Minji gazed sombrely from where she was sitting on his narrow yet comfortable bed, noticing and despising the white walls. 

Ugly colour, she thought. She would've preffered them if it was brighter or specifically purple. The white flourescent lights seemed to poke holes at the back of her eyes, burdening her with the most piercing headache she had ever experienced. Little girls should know nothing of such pain, she thought - yet again. But she's a grown woman now. Old enough to be send off for the long awaited arranged marriage. The walls joined his white doctor's uniforms, the white walls, white floors and ceilings, white drapes and the white sheets which cacooned the king sized bed perfectly. She began to realize the hatred she had for white. It's purity was marred too easily; by food, or vomit and unmentionable stains. White meant a whole lot more than just purity and innocence because even though she lived with the surrounding of that colour, her heart and soul had yet turn the same. 

It was all black. 

She had no idea how far could she go with the treatment she's getting. Arranged marriage meant running away from her abusive parents but it also equals to another world of abusing from a different person. From a man whom vowed to be her husband with a disgusted face, from a unbelievably attractive man and also from a healthy and wealthy man. Though the scars on her heart and the light ones on her body were still there, waiting to be healed, she couldn't see herself going back to her parents. That place was horrific and eventhough Kai was no different, he wasn't exactly the same. He fed her still, he leaves her alone when she was not required to do anything, he doesn't bother her nor finds fault in her. He was no that bad and she could live with it. The lack of love that was given to her throughout her whole life was something she was immune to. She had never seen herself being genuinely happy and that saddens her but 'sad' was indeed her middle name. She grew up in an aura of sadness and would probably leave the earth the same. Amidst it all, here she was, in her husbands room. It was getting tiring as months passed by. The mansion was huge and it may take hours to finally clean it like how Kai preferred. She was exhausted. Depressed. So many feelings combined but none that explains the feeling of joy and happiness. It was getting late. The skies were gradually changing its colour and it turned dark not long after. Kai would be home by now but she was way too lost in her thoughts,drowning completely in sadness and exhaustion not realising the door creaking open, welcoming her husband as he stared at her presence. 

"I remebered telling you to clean my house. But I don't recall myself giving you the permission to sit on my bed." 

His voice alone was enough for her to flinch as got up straight away. Her fingers wrapped tightly around the dirty cloth as she looked down, afraid of facing him. Biting her lips nervously, she bowed carefully, welcoming him home as she began walking towards the door. Her heart was still racing. He was standing right infront of the door, his eyes never leaving his wife as he watched her every move. Kai was the definition of intimidating and she always felt so small and useless when it comes to him. Then again, she never really felt capable when it comes to anybody. Urgh, growing up sad . Minji closed the door gently, letting out her breath in relief. It was so scary she felt like she was going to die then and there. She let out an exasperated sigh as she head to kitchen. Thinking of it, he might actually kill her if he goes down without seeing his coffee on the table. 

His footsteps were heard an hour later as he walked to the kitche. He took in her flinch, the wide eyes, the gasp - her entire body language when she realised he was there. Minji placed the cup carefully on the kitchen table as he sat down, his right leg drapping over the other. His eyes averted from his phone a minute later when he sees her figure walking towards him with a white paper bag hanging on the fingers.

"This - uhm, that lady told me to give it to you when she brought you back when you were drunk.." Kai's eyes were staring right through her before he looked inside the bag, seeing a brand new white dress shirt with a navy blue tie His eyes went back to her as he threw the paperbag on the floor, his eyes not leaving her as he watch her flinch in shock. Standing up, he was ready to walk away before heard her soft voice. 

"Is she.." He stopped, waiting for her to continue. "Is she your girlfriend?"  

"Even if she is, don't act like you have the rights to know anything about me." 

"But I do.."

He stopped again, turning around as he looked at her. "What?"

"I said I do. I do have the rights to know. I'm your wife." 

Kai smirked, he was so close and she was beginning to regret whatever she did. "In papers sweetheart. In ing papers. You are nothing to me. You're a lifeless piece of who is incapable and is low life who does nothing. You're out of my league and you know that. I don't have to emphasize over and over again now do I, hm?" 

She felt her heart fell right to her stomach. That hit her harder than she thought it would. He had said and done things that were far worse but this brutally honest confession had never killed her so much. She was dissapointed, tired and it wasn't doing any good to how she was feeling. But since now they were talking, she wanted to end it. She wanted to end whatever they're doing even if it turns out bad.

"That was rude, mean, insensitive and horrible."  Kai arched an eyebrow, taken aback by her outburst as she continued. "I'm lifeless? You made me this way. You stopped me from finding a job. You locked me up here. You were controlling me. Low life ? I am a university graduate with a degree that could make me just like you "Dr. Kim".  YOU MADE ME INTO THIS, YOU MADE ME FEAR MY OWN LIFE, YOU MAKE ME WANT TO DIE EVERYDAY, YOU MAKE WANT TO STAB MYSELF IN THE FACE. YOU MAKE ME CRY EVERYNIGHT TO SLEEP. YOU'RE THE MONSTER. YOU'RE THE ING-" 

Minji held her cheek, touching the red mark he had just made as a tear began slip down her pale cheeks. Her vision was hazy, covered in tears that were begging to fall out. Her eyes were still on the ground, her mind was completely blank, her cheek was stinging from the shocking pain. It hurt. Physically and emotionally. She was let down yet again. Her soul was black, her heart was crushed into a billion pieces, her body was weak. And what hurt her the most was that she thought

he was different. 

His eyes soften not too long after. He stared at his hand, trembling as he do so. He just hit a woman. The woman he vowed to protect and love though it was by forced. It was insane. Kai was a horrible individual and now he's just a monster. Kai was a womanizer, someone who was selfish but never once have he hit a woman. Better yet, a woman whom has long claimed to be his wife. Everything he thought of her. Everything he had told her do. And the way she had turned to be, it was clearly an error in judgement. He took her lightly, he took advantage of a submissive woman, not realising he had torn her into pieces and it made him cringe how broken she is on the inside and how much courage she had put up just to show him he was fine. Sure he had seen her cry from his venom peircing words but now. Now was just different. Seeing her on the ground, squatting against the wall as she pulled on her hair, wailing about the situation - she had never looked so pathetic and broken. He felt horrible. He felt like a monster. It all seemed absurd and impractical and he was clueless as to how he should fix this mess.

The lady finally rose from the ground. Her trembling hand wiping the tears away though she didn't see the point because they were threatening fall again. She was exhausted, she had no idea how else could she emphasize on how tired she was. Everything seemd to overwhelming and she was eagerly waiting for the day it wouldn't be overwhelmed with sadness but the feeling she longed for - happiness. Minji felt the guy staring at her, his hands were in his pockets and she couldn't face him. His smug face would make her feel so low of herself and she had enough of feeling so small. The fact that he was just standing there, saying nothing and looking at her made her feel pathetic and she realised how happiness could wait because all she needed after these months was for him to just apologise. She bowed, mumbling a 'sorry' eventhough it wasn't her role for that. Her legs were heacy but she managed to run back up, ready for a whole night of wailing and scars. 

Jongin raked a hand through his hair, punching the wall as the skin on his knuckles tore, turning into a shade of an angry red. He thought it was easy. He thought turning into a monster and spitting venom words would stop her from being nice to him. Would stop her from living with him. Would stop her from handling his bull. Would stop him from falling in love with her. But turns out, she couldn't afford to slip much further from the person she was meant to be and he was too blind to see it - leaving her broken.
