Chapter 22

[Author’s POV]

“He’s engaged. To her.”

Those were the very first words that left Hyoyeon’s lips ever since Taeyeon came in 30 minutes ago. Taeyeon knew for sure that the ‘he’ was Eunhyuk but she had no idea who the ‘she’ was. One thing was puzzling Taeyeon, for if Eunhyuk was engaged, Hyoyeon would have stand by him and fight to the end with his fiancée, not crying alone in the dance studio.

The Hyoyeon she knew was fragile, not weak. Taeyeon knew she was strong enough to fight for her own love. Especially when it came to Eunhyuk. Even without meeting him, from Hyoyeon’s phone calls, Taeyeon knew her sister had found her true love and vice versa. Eunhyuk was the right one for her and there was no reason for Hyoyeon to give up that easily.

When it comes to the thing she love, Hyoyeon never gives up.

“He’s engaged. To her. To her. Her. Her.” Hyoyeon whispered, repeating the word ‘her’.

“Hyo, you have to tell me what happened.” Taeyeon coaxed lightly, hoping that her sister won’t just shut her out like that.

Hyoyeon looked into the eyes of Taeyeon, her orbs were blank and full of pain. Slowly, she wiped away the tears on her face and took in deep breaths. For the first time since the entire incident had happened, Hyoyeon found herself calm; those calmness you felt when everything just came rushing down all of a sudden and you become so numbed that you can’t even feel the pain.

She stood up abruptly and went to open the door. Immediately, the ladies rushed in, some holding Hyoyeon, some stood warily behind while others went to Taeyeon for answers.

“Eunhyuk’s engaged to someone.” Taeyeon’s voice rang throughout the room, freezing everyone but her and Hyoyeon in their positions.

“Who…” Sooyoung whispered, afraid of Hyoyeon’s reaction.

Five minutes passed but silence still enveloped the whole room. No one spoke waiting for Hyoyeon to tell them the answer.

Swallowing the lump stuck in , Hyoyeon tried to find her voice back. She turned away from everyone and faced the mirror. A lone tear slid down her cheeks as she revealed the answer to the mystery.

“The cousin of Park Gyuri from Park Shipment and Co, the daughter of the Hwang Electronics. Lee Hyukjae is engaged to

Tiffany. Hwang. Mi. Young.”
