She had loved her
Unlocked Doors
“What are you doing Sulli?”
Sulli turned to see Hayoung. She stood by her door as it was slowly closed by the wind. Her eyes were wide and they talked about unspoken questions. Sulli stood before Krystal as if that would ever hide her or protect her. She didn’t thought about it, she just did.
“Hayoung! What are you doing up so late?” asked Sulli trying hard to sound normal but she definitely didn’t. But Hayoung did not heard her, she was staring at Krystal.
Krystal placed her hands over Sulli’s shoulders and gently moved the girl to the side. There was no use on trying to hide anymore.
“You didn’t listen to what I said? You should have followed my advice,” said Hayoung.
“I have come to learn that Sulli doesn’t listen to anyone’s advice," said Krystal suddenly.
Hayoung’s face retorted with disgust, anger and disbelief. “How dare you address me, after you killed Yookyung?”
“I didn’t kill her.”
“But you hurt her!”
“It was… an accident. I did not intend to be so harsh,” Krystal seemed too cautious and Sulli wondered why she looked so alert. “I regret it. I’m sorry.”
Hayoung chuckled softly, with a hint of exhaustion. She was tired of this, tired of Sulli’s stupidity, tired of Krystal’s lies and tired of her own paranoia. “You regret nothing…”
“I do not regret sending her away… I regret hurting her. I scared her.”
“Scare her…” Hayoung chuckled again with sarcasm. “She died, imagining you at every corner, behind every door!” Tears began to roll down her cheeks.
Krystal was quiet and thoughtful. “Hayoung… the truth is that I really visited her.”
Sulli’s stomach felt strange. Krystal felt her change and she offered her hand. A gesture that said ‘trut me’. Sulli didn’t push it away and took her hand on her own.
“I went once… when I learned about her state. She was too traumatized. I told her I was sorry. She asked me things… I answered her. Yookyung didn’t respond to anything else I said. So I left…”
Hayoung stood quiet. It made sense. How would Yookyung know what she was? Krystal told her. She really visited her. Hayoung knew Yookyung. Silence meant she was thinking, plotting something. She had been planning Krystal's death. Yookyung had always been a retaliator.
Hayoung dropped down to her knees. The knife she had held secretly on her back was now on the floor.
Sulli losen her grip on Krystal’s hand. “I’m sorry Hayoung…” She took a step toward her. She was careful with every step. Sulli bent down and Hayoung allowed her to get close. Sulli hugged her. Hayoung hugged her back. They held each other tightly. Hot tears fell freely.
She was helpless… She lost Yookyung...
She had loved her so much.
