You can’t sleep that night. You were trying to remember the accident, if there was any bit of memory of your mother that moment. You were staring at the window while lying in your bed. It was raining and dark. You felt a sudden loneliness and then warm tears started flowing down your cheeks. Without thinking, you got out of the bed, removed any cords attached to your body, ad got out of your room. You were running, headed for the stairs. You went up, never minding which floor you are already on. Then you reached the topmost floor. You pushed the door and quickly stepped over the railing. You looked down below and were shocked by how high the hospital building was. You don’t want to know how many floors it has because it didn’t matter. You just wanted to escape this reality, that you are now alone and sad. Besides, no one would care if you got hurt, if you die.

“You don’t want to do that.” You got surprised. You can’t see who it was because it was raining and dark. Somehow, you recognize the voice but the harder you think, the dizzier you get.

“MWO?! Who's there? Show yourself!” You shouted at the black silhouette.

“Its not important.”

“Please, step back. No offense but, you don’t know a thing about me and how I feel right now”, you replied as you were sobbing and having a tight grip on the railing.

“You’re right, I don’t know a thing about you. What I do know is that you are so young to be thinking about this. You may think that dying is the only way to get out of your loneliness but it isn’t. You don’t have any assurances if you will if you die because you might go the other way. God has a reason for everything.”

“If He really did the accident and took my mom, then He is a bad God!”

“We may never understand why, but God is righteous. He never makes mistakes and always makes the right decisions. He has the reason why He let you lived. I don’t know why He let me lived but I am thankful He had let me.”

“I wanna know why! Its just that, I feel so sad, so alone, so…”

“You know, just get off the railing… ”

His voice, velvety and deep, commanded you and you easily obeyed. “okay. thanks and I’m sorry for the trouble I caused you. May I ask what your name is?” there was no reply. “Hello?” you searched the place but you thought that he may have already left. I hope to meet him again…and hope to know who he is…he enlightened me and saved me…I will find YOUR voice…

You were watching tv when the door opened and Mr. Lee came in.

“Sir, I-I am sorry about the last time. It’s just that-”

“There is nothing to be sorry about. I know how it feels to lose a mother, a feeling like being so angry at everybody.” He quickly replied. “Well, how are you feeling? You quickly recovered from your injuries. The doctor said you could check out here tomorrow.”

“I am feeling better now. Thank you, sir, for all the support and for visiting me in person. I just feel so lonely now that…anyway, the social welfare services would be here tomorrow to pick me up and put me in an orphanage since I am still juvenile. Thank you, really, for everything.”

“Listen, Min Yeon, I have something to offer to you. I know about your talent, to compose and to sing. How would you like to enter the Seoul Entertainment and Arts Academy? ”

“Thank you for the wonderful offer, sir, but I have no money, nowhere to live and I am not that good in my talents.”

“My child, I didn’t say anything about you paying. SM Entertainment will take care of it. You just have to enter our agency, and work there.

“SM Entertainment?”

“Yes, its my agency. You don’t know about it? it is the most powerful entertainment that brought Super Junior, SNSD, f(x), Shinee, TVXQ…”

Your head suddenly hurts again and its getting a usual thing whenever you think hard about your past.“Oh, the doctor said that I might have amnesia. I only remember the people and things closest to me. So that’s why I don’t remember any of the celebrities…”

“Oh, is that so? I just hope you didn’t lose your talent…”

“I hope, too. Uhm…will I be going in as a maid, like Princess Sarah? You know, for the exchange of the education?”

“No, silly! You will be our young composer.” You then remembered your mother with his reaction, realizing that he and your mother might have been really close. ”your mother had been telling me a lot about you. I wanted proof about your skill so she showed me your works. This would be the first time that we will be training a composer, so what do you think?”

Your head hurts again as pieces of memories show in your head. “um, this is too many to take. This is too much, sir. You would provide me with education in exchange of writing songs for you? But what if nothing came to my mind? What if-”

“Ms. Park had made me promise, before she died, that I would take care of you. I owe her a lot, you know. She generally was a prodigy, and she thinks you are, too and I believe her.”

Hearing those words from Mr. Lee, the founder of the most successful agency in Korea, is touching and flattering. He is not any rich, old man who only cares about money. He is actually granting your mother’s last wish for you. You took a moment to think about it and stared at the window for a while.

“okay, sir, I will take your offer. But one question, where will I stay?” :)
