“Class, can I get your attention?!” Ms. Kim hollered out as she entered the classroom. Immediately, the entire class settled down and Sun Hwa and Ji Eun returned to their seats reluctantly. In her hands, she held a bucket and there was an excited grin plastered on her face.

“Thank you, class. Now, remember that every junior and freshmen has a final semester project as a final grade. And because I’m so nice and pretty awesome,” She flicked her hair and the class laughed at her sarcasm. “I have decided that there will be no history final and instead your final score will be determined by the score of your final semester project.” The class whooped with joy and Ms. Kim quickly calmed them down with a hand.

“Now, now, settle down, I’m not done. This year’s subject of the project just so happened to be history so I decided to spare you guys the pain of studying for a final. However, this year will be different. The faculty of the history department has decided that the freshmen will work with the sophomores and the juniors will work with the seniors for the project.” She explained and the girls in the class all brightened at the possibility of working with one of the twelve EXO princes. You were just content with the possibility of working with either Ha Na or Hyo Sung.

“Girls, don’t think I know what you are thinking about. Your partners will depend on luck.” Ms. Kim smiled mysteriously as she shook the bucket in front of the class. Most of the girls groaned complaining about the unfairness and their bad streak of luck but you however were confident that you get either Hyo Sung or Ha Na as a partner.

After all, a vampire is always lucky.

Giggling to yourself, you waited for your name to be called so that you could pick your partner out of the bucket. The students whose names started with ‘A’ went first and some of them had relieved expressions or disappointed expressions. Mainly, the girls were the disappointed ones. Because you were new, your name wasn’t registered on the list yet so you had to go last.

“Han Eun Mi-ssi?” Ms. Kim called out your name and you gladly stood from your seat, walking down the aisle. Ms. Kim handed the bucket to you and you stuck your hand inside. There were still many pieces of paper inside and you fumbled around for a moment before deciding on one. Smiling confidently, you pulled out the paper and unfolded it.

Your smiled faded and you stared wide eyed at the paper.

“Ah, I see you are the lucky one in class.” Ms. Kim peeked at your paper and she lowered her voice slightly. You were thankful that she didn’t announce it to the whole class otherwise you’d have to fend off the whole female student body.

“Too lucky, Kim seongsaengnim.” You muttered sarcastically and marched to your seat mechanically. You had a dark expression and Ji Eun and Sun Hwa stared at you worriedly.

“Who’d you get?” Ji Eun whispered to you.

“I’ll tell you guys later.” You grumbled and Ji Eun pulled back with a curious pout.

“Now, class, I know that you are supposed to have your elective today but that period will be replaced with study hall so that you can meet up with your partners. The seniors will be having class at that time therefore you all will have to enter their class to find them. The senior faculty has been already notified about this. There is a topic on your piece of paper and that is the topic you and your partner will research and discuss on.” Ms. Kim continued explaining. You grimaced at your topic and rolled your eyes inwardly.

Great, I have to research about the Vampiric-Lycanthropic War with a werewolf. Oh, the irony…

“Here is a handout about what you need to do and the main points in the project. There will be two parts to it. There will be an essay portion of the project and the presentation portion of the project which you will present to the school during assembly. Both are worth half of the project grade each. Your partner and you will be writing two essays. I will be handing out another handout for your specific topic. The presentation will be done together. And when I say together, I mean together. I will only give full credit to those who actually did work and not laze around.” She eyed the class strictly. She passed one stack of handouts to Dong Jun, who sat in the front, and he began to pass things back.

I guess I’ll be doing all the work.

“And one more thing, no switching partners. Even if both partners have agreed to switch, it will not be allowed.” She leaned on her desk, crossing her arms and legs with a meaningful smirk at the disgruntled girls who didn’t get their dream partner. The bell rang and the class made a move to exit the class but Ms. Kim flicked her wrist and an energy beam shot out of her finger and struck the tiled floor of the classroom, leaving a black charred mark in its place. The class froze in their tracks and Ms. Kim smiled appreciatively.

“The bell doesn’t dismiss you, I do. Now, I really wouldn’t want to leave without your handouts about your essay topic would I? But since you are so keen on heading to lunch, I guess, I could just burn these or maybe recycle them. Yeah, recycling seems so much more eco-friendly.” Ms. Kim sang sarcastically and she made a move to the recycling bin when the whole class quickly rushed to their seats and sat down. She halted in her tracks and eyed them innocently with a confused look in her eyes.

“I thought you didn’t want this?” She waved the stack of papers in her hand and the class shook their heads. She grinned in delight and began calling out the topic names so that the one assigned could collect the paper. You took your paper with an amused grin and Ms. Kim sent a wink your way. You returned it with a silent giggle.

“Thank you for being so patient, class. I guess I’ll let you out early tomorrow depending on how long I made you stay in class beyond the bell today. Class dismissed.” She announced and the entire class dashed to the door. You grabbed your paper and glanced through it. Your jaw dropped at the topic.

“Um, Kim seongsaengnim, why do I have a feeling that this was made for me and my partner?” You stared at her in disbelief.

“Ah, I see you got the Vampiric-Lycanthropic War. Well, don’t ask me. I didn’t pick the topic. The seniors all picked their topics at the start of school in a survey given to them. The question was their favorite moment in history and your partner just so happened to answer the Vampiric-Lycanthropic War. Besides, I believe it will be interesting to see differentiating opinions in your essay. In fact, I wonder how both of you are going to interact.” She laughed lightheartedly at the thought and she sat down at her desk. You still gaped at her and she rolled her eyes good naturedly at you.

“Oh, don’t just stand there. Go and have lunch. I bet you are starving.” She shooed you away and you robotically picked up your books and headed out the door. Secret stood in the corridor waiting for you and as expected Ji Eun had your lunch in her hands. Not even bothering to put your stuff back in your locker, you quickly grabbed Ji Eun and Ha Na dragging them to the cafeteria with your enhanced strength and super speed. Hyo Sung and Sun Hwa followed unsurely while Ji Eun and Ha Na kept quiet and glanced at you strangely.

“Um…Eun Mi, are you-” Ha Na started but you interrupted her.

“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine. But I’ve got big news to tell you.” And she shut as you dragged her and Ji Eun through the chaotic cafeteria with Hyo Sung and Sun Hwa trailing behind you.

“Um, Eun Mi, are you sure you are alright?” Hyo Sung stared at you worriedly as you gobbled down your bottle of blood type O.

“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine…I guess. Say, who are your partners for your final semester project?” You your lips which were now a blood red due to the blood.

“I got lucky and I got Hyo Sung unnie as a partner.” Ji Eun giggled and you smiled at her stiffly.

“We’re researching on the War of the Fairies and Dwarves. And it just so happens that I’m partnered with one of them.” Hyo Sung grinned in joy and you bite back your frustrated sigh.

“I don’t know who my partner is yet but I’ll tell you after school.” Ha Na shrugged and took a bite out of her sandwich.

“I’m partnered with Kwang Hee oppa! And, and, we are doing the love story of Princess Joo Yeon and Prince Woo Bin. Their love story is so tragic. The Unicorn princess and the Pegasus prince fall in love but separated by a feudal war. ” Sun Hwa squealed in delight and Secret groaned.

“Oh, great, you get your Kwang Hee oppa.” Hyo Sung rolled her eyes and sipped her water.

“Wait, who?” You raised your eyebrow at Sun Hwa who stared dreamily in space.

“Oh, Kwang Hee oppa? He’s only the dreamiest, y, cute, charming, handsome, nice, funny, kind, wonderful, amazing, and magical-” Sun Hwa began dreamily and Ha Na pushed her face towards the ground with a disgusted l
