I always lock my door
Unlocked Doors
Sulli giggled richly. “Aren’t you letting me in?”
“I guess-”
“Nope!” she said before Luna could say anything else. “It’s better like this. I still don’t fully control myself.”
“What have you done? What happened?”
“I changed,” said Sulli trilled.
“Are you okay?”
“A-okay!” she said. “Everything is surreal, Luna. I can feel, hear, taste, smell and see ten times better, maybe more. I can do so many things.”
“But you are happy?”
“I am…” said Sulli. “I wanted to know if you were okay.”
“I am always okay. I’m Luna the invincible remember?”
“Right...” said Sulli smiling widely. “You will not forget me, Luna?”
“Me? Forget? You are the one that forgets everything!” said Luna smiling back. “I will never ever forget you Sulli. Even when I’m old and wrinkly and you are still running around looking like a stupidly young teenager.”
Sulli’s smile faltered just a bit. “Luna, I could… now that I am a-”
“No,” said Luna. “My dream is to grow old besides someone I love, maybe by the fire, cozy and warm. Besides that paleness thing you both got going on does not go well with my eyes.”
“Are you sure?”
“Positive. If I find no one to love me and grow old together, I’ll just get a cat. I like having a whole soul.”
"I have a soul... only I share it." Sulli smiled. There was a small moment of silence. “Good night, Luna.”
“Good night, Sulli,” said Luna as she pushed the door shut, letting her last image of Sulli be an incomplete and somewhat scary view of her..
“Lock your door!” said Sulli from outside.
Luna chuckled. “I’m not you,” she whispered loud enough for her to hear. "I always lock my door."
She locked the door and closed the padlock. There was total silence.
So that was it. That was goodbye. Luna never saw Sulli again. Maybe a glimpse or two at night but she was never sure.
