress.

"You should really rest. You very well know that can wait and the company wouldn't mind giving you some time off." Kai tugged on her lightly, turning her around as she sat on his lap, facing him.

"I know, I just -" Minji gulped. His full dark eyebrows arching as he urged her to continue but she can't  just because he looked extremely hot doing that.

"Babe?"

"Well.. you're not home till night and I can't just laze around as if I have nothing do when I obviously do. And you know how once I start something I can't stop for a period of time."

"Then I'll stay at home."

Minji scoffed, shaking her head as she sighed. "Kai. You haven't been home eversince I had the baby. I can handle it."

"Well it's kinda different now. Your tummy's huge now, it could come out anytime soon."

"Like how your eyeballs will if you still insist on staying home." Minji rolled her eyes, pushing him as he laid on the bed. "Let's go to sleep and I'll wake you up for work. I'll be fine okay, I love you."

-

She woke up at about 3 hot and unpromising November noon with the disquieting sense that her waters were beginning to break. She wandered about the house for an hour or so, feeling some relief that the waiting might be over, which was dwarfed by terror at the immediate future. Eventually she returned to the living room, eagerly trying to reach for her cellphone. Her waters did seem to be breaking, but there was no unmistakable and reassuring event taking place. She rang the hospital and was told she should come in. Sweat trickled down her forehead as she desprately pressed on Kai's number. By now she could begin to feel the intermittent internal cry of pain. Anticipation is her thing; she is lost without expectations of some kind, but despite having heard a great deal about birth, and most of it unpleasant, she was still facing a vast unknown. Kai answered in a few rings,

"Ka-kai I, it's coming, I just, please come, please." Her breathless voice heard over the phone as he got up from his chair, Dashing out of his office as he rushed to the car. Good thing he was the boss. His shaky voice told her to be patient, reassuring her that the ambulance would be coming and he would be there in no time. Her face scrunched up in a blissful pain as she groaned, the phone falling onto the carpet as she shouted.

They had never made such good time to the hospital before, and she was doubly glad to see it when she was disembarked outside its haven-like entrance doors that glowed with warmth and electric light. Kai arrived not too long after as he egerly parked the car and she was staggered through those double doors and spent a quiet moment with herself in the cold and bright hallway to the labour room laying on her side as she tried fighting through the pain. At this point of time all she wanted was someone to comfort her in a uniform to examine her and tell her it would all be over soon, in the next half hour if possible. She is a coward, and giving birth never struck her as a moment for heroics. She didn’t feel like an earth mother in touch with the wonderful processes of nature as my baby entered the world, she felt like she was being tortured. Her contractions were irregular and it seemed that the baby and her were spine to spine internally. A familiar figure busted through the door, his face worried and his palms were sweaty.

The fifteen minutes or so before giving birth, she was awaiting to finally lose it and swear and curse and dole out blame for her condition on any innocent bystander, and on her very guilty husband. Having never been the kind of person who tantrums, especially with her past, she'd been looking forward to this, as it seemed the only culturally permitted moment of quite reasonable rage at the female condition. But alas, with her drugs she was doomed to a lifetime of politeness, and as the light began to fade the midwife made the decision for her that it was time to start pushing.

Minji could feel the tight grip on her hand as Kai continously let out words of encouragement which to be honest, didn't help. Nothing would help ease the horrible pain. Finally, she stopped shaking. . Finally, she thought the end was in sight, but everything about birth had taken longer than she expected, and she pushed at that baby for an hour and a half. Just when her lovely midwife was making unpleasant noises about cutting and ventouse cups, her child decided to put in an appearance. In great excitement the midwife said to Minji: ‘Give me your hand.’ And she took her hand and placed it on the top of her baby’s head as it was emerging. She had never before or since known such a magnificent moment. She was not much of a one for miracles, but she could feel beneath her fingertips the soft, alien skin, the top of a rubbery boned head, the sense of wondrous, unknowable, new life. In two pushes her son was born and the room filled with a loud cry. Minji stared at the wallpaper, breathing hard whilst Kai, equally squeamish, memorized the pattern of the floor tiles, and they shed tears of triumphant relief as the midwife cut the cord and weighed and washed our son.

Nine months of pregnancy, fifteen hours of labour, and now a lifetime of parenthood. She did not begin it with class. Once it was all over, reaction set in, and impossible as it had seemed, she now felt worse than she had done in labour. Minji bonded with a blue washcloth and refused to let go, until it was peeled, bone dry and crunchy, out of her agonised grip. Kai sat in the corner of the delivery room, cradling their newborn son in his arms and she was exquisitely grateful for him. Minji was wheeled down to the ward after a long rest - though it wasn't enough. Sensation gradually returning to her legs as she lifted herself up when the door slid open, revealing the nurse pushing her son in as Kai walked cheekily behind the lady. The nurse smiled, leaving the both of them alone. Kai frowned seeing how she was having diffuculties in sitting up as he rushed to aid her, lightly grabbing her waist as they sat silently. It broke him to see her controlling the tears threatening to fall. She had been strong for so long and she wanted to be strong infront of their child. She picked the baby up, craddling it in her arms as she gently traced the boys' features.

"He's so handsome Kai." He could hear her voice cracking as he smiled affectionately, pulling her closer to him as he wrapped an arm around her waist.

"Ofcourse baby. Look at me," Kai chuckled, pecking her temples as they enjoyed the newborn company.

"I just," Minji let a tear fall after months, sighing as she leaned her head back to her husband's shoulder. "It's been a long journey for us and I can't believe we're here now."

"I made it hard for you honey. You're the strongest and the most beautiful woman in the entire world to me. Ofcourse you would've made it this far. And I admire you so much for that and I want you to be happy. You brought this beautiful creature into this world and we're gonna make sure he'll be in a better place in the future. For you. For him. For me. And for us."

-

"No appa appa, is no no!"

Those were the only two words Minho had learned and the only two words his parents could comprehend. The rest were simply gibberish. Minji sat back on the couch, staring at Kai as he played with the baby. Appearing here and there just to satisfy Minho and it was making Minji all mushy. She took a sip of her tea, completely neglecting the movie on the TV when she had been wanting to watch it for the past weeks. But there was no way she could ignore the way Kai and Minho fooled around as they played with each other. Completely enjoying their time while she was just there. Sitting. Staring.

"Minho wants to sleep now is it?" Minji called her child out, chuckling at how his head bounced everytime he tried staying awake. Kai laughed along, scooping the child up as they both head Minho's room, placing him in the crib gently. They watched how the boy snuggled closer with his soft toy and slept peacefully not long after.

Kai closed the door gently, grinning as he turned around. He frowned, seeing how Minji was glaring at him before he was dragged back into their room.

"Minji wha-" Kai arched an eyebrow when he was pushed down roughly into the soft mattress as he bounced lightly. Her legs spreading to straddle him as she pulled her shirt over her head. Kai's words were muffled when she leaned down to kiss him, a touch of eager and desperate vibe into it as he pulled her away with slight force.

"What is wrong with you?" It wasn't like he didn't like it. Man, he would have rough with her all day but it was all so sudden he needed time to sink in everything.

She saw how she bit her lips, leaning forward slightly to nip on his neck. Gradually moving upward as she whispered. "You were so good with him just now.." Her voice sensually seductive and his pants were tightening. He grabbed her waist, rubbing circles around it as if waiting for her to finish what she had to say.

"We should make another one."
