chapter twentyone 

 amber's torn heart

Tomorrow means EARLY yeah? L.Joe texted Amber. Amber groaned as she read the text.

I'll come anytime I want. She smiled as she typed this and sent it to L.Joe. Ever since the girls have gotten back together, her and L.Joe have been texting each other nonstop. 

Krystal was being far too generous the other day and invited them all to go shopping with her tomorrow. Amber knew something wasn't right with Krystal. There was no way she would invite them to ANYTHING except a party. Her phone gave an abrupt ring that made her jump.

I need to ask you something. The text read. Curiosity filled her mind. What would L.Joe ask her? But of course, he was making fun of her as always.

Are you gay? Amber dropped her phone. No one has ever asked her that. Even though people thought that, they never said it out to her face.

Yes, I am. Amber sighed and clicked send and immediately regretted it. It took awhile for L.Joe to send a text back and Amber could tell why. How wuold she react if one of her friend tell her that they were gay?

Luna skidded across Amber's lawn and waved to her. Amber waved back through the window and didn't waste a second to exit her house. She ran towards Luna and stood there awkwardly.

"We're going to get icecream." Luna said dramatically.

"We'? I thought-"

"You, me, and Minho." Luna raised her eyebrows.

Amber was disappointed to find out that Minho was coming along. She thought it was only going to be her and Luna. She could never get a moment alone with Luna and it killed her. 

"Oh yeah, I forgot about him." Amber laughed nervously. 

"You know he likes Krystal. He just wants us to help him, that's all." Luna pursed her lips and crossed her arms together. Amber smiled. As the walked to the icecream parlor, Luna talked and talked and talked. Amber stared at her the whole time.

She had never felt like this before. It only occurs whenever she's with Luna. Of course, she's not going to tell her that. It would ruin their friendship, but she always protected Luna from being with a guy. It hurt her a lot to see Luna think that guys don't like her because she' always in the shadow. But that wasn't true at all. Luna was indeed, very popular with the guys.

As the entered the icecream parlor, they spotted couples feeding each other. A waitress in a maid outfit walked over to them.

"Would you like to try our special, the Couple's Sundae?" She asked cheekily.

"No, that's okay, we're not-" Amber shook her head furiously.

"Together." Luna finished her sentence for her.

When Minho arrived, they gave him advice on how to catch Krystal. Although he knew she liked Donghae, he wouldn't give up.

I was kidding... L.Joe texted. Amber frowned.

I was kidding too...Amber bit her lip, hoping he would buy it.
