chapter forty 

 victoria's loyalty

"I heard they broke up." Jessica smiled. Victoria found it hard to stay still while the topic of this conversation was about one of her friends. They all looked at her to see if that was true. She slowly nodded.

"Finally! We can all have a share of L.Joe again!" Yoona exclaimed. The other girls squealed in joy. Victoria was the only quiet one.

"How do you guys even know you guys have a shot with the jocks? Especially L.Joe.." Victoria slapped her hand over as she said that.

They all gave her a peculiar look.

"Don't tell me you're showing pity for you friend." Taeyeon said.

"I'm not showing pity. She's one of my closest friends and we also signed up for the talent show together-"

"Which I don't seem to understand why." Hyoyeon spatted which caused all the girls to stay silent and watch the argument.

"Why I didn't stick with you for the talent show?" Victoria asked in confirmation.

"I don't know." Victoria said after a long silence.

She did wonder why she didn't stick with them, when she would have obviously won with them. And gotten the scholarship at the same time. With her friends right now, they would never win. Considering the conditions her best friends were in, they would never have a chance.

"You're right." Victoria nodded. She could've stopped herself but she didn't. "I'm back in."

The cheerleaders all nodded their heads at her and smiled. She was wondering what she had just gotten herself into.
