Two weeks later

Krystal’s Pov

“Joey can you please go get your father,” I said quickly holding my stomach.

“Why mommy?” he asked curious, reluctant to leave his toys.

“I need to tell her something. Please go. She’s outside mowing the lawn,” I told him pointing out the window.

“Yes mommy,” he said getting up.

“Thank you.”

I few seconds later Amber came in the room frantic with Joey following her.

“What is it? What’s wrong?” she asked coming to me.

“It’s nothing bad,” I said trying to calm her.

“You scared me,” she said clutching her chest.

“I’m sorry, but honey I felt the baby kick. This is the first time,” I said happily.

“Oh my god. Really?” she asked astonished. 

“Yes. I’ve felt flutters before, but there is no mistaking it, the baby kicked.”

“Wow, honey that’s amazing.”

“Maybe it’ll happen again. I want you to feel it,” I said reaching for her hand.

“I’m all gross from being outside,” she said leaning away. “I’m sweating buckets.”

“I don’t care. I want you to experience this with me.”

“Of course,” she said wiping her hands on her pants before putting them on top of my belly.

“No, under the shirt,” I said guiding her hands under my shirt.

“Now we wait,” she smiled.

“Your hands are really warm,” I smiled putting mine on top of hers.

“What are you doing?” Joey asked confused from where he was seated on the floor.

“We are trying to feel the baby,” I told him.

“You haven’t felt the baby before?”

“Well in a way I have. But this is the first time the baby has moved a lot. Because now the baby is bigger,” I explained.

“There it is! I felt it!” Amber exclaimed excited.

“It’s incredible,” I said leaning into to kiss her with tears in my eyes.

“There’s really a baby in there,” she said stunned.

“I sure hope so,” I said looking at her shocked face.

She stayed frozen for what seemed like a long time.

“Am,” I said touching her face.

“I can’t believe it.”

I kissed her briefly again while she stayed still.

“It must be the sound of your voice. The baby likes to hear it,” she said.

“Try saying something,” I encouraged.

She moved her head closer to my belly before saying, “I’m here. And I love you so much. I will always take care of you.”

“Another kick!” I said smiling.

“The baby likes both of our voices.”

“Come here,” I said pulling her head up to mine for a passionate kiss.

I couldn’t stop kissing her. I was so happy.

“You guys are being weird,” Joey said breaking the silence.
