Foreword
Plainly put, I was stranded.
Stranded, in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of Korea. By myself.
No friends.
No family.
No money.
How did I get myself into this? I convinced my family to let me go on my own vacation, to Korea where I had always wanted to go to practice my skills after I learned the language. I was to say the least, infatuated with the culture, and they had agreed after much begging. And now I’ve arrived to my dream country, only to have my luggage lost and my purse stolen at the airport. All of my things, my clothes, my money. All I had left was a few pairs of pants, shirts, bras, , make up and a flat iron in the duffel bag no one had bothered to steal. I should have put my money in there. It didn’t look like it would carry anything valuable. I had no way of getting a hold of my family, who was probably half way to Italy by now. They all decided to leave their blackberries and cell phones at home so work wouldn’t interrupt them. Now what?
