Baekhyun's patience wore thin as he watched Woohyun playfully circle around Su Kyung with the soccer ball. She laughed as she pointed at him for being cheap. His grip on the pencil tightened when he saw him place an arm around her neck, pulling her closer to him than she already was.

 

"Baekhyun ssi, if you would be so kind to stop staring at the people below us. I would like to start handing out the test." Mr. Kim, his trigonometry teacher tapped his foot impatiently with a bundle of test papers in his hands.

 

Cheeks burning from embarrassment, Baekhyun muttered an apology as he faced forward, away from the window. But he couldn't help but to glance down at the two people from time to time.

 

Currently, Baekhyun was in his trig class, ready to take a test that would cost him 15% of his final grade. If he failed this then the consequences could be disastrous. He was already worried enough. He especially didn’t need those two making him even more nervous and frustrated.

Meanwhile, Su Kyung and Woohyun had gym class together and they had some free time so Woohyun had offered her to teach her some tricks for soccer. Seeing the way they were so comfortable together made his blood boil.

Just think about Ji Eun. Think about Ji Eun. He chanted in his head, closing his eyes in concentration. The image of her popped up in his head and luckily, it slightly soothed him to calm down.

“You may now begin.”

Opening his eyes and focusing intently on the test, he was handed his own hard copy of the test. Once skimming through the questions, his jaw dropped in shock.

“I have to do 80 freaking questions in just 50 minutes?!” he hissed to himself but was silenced by his classmates.

Usually, he would’ve just winged it and give up, but he glanced one more time down toward the little couple that was playing on the soccer field. He suddenly wondered if he should give up or not. Whether if it actually worth his time. He’d never actually done well in math. All his math grades weren’t the best. In fact that highest grade he had ever gotten was 54 out of 100 on tests.

But then he thought of Su Kyung, how she spend almost two months tutoring him and assisting him all for this day. This test was going to be the result of his learning. What would happen if he failed? Baekhyun could already imagine her disappointed and sad face when he would tell her that news. Would she regret helping him? Would she refuse to help him in the future after this?

Baekhyun bit his lip in worry and shook his head. No, he wasn’t going to make her efforts go down the drain. He was going to properly and actually TRY to complete the test with the best of his knowledge and abilities. He was tired of disappointing Su Kyung. He was tired of being an idiot who knew nothing in front of her. He was going to make Su Kyung proud of being his tutor. He wanted her to praise him instead of that stupid guy called Woohyun.

He wanted her attention and he was going to get it. No one will get in his way.

Swiftly picking up the pencil and reading the first problem, his brain started to function as the gears started to turn. Thank god it was all multiple choice. Within seconds, he had already gotten the answer to the first problem. Alright now: 1 question down and 79 more to go.

Baekhyun rolled his neck and prepared for that headache that would probably come after the test for thinking too much. But it’ll all be worth it. He glanced down at the girl who was laughing and smiling at that guy.

Clenching his teeth, he turned back to the test and tuned out everyone. He was no longer distracted by the guy who was repeatedly tapping his pencil on the desk, the girl was kept on muttering to herself in confusion or the snores of the class clown who had already fell asleep.

No, his attention was solely on the test. He would finish it no matter what or he would die trying.

Do it for Su Kyung. Do it to make Su Kyung proud. Do it to show to you that you’re not a failure. Do it to make Su Kyung realize that you aren’t a burden in her life. Do it to make her proud of you. Do it to show to her that you are worth something.

Woohyun stifled a chuckle when Su Kyung missed while attempting to kick the soccer ball.

Glaring up at him, she scowled. “Yah, oppa I saw that! You were laughing weren’t you?”

“A-Aniyo,” Woohyun smiled firmly, trying to keep in the chuckles. But at last, he couldn’t hold it in and burst out laughing.

Su Kyung huffed in annoyance as she brushed her bangs back. “This is too much oppa. Play by yourself!” She frowned and stalked off, leaving a very amused Woohyun behind.

His eyes couldn’t help but to travel down to her legs where she was wearing hot pants. Her bare knees were shown and Woohyun couldn’t even keep his eyes off of them.

Noticing he became silent, Su Kyung glanced back only to find him staring down. More accurately, at her legs. She automatically pinked and kicked at him a little.

“Yah oppa, are you a byuntae now?” She frowned, squatting down to cover her legs properly.

Woohyun was about to say something but stopped when he realized that he wasn’t the only one that had eyes for her thighs.

A freshman walking by whistled in admiration as he and his friends stared at the squatting Su Kyung.

“Noona~ Your legs are jjang!” the boy held up two thumbs up and smiled slyly.

Still frowning, she stood up and pointed at him. “Yoseob ah, be quiet.”

The boy pouted. “Wae? You can’t deny what you like,” he winked as Woohyun impatiently and angrily watched from the side lines.

Su Kyung sighed as she walked over to Yoseob and his little group. “Yah, how can a freshman boy something like this to a junior? You wanna die, punk?” Her thug side came out as she pulled his ear.

Yoseob winced. “Ah, ah. Noona, it hurts~” he whined. “But why am I being punished? All I did was compliment your figure!”

She rolled her eyes and let his ear go. “Fine, you got off just for today. So scurry off and don’t do any erted stuff.” She said while he nodded obediently like a puppy.

“Neh noona! Bye!” Yoseob waved and ran off with his friends.

“Wow, who was that?” Woohyun gaped at the happy boy that was now tackling one of his friends.

“That was Yoseob. He’s a freshman and kind of one of my fan boys,” her cheeks blushed as she was not accustomed to saying such a word.

Woohyun chuckled at her shyness and wrapped an arm around her again. “You seem to be popular, aren’t you?”

She shrugged. “Somewhat but not as popular as Ji Eun. I swear she might be the most popular girl in the school,” she smiled proudly at her best friend.

“Oh, doesn’t that mean there will be more competition for Baekhyun?” he noticed.

“Yeah, but Baekhyun has the biggest chance. He’s the only suitor to actually be her friend,” she smiled happily and removed his arm. She skipped ahead, leaving Woohyun alone again.
