Lexi's Outfit for this chapter ;)

It's 6:00am and my alarm clock started blaring on my bed side table. My eyes wanted to shut but my mind started to get to its senses when I remember why my clock was set this early.
 

I was told by Youngbae to pack some of my clothes without even telling me where he's taking me. Bae, Reca-unnie and my manager were the only ones who knew where we're going. He said that it's a surprise for me. I find it really sweet but I thought that I must hold back my feelings for him because I know that I'm not in my reality yet. But the thing is, why is he doing these things for me? Is he feeling guilty because of the accident? Well, he doesn't really have to...
 

"We're almost there..." He said and interrupting my revery. I look out the window and find the road very familiar. I know I've already been here several times before.
 

"Wait, I think I know where we're going..." I said with a slight smirk forming on my lips.
 

"Of course you knew..." Youngbae winked at me and smiled. I had to bite my lip and suppress a squeal to see him do that so I just focused my attention back to the road. Everywhere I look just feels so familiar, comforting and homey.

 

"Here we are..." Youngbae finally said after our long hour drive and parked in front of a house that brought me beautiful nostalgia; my grandparents' house. I couldn't help but smile like a kid as I opened the car door and stare at the house. "Wow, it's bigger than I thought..."

 

"Does my grandmother know that we're coming?" I asked Youngbae when I noticed that the house looked empty.

 

"Yeah, but I forgot to say what time..." Bae answered while scratching a non-itchy part of his head.

 

"Aigoo, she might be playing bingo or something..." We then tried to knock on the door but no one was answering. I'm feeling really excited to see my grandmother.

 

"I'll go check the back door..." Youngbae said and walked his way there while I continued knocking and waited for someone to get the door. Just then, I heard a dog barking angrily, it must be my grandma's golden retriever, Bambi. But the next thing I heard was Youngbae's scream and a sound of splash of water coming from the swimming pool. I hurriedly ran to the back yard only to see Youngbae in the pool and drenched while Bambi was barking at him by the pool side.
 

"Bambi! Sit! Stay!" I ordered the dog; she obediently stopped barking and sat on her spot. "Oh my, Bae what happened?" I asked while trying to hold in a laugh.
 

"She was going for me then I fell..." He said as he ran his hands to his semi-shaved head. "She's scary..." I couldn't hold in my laugh anymore so I chuckled. "Yah! I really could use a hand here instead of you laughing..." Bae muttered.

 

"Mianhe..." I said but I still couldn't hold in a chuckle. I then lend my hand to reach for his. But instead, he pulled me into the pool and drenching my entire outfit. "Yaaahhh!!!" I screamed, and now is his turn to laugh.

 

"Quits!" Bae chuckled and splashed some water to me.

 

"Yah!" I exclaimed again and returned a splash of water at him too. Just then, the back door of my grandmother's house flew open, revealing my threatening grandmother while holding a baseball bat and ready to whack with it a trespasser.
 

"Halmeoni!" I exclaimed excitedly.

 

"Lexi?!" My grandmother gave me a ones over as she lowered the baseball bat on her hands and looked at the mo-hawked guy beside me that was also soaked in the pool. I immediately got out of the pool and approached my grandmother excitedly, then Youngbae followed. "Oh my dear, it's you! How are you? I was worried sick about you getting into an accident." My grandmother said as she gave me a kiss on both cheeks.

 

"I'm good halmeoni don't worry..." I wanted to hug her, but I was soaking wet.

 

"I'm sorry I wasn't able to visit you, my good doctor didn't allow me to go for a trip..." Halmeoni said, her eyes still full of worries for me.

 

"Gwenchana halmeoni, I'm already here. I'd blame myself if something happen to you..." I said. My eyes started to well up, but I hold it in. I don't want my grandmother to see me cry. She then noticed the guy beside me.
 

"Ah, annyeonghaseo halmeoni, Dong Youngbae imnida. I'm a friend of Lexi and Reca-sshi and we also talked on the phone..." Bae said.
 

"Oh yes, yes... But why are you two in the pool?" Halmeoni asked.
 

"Well..." Bae started and scratched his none-itchy nape.
 

"It's a long story halmeoni..." I cut him off to save him from explanation.
 

"Aiyoo, I hope Bambi didn't cause you this trouble..." Halmeoni said with her chinky eyes.

 

"Actually..." I muttered with my gritted teeth while Youngbae just smiled his signature eye-smile.

 

"Why don't we go inside so you both could rest. I suppose you have change clothes, right?" She said as she took my hand and Youngbae's hand to go inside the house. Ah, nothing beats the feeling of being at home and being taken care of the one you love. I'm really glad Youngbae took me here, to top it all, I'm glad that Youngbae is here.
 

My grandmother then showed us our rooms to freshen up and change our clothes. While I was drying my hair in front of the dresser, I found one of its drawers left ajar. I don't know why, buy curiosity got me and opened the drawer. And there I found a vintage box decorated with hand painted flowers and on top of the lid was inscribed the name of my grandparents Eunjae and Mina. I smiled inwardly and opened the box too carefully as it is older than me. My eyes glow in awe when I saw old photographs, postcards, notes and letters that my grandparents exchanged with each other. There was also an old book of romantic poems that has a preserved flower inserted and pressed in the middle of the book. I want to show this to halmeoni...
 

When I got out, I found Bae chatting with my grandmother in the living room while eating fruits. He was wearing a plain white shirt and jeans, really simple but yet still so attractive and looks so fresh.
 

"Halmeoni, look at what I've found!" I chirped as I joined them. My grandmother smiled widely when she found a familiar thing on my arms.
 

"Ah, you found it!" She said and clapped. "I've been looking for that box..."

 

"I found it in a drawer of the dresser..." I said as I sat beside my grandmother on the sofa.

 

"What's in it?" Youngbae asked curiously and scooted closer to us.

 

"This is my greatest treasure..." My grandmother started. She gently ran her fingers at the inscribed names on top of the lid before opening it. I couldn't describe her smile when she opened the box, she was in awe.

 

"Wow..." Was all Youngbae could say, he too was in awe. "You kept all your love letters?"

 

"Yes, even the wrapper of the first chocolate he gave me, and of course, this book of poems. We used to read a poem to each other while having a picnic at the park..." My grandmother's eyes twinkled in that memory. I could really feel that they love each other very much.

 

"That's really sweet halmeoni..." I said in awe.

 

"We can do that again, let's do it!" Bae suggested. "How about later? Well go to the park and have picnic... What do you say?"

 

"Of course..." My grandmother said without any hesitations.
 

It was a good day for picnic, my grandmother and I prepared fruits and other refreshing drinks for today. The day isn't cloudy neither sunny, just a perfect day to be out for a picnic at the park.

 

"What else do you do for fun back then, halmeoni?" Bae asked my grandmother.

 

"We go biking, we go to the beach during summer and oh, your Eunjae halaboji loves to go fishing..." My grandmother smiled as she tried to remember her youth.
 

"Lexi-ah, let's visit halmeoni on summer and take her to the beach..." Bae told me excitedly.
 

"Is that a promise? It's been a while since I went to a beach..." She said excitedly.
 

"Ne, halmeoni. And we'll have a picnic too. I promise, we'll make time..." I smiled at her with that promise.
 

A little later, Youngbae decided to fly a kite he made earlier with old newspapers. He was so excited to test it.
 

"Woohoo it's flying!" Bae exclaimed excitedly as he tugs gently the kite's string. He's like a kid, away from the glamorous life of being an idol.
 

"I'm the kite king of the world!!!" He exclaimed, running and feeling the fresh air while Bambi ran after him. And I just couldn't help but laugh at him being a goof ball. What a dork... What an adorable dork...
 

"You look really happy dear..." My grandmother commented.
 

"Of course I'm happy halmeoni, I'm happy because I'm here with you..." I said.

 

"But your smile is different when Youngbae's around..." My grandmother started and I instantly blush at her comment. "I can see a different glow in your eyes..." She said with a knowing smile and I started to look away from her so she won't meet my eyes. "You don't have to hide it from me dear, you like him, and it's obvious that he likes you too..."
 

"Grandma~~~?" I whined, but my face flushed the moment I looked at Youngbae who smiled at me with his chinky eye-smile.
 

"See?" My grandmother cooed. "He wouldn't be here if he doesn't like you.   I could tell he's a good kid. If you're worried about your , you should know that doesn't really matter. He's just ten months younger. You just have to give yourselves a chance..." She continued while holding my hand to assure me.
