chapter four 

 amber's offbeat

"Where to go...what to do..." Amber whispered to herself. She looked at all the students around her. They all had a destination in mind, but she didn't know where to go. She placed her skateboard gently on the ground and hopped on it. Like the wind, she began to move while tugging on her beanie. What was she going to do now? The only thing she was good at besides skating was dancing.

She stopped skateboarding and picked it up. The list of clubs and classes were in front of her. She stared at it in frustration. What was she going to do? She let out a big sigh, and walked to the grass area where the football players were. She saw Victoria and was about to wave, when Victoria walked away.

Why isn't she joining the cheerleaders, she wondered. She quickly shook her head. Maybe she needed to go to the restroom.

Then something else caught her eye. No, somone. She quickly walked over to the football team. She squinted her eyes and saw who it was.

"Sulli...?" She asked herself. She couldn't believe it. It was Sulli. She was with the guys of the football team. No, that couldn't be. Why would Sulli join the football team? Then again, her oppa is on the team. So she'd probably join sooner or later. Amber walked all around the campus and saw all types of clubs going on with auditions. She even saw Krystal in designing class, making one of her classic high skirt.

She finally turned to look at the basketball players. With a heavy sigh, she walked over to them and tried talking to them.

The coach turned to look at her and took out his pen. "We have another one." He sighed. Amber didn't know how to react. He probably thought she was a guy.

"Hi." Oh lord, did she ever sound more like a guy in her life.

"Go find a seat." He told her with a boldness in his voice. Amber nodded and found a spot. The bleachers were nearly full, so she placed her skateboard on the side. She watched a whole mass of people try to shoot hoops and started to yawn. It took over thirty minutes until it was her turn.

She walked over to the center and picked up the ball and started bouncing it. "Number 65, sir!" She pointed at the number tag on her shirt. The coach nodded and wrote down her number on his paper. She slowly started to bounce the ball and threw the ball straight onto the basket. Luckily, it made. Amber stood there, shocked, because she didn't know what the heck she was doinb but it made. She sighed in relief.

She continued doing the same thing for about thrity seconds, and then she exited the gym. She hoped she made it in. Not thinking at all, she crossed her fingers. 

Now, all she has to do is hope for the best.
