The Following Day
Tiffany and Key
On their way to the University
 

Key stops driving as soon as the red traffic lights up.
He looks at this left side of the empty huge road.
His mind becomes flooded with memories of a traffic situation in New York.
He laughs out loud at the thoughts of what is it up there.

“Mom, I cannot believe I am driving at a huge highway road.
This is fantastic.
No stress, no sweat and no swearing from all
around us…ha ha ha…”

“I know right?
So laid back but maybe perhaps when school
starts and then things maybe a traffic chaos.
(shrugs off) But generally is so remotely
farfetched compare to New York…”

“I agree… Mom… so quiet and orderly…
I think I might like it in this aspect…
we will see…
(takes a deep breath)
Are we far yet?”

“No… hon… just
(points at a huge building) there see?”

“Oh…okay… was easy…
Is Mr. Eunhyuk expecting us anytime?”

“(nods) Yes… he is…
so don’t worry, we do not have to wait…”

Key now enters the gate releasing his foot on the acceleration pedal.
He is driving very slow as he views the middle part of the university façade.

“Mom… this university looks nice…
you said, they have a nice art gallery…”

“Yes, sweetie and they have amazing ancient artifacts,
amazing paintings of noted local and
International Korean painters as well as beautiful work of arts…”

“That’s interesting…”

Passing a hallway to the President’s office, Key pauses as he sees something interesting gently grabs his mother’s arm and says…

“Wow… hold on for a bit…”

“Why… what is it sweetie…”

“Just for a minute, let’s go inside that room.
I think I just saw beautiful work of arts in there…”

“Oh…
(smiles as she goes ahead of Key explaining)
That is one of the gallery room of this university.
You have quick eyes…”

“Anything beautiful, my eyes are quick…
come Mom… hold on....
Is it alright to come inside without asking permission…”

“(nods and looks around)
This is a public place for everyone to see.
The gallery is open so I guess it is alright…”

Key eyes widen as he sees something similar from what he saw inside Donghae’s house when they went for a meet and greet.
Turns his face to Tiffany…

“Mom… do you see what I see Mom…?”

Confused Tiffany comes closer to Key and tries to figure out what his son is trying to show her…

“Hon… what is it…?”

Key does not respond but raises his arms to let his fingers run to a particular painting and automatically without being asked, he says…

“This painting has similar with that one hanging...
I mean displayed inside Uncle Donghae’s house.
It’s a child’s painting .
So raw, playful yet expresses a lot of emotions so innocent…
I want to know what is the name of the painter
for this…”

“We can ask Mr. Eunhyuk perhaps he has an idea.
(grabs Key’s right hand)
Come, let’s meet Mr. Eunhyuk,
we cannot have him especially wait for us, can we?”

“(smiles  sighing) Silly Mom…
Okay, let’s go. Is he a nice guy?”

“(beams) Of course sweetie…”

Outside the President’s Office, Tiffany gasps as she sees Eunhyuk waiting for them all smiles.

“Oh…Mr. Eunhyuk is waiting for us…
how embarrassing that he is already
waiting for us…”

“(makes a quick turn to look)
Oh…so he is Mr. Eunhyuk…”

“Yes…come now sweetie…
it is embarrassing to ask the President to wait
for us…”

Eunhyuk waves at Tiffany and looks more excited to finally meet Key thinking to himself…

“Oh…so this is Key, the globally known
respected young international artist…
wow…amazing…”

And finally speaks greeting Tiffany and Key as they come closer to him…

“Good afternoon Ms. Tiffany.
It is nice to meet you again…”

“Oh… Good morning Mr. Eunhyuk…
by the way, I would like you to meet my son…
(smiles as he introduces his son)
Key, this is Mr. Eunhyuk the School President…  
Mr. Eunhyuk, this is my son, Key….”

“Good morning Mr. Eunhyuk.
I am pleased to meet you…
(extends his hand for a shake hand)”

“The pleasure is mine to meet someone like you
Mr. Key…thank you for coming over…”

“(face blushes) Oh… Mr. Eunhyuk,
I would feel uncomfortable if that is how you
are going to address me…
please, if you will, kindly call me Key…”

“(smiles) Okay…
Key, I trust you will have a fine time here…
come inside …
(waves at Tiffany)
I will give your schedules and by the way, Key…?”

“(raises his face)Yes Mr. Eunhyuk…?”

                                                               “After reviewing all your home schooled subjects,
                                                               I found out that some of the subjects
                                                               that they have taught you were advance subjects…
                                                               so that it is for this reason that I agreed to resgister you
                                                               as an irregular fourth year focusing on your major degree,
                                                               Fine Arts majoring in Painting and Sculpting…
                                                               (turns to face Key) It would be nice if you
                                                               still have other talents that you wish venture into…
                                                               (gives the laminated Identification acrylic cards
                                                              These are the laminated acrylic cards.
                                                               It is like a swipe card…”
