I didn't mean to, but I love you.

Kaiminzy.

Broken, part 2.

She was vain, a broken hearted girl that uses poetry as her way to urge herself to communicate. It's beautiful - her writings. The feelings potrayed was astonishing and indeed deserved the appropriate emotions from the others. She could never learn to speak. Being aware of eyes laying on her as she talks lives up her anxiety ten times worst than what she's suffering. They say sadness is the most basic and fundamental emotion in ones lives - but is it necessary still for an individual to have a taste of sadness when all her life she has been living in sorrow?

It was one of those days where their parents comes over or invite them for dinner at the fanciest restaurant you could ever think of. It's a tradition you see. Every two months or so, they'd get a taste of what Minji prepared or the Chef's choice at whatever restaurant they were at. That day was different though. It was Kai's dad birthday and what's a rich family birthday without a fancy party? Minji jumped when something flew across her room from the door and landed perfectly on the bed. Kai stood there, his hands in his pockets as he nodded towards the clothing.

"Wear that tonight and get some rest." Minji's eyes lightened up, hearing the last few words but her heart sunk when he continued. "I don't want to bring an ugly wife and certainly not one with a beautiful dress and panda eyes."

Minji looked down, what was she expecting? Where does she stand for him to care about her? No where. Kai looked at the lady, her eyes averting from him as she nodded. Her feet dragging her to the bathroom, leaving the dissapointed and regretful guy at the door. Nothing was enough to calculate the amount of times he shouted in his head for acting like a monster when all she wanted was love.  She didn't expect much. She didn't expect the monster in him to simmer down, she didn't expect him to talk to her with respect but all she craves is an apology and she felt she was going to die. The situation was intoxicating and she was suffocating from everything that's happening.

ing stupid. Kai thought to himself. But that wasn't too harsh though right? ....

"Aish!" The man tugged on his deep locks, closing his eyes to take in the mixed emotions he was having.

The stupidity and the irony is lost in him and still, he had no idea how to run away from all of that.

He saw the hesitant in her eyes, through her body language and the fear trapped in her mind when he offered her his arm. Kai felt horrible as time goes by. The car ride was silent. Not that it was something new but it was ripping him apart on the inside and he wanted nothing else but to just grab her and kiss her pain away. But he couldn't. Not when she's still in pain, emotionally and physically, he needed to clear all that up and earn her forgiveness. The couple's attention was back to the huge grand glass door when he gently slipped her arms around his as they walked in into the party.

It was nothing new. Well, to him at least. Kai grew up through these parties. Fancy clothing, countless of chandeliers and diamonds, marble floor - marble everything. "Chaebol" family they say. It never changed. The importance of formality had been driving him crazy for the past years but there really isn't anything he can do about it. His eyes roamed around hall, searching for their parents. There were so many people around that recognised him, offered him for a chat but all he cared about was the increase of tightness on his arm as Minji turned nervous minute by minute. Kai tugged her closer, glancing at Minji for a moment to see how she was doing. She was surprisingly calm though but her hand tells otherwise. He smirked at this. It's been long since he felt the need to be responsible for a woman - the need to protect her. And believe it or not, he actually liked it.

"Jongin! My baby," His mother had always be someone she admire. She was strong, confident and knows her place well. Maybe that's why Kai's the same. Minji nervously hugged her when she spread her arms, beaming at her son as Kai rolled his eyes.

"So do you Mr.Kim," Minji cracked a genuine smile and it had never felt so good. Mr.Kim's remark on her looks today got her flattered and her mind was all giddy wondering what would it be like if it was Kai who was complimenting her.

Truth is, his eyes was on her all the time. The dress was definitely doing justice to her body. She had amazing curves and a plump bottom that got him completely shocked. He never knew she had a body like that under the sweatpants and oversized t-shirts. She was beautiful and incredibly stunning.

Classical music rang through the hall. It was nice and refreshing. Minji never thought she would enjoy such music. It got her mind running and thinking and she felt free like how she had hoped to be after a long period of time. Kai left her a moment ago, her eyes glued at how proffesional he was being. The few other mens seemed satisfied with his words, his character.. basically his everything. And she couldn't deny he looked dashing. His suit was perfect with his lean, tall body and his tan smooth skin added a pinch of iness to him that got her hot for a second. Or should she say, the whole entire nght. Boredom took over her not too long after as she placed the champagne glass on the nearest side table before she began to roam around. The hall was indeed at the highest building of the hotel and a couple flight of staircase was just the amount before she reached the garden above. The staircase door creaked open as she began making her way up. She stared in awe at the plants, how well arranged they were and she was itching to just bring them back. Walking further in, she made her way to the end of the garden staring at the tall buildings infront of her. Night lights had never ceased to amaze her. Her room back in his mansion was not much but the view she got, she could bet it was better than his room. She could see the whole city from the garden. Her eyes reflecting the way the lights shone perfectly and she was hoping for nothing but to stay there forever. Going back to reality still wasn't easy and she don't think it'll ever be.

"You're not planning to jump or anything like that are you?" A deep yet soulful voice rang through her ears as she turned in shock.

The guy was attractive. His hair was slicked back and she was amazed at how a guys hair can be so black and shiny. He had on a similar suit at Kai and the only difference was that he seemed more genuine. Minji chuckled lightly, shaking her head. "No, i'm just.. you know, looking."

"I can see that." The guy moved nearer, his hand careslessly gripping onto his champagne glass as he pointed at her. " You're Kai's wife right?"

"Yea." Nodding as she flashed a smile. "Are you, perhaps, close to him?"

"You can say that. We're in the same clique. He's an though, why did you marry him?"

"I-" Minji stopped to think. What the hell was she supposed to say? That her parents would continue to choke her to death and she forced herself? Or maybe, she needed money and her own mother threw her to him for cash? "He's a nice guy. He's an but he's.. nice."

She heard the gentleman laughing, nodding his head as he smiled. "You're very pretty, beautiful infact."

Hell no. The last time she heard that was ten years ago when some guy was dared to do so. She unconciously blushed, looking down. That was too much of 'mushy mushy' she could take. But that all lasted for only so long when they both heard an all too familiar voice.

"Donghyuk."

"Kai."

She had no idea what position she was in, what she should do, where should she go. She just doesn't know and right then, she was contemplating what Donghyuk said earlier on. That would probably end the awkward situation. Her eyes widened when she saw Kai's eyes on her before averting his eyes back on his friend.

"I get that you want chicks but not my wife man." Kai smirked, tapping onto Donghyuk's shoulder.

"Papers. Whatever you guys are having right now are just on papers. Stop acting like you don't know ."

Kai raised an eyebrow, smirking as he let out a soft huff. His eyes were back on the lady who was staring blindly at him as he moved to slip his hands into hers. "Let's go."

She didn't expect them to really go home. But right now that's exactly what they're doing. The silence was deafaning and she was beginning to hate silence. That was the first. She loved silence, she loved how she could feel and think better when it's so silent a single pin drop could be heard through the entire room. But as she grew up, she lived through the sound of her own cries and she was slowly slipping away from the comfort of silence. Through all of that, her mind couldn't stop replying the touch of his warm hand, how he held her hand with pride and how confident he was when he said she was his wife. It was something new after all these years and she was beginning to hope again, well at least for now, hoping that things would get better and this was his way of apologizing. Minji smiled to his back view when he unlocked the door, they stepped intto the house as she began to take of her shoes. Turning around, she was about to walk to her room when she bumped onto his chest. His eyes throwing daggers at her as he stared at Minji. She had a weird feeling in her stomach, her hands begin trembling and the monster in him rised once more.

"You ruined it." His eyes not moving an inch. "You were supposed to stay there and wait for me. The people there wanted to see you and that was my ing chance to prove that I was trustworthy and is capable." She was confused, completely lost in whatever he was saying. "But there you were, being the cheap you are, I find you flirting with my own ing friend! Do you know how humiliated I am?"

Apologizing was all she could think of but she was interuppted by the loud bang when he slammed his hands on the wall.

"You like flirting that much?! If I knew you let yourself onto guys this easily, I wouldn't have married you!" Kai's voice rising up and he was fuming in anger. Is that all he really felt? Is his heart only filled with anger and disspointment?

"I don't and we weren't even-"

"Weren't what?! You weren't flirting?!" He scoffed. " that ! Why were you blushing then huh?! Don't tell me because he called you ugly that's why! Goddamn, you're hopeless. Why can't you just listen huh? Is it that hard? Do you want me to teach you how to ing obey rules?! Isn't yesterday's slap not enough?!"

Minji looked up, her eyes staring into his as she tried controlling the big lump in . He did not just.. She had no idea what else to say. Her head was pulsing unpleasantly. His words had always hurt like hell but the fact that he mentioned what he did, in a way that he meant it, she had never felt so low. This was the lowest she had felt, the lowest she had gone and that too was the last straw. She couldn't take it any longer. How could she fall into that trap? How could she think he married her not only for his own benefits? He destroyed her and she was completely decieved. Everything that happened back there was however just a show.

His hands fell to his sides when she blinked the tear away. He knew he messed up. He knew he ed up. He's destroying her over and over again and he was going insane. He watched Minji bow, apologizing like she always does before walking straight to her room. This was probably the worst he had done and the worst she had felt.

She entered her room, leaving the door open and completely ignoring the light switch. She was too tired to think about it, too overwhelmed by sadness all over again and her cheeks were soaked just like every other night. She cracked a smile. She couldn't bear spending the night with a frown nor expressionless. She wanted to end it all with a smile, scar with a smile and leave with a smile.

Her mind turned blank as she head towards the drawer, reaching out for the penknife as she leaned against the wall, sliding down. She had no idea what she was getting herself into but she just wanted to end it all. The next thing she felt was the blade slicing through her skin and to her flesh as the blood dripped down the wooden floor. Her face scrunched up as she let out a long breath before continously repeating the action. A gash was form and she knew she was losing a lot of blood by then but that was exactly what she wanted. She wanted to feel the pain, she wanted to die, she really did. Her vision was hazy, her mind was pulsing and her fingers were trembling. It hurt. So so bad. In the amidst of all that, her hand moved towards the vein at her wrist, aiming it carefully. She feared the pain, she feared death, she feared the aftermath but she would prefer all that then living through hell.

"GONG MINJI!" She heard a frightening scream, interrupting her as the penknife was thrown onto the other side of the room. A pool of blood next to her as she laid there lifelessly. She was numb. Numb to everything and she had no idea if she could go through it any longer.

" NO MINJI AH! PLEASE, PLEASE, WHY!" She smiled lightly at the sight of the man she loved begging her to live. Throughout her life, all she heard was the intense wish for her to die, and to see Kai begging otherwise made her feel all giddy on the inside though the pain was erupting through her entire being. "I love you, please. I can't do this without you, give me a chance. Please Minji, please don't leave. PLEASE!"

Her vision was turning worst and all she heard was faint voices of Kai screaming and his tears soaking dress as he hug her tightly. Kai grabbed her hand tightly when she clung onto him, hoping for her to stay awake. With a squeeze on his hand, her eyes closed and then everything turned black.

"She's fine. She needs to be here for awhile though  overall she's good."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes Mr.Kim, now please just sit down, she's gonna be fine."

What a conversation to wake up to. Her head was spinning and though she felt like puking anytime soon, she was still wondering why was she not dead yet. The tone Kai was having was interesting though. She had never heard him worried and to know that he was feeling that way because of her couldn't hold her back from smiling. The door creaked open as she struggled to sit up. Minji gulped when he rushed to help her, slipping a hand behind her back as he carefully leaned her back against the pillows. They knew it was going to be awkward but that was enough. Because of his selfishness, he crushed her into pieces and she's how she is now because of him. He sat down next to her, eyes searching for a reaction but she was just looking outside. She was beginning to wonder why weren't there any noises or other patients around her. And how was she able to get into a private ward but then she remembered who he was and that Kai was basically capable of anything.

"You.. you feeling better?" He started.

Kai looked at her hopelessly for an answer, to hear her voicely. But all he got back as a reply was a slight nod with a small smile.

"I- uhm, I have a lot of things to say." She was silent still and he took that as an OK to continue. "I'm sorry."

Oh how much she craved for that.

"I'm sorry for breaking you heart. For turning you into a wreck and no being able to find yourself. I'm sorry I wasn't there when you cried everyday before going to sleep. I'm sorry I walked away even when I hear you talking to yourself about how tired you are and how you feel like dying everytime I shout at you. I'm sorry for mentioning things I shouldn't. I'm sorry for leaving scars on your heart and not fixing it right after. I'm sorry I even lay a finger on you and still dare to say nothing about it. But Gong Minji, all I want is to really just tell you that I love you. I couldn't bear to break my heart anymore and so I took advantage of you. The 'jerk' 'stupid' '' is all on you. I know i'm all of that so I'm not gonna mention it. But I love you. I didn't mean all of this but I love you. I really do and it's too late now for me to be saying all of this but please be happy, I need you to be happy. I want to see you smile. I just," Minji turned, urging him to continue as a tear slipped down his cheek. His voice was trembling. "I just need you."

He could've sworn that was the last of him when she nodded her head and flashed a weak smile as it gradually turned way more genuine. He too hadn't felt genuinely happy for a long time. He too had longed for happiness. And he was willing to grow with her, complete the emptiness with her. Kai leaned in,tugging her hair behind her ear as he placed his lips on hers. They closed their eyes, enjoying the jiff of affection and their mind was filled with nothing but just the thought of each other. At that moment she believed anything was possible, she believed that eventhough people were cruel, they commit to sinning, everyone, is born with a good heart.
