Yunho only stare at the deep red car in front of him. As much as he wanted to look away, his eyes refuse to as images that he just recently saw replay in his mind. Even though it was dark, even though it was raining, the deep red color of the car that hit Geun suk and the deep color of this car were the same. Yes, there are lots of cars out there with similar color but his gut feeling is telling him this is might be the one. He shifted his gaze from the car to Hyun Soo who seems to enjoy having little argument with Jaejoong. An uneasy feeling started to appear as he begins to think what if this is the car and what if the driver that night was him, was Jaejoong’s older brother. Upon this thought Yunho quickly shook his head telling himself that he is just over thinking it. There is no way a lawyer with such a high reputation commits a crime and flees.

“Yunho…?” came jaejoong’s voice as he noticed the strange look upon Yunho’s face “what’s wrong?”

Yunho tried his best to smile “it’s nothing…”

Jaejoong on the other hand wasn’t buying it as he bends down to Yunho’s level and look him in the eyes “Your complexation isn’t good…it’s as if you just saw a ghost….I think we should go see the doctor just to be sure nothing else is wrong…”

Yunho could feel his heart flattered with joy knowing the fact that this man actually care about his wellbeing but well this change after the truth is known?

“Don’t worry…I’m fine…just a little exhausted…”

“Then let’s go to your apartment” said jaejoong as he reached out his hand to help Yunho stand. Once Yunho got to his feet he took a step along with jaejoong before Hyun Soo reached out and grabbed onto his brother’s arm

“Where do you think you are going?” he asked “You are supposed to go home with me”

“how time must I say it until you understand…I am not going home with you….I have plans with Yunho tonight so go home yourself…”

“You are making this very hard on me jaejoong ah…you use to listen to everything I say…”

“Yes…up to the point where I realize that even the brother I look up to couldn’t accept me for who I am and what I want to be…” glare jaejoong

Hyun Soo glanced at Yunho who was feeling uncomfortable being put in this situation between siblings.

“Maybe…You should go home” Yunho spoke “I am fine now and I don’t want you to get into trouble jaejoong…we can talk tomorrow at school”

Hyun Soo lip curved into a smile “See…even he understand…”

At this point jaejoong had enough of his older brother as he glared at him before yanking his hand away

“I’ll be frank with you Hyun Soo…” he spoke without calling him ‘hyung’ “back when we were kids it was fine with you grabbing onto me because you were a older brother who protects me but now…I am not a child…I would rather you stop grabbing onto me with the intention of forcing your way upon me…” he glared “things is not the same as it were before…as long as you have the same mind set as dad…as long as you try to force your way of thinking and doing things upon me and disregarding my feeling as well as what I desire then don’t come near me…if you continue to then don’t blame me when I start to hate you for real”

With that being said jaejoong dragged Yunho toward the apartment entrance. Yunho happens to glance back a bit and noticed the twisted expression upon Hyun Soo’s face. It was a mix of everything that will give a person chills. Yunho opened the apartment door as jaejoong entered first. He on the other hand was still uncomfortable with everything that had taken place.

“Why are you standing at the door for?” jaejoong asked upon noticing that Yunho has yet to move from the door

“Are you sure about this jaejoong? Your brother seems angry and your dad will as well…I don’t want you to get into trouble…”

“Don’t worry about them…it’s not like this the first time…I have grown accustom to their anger…” Jaejoong paused when he notice how uncomfortable Yunho looked. He scratch the back of his head a bit embarrassed that he let his emotion took the best of him “Sorry that you have to witness that…sometime my brother can be quite annoying…he has always been like that since we were young…always by my side…always leading me to places…at first it was nice because there was someone there to help me when I needed help but…we are no longer children…we are adults…he have a career he loves and enjoy….but for someone who use to follow and look up to him…I don’t see myself walking the same path as him or anyone else in my family…I just wish he would understand…” Jaejoong sigh

Yunho on the other hand only smiled “regardless if he understand you or not…he is still your older brother…the fact that he can annoy you and you can fight against him is a given…I on the other hand is an only child…I didn’t have anyone to fight with or get annoy by…it’s…a pretty lonely life you ask me…”

“If you like I can give him to you” Grin Jaejoong

“Don’t make your brother sound like something you can just lend someone else…”

“How about one day? I can get a day of peace without him”

Yunho chuckled “as tempting as that sound…I’ll have to pass…”

“And here I was hoping to get rid of him and have him torment someone else” smirk jaejoong

Yunho couldn’t help but return the smile before walking away from the door and headed toward the kitchen “what would you like to drink?”

“Anything is fine…” said jaejoong as he walked into the living room and notice the mess.

“I have some water and beer…which would you prefer” he asked but received no response.

Figuring jaejoong probably don’t want to drink he grabbed a bottle of water and headed to the living room before stopping dead in his track as his eyes widen in shock. Standing in the living room is jaejoong holding onto an article Yunho had printed out regarding Geun suk’s death. All the documents he has dug up about Geun suk’s accident is still laid out throughout the living room. Even his laptop still remain on top of the coffee table plug in and has not been turn off since yesterday. Everything he has read is still open and available for jaejoong to see. Yunho turn his gaze from the stuff on the table and then he meet jaejoong’s puzzled and shock eyes.

“What….is this?” jaejoong asked “why are you researching Geun suk’s death?”

Yunho had wanted to stall time a bit more before they jumped right to the point but being absent minded, he had forgotten to clean up.

“Yunho…” jaejoong called to him but he didn’t respond “Yunho!”

Upon Jaejoong’s loud voice Yunho stiffen and paused but too scare to meet jaejoong’s eyes

“What is going on here? why…why are you reading about Geun suk’s accident…why would someone like you who doesn’t know him will be digging up information on him…” jaejoong asked

Yunho couldn’t say a word as he senses that jaejoong is upset.

“Tell me!” he snapped feeling like Yunho was doing something out of line

Yunho took a deep breath before facing jaejoong properly as their eyes meet. This surprise jaejoong as if he is staring at a different person.

“You…just who are you?” jaejoong asked feeling this uneasiness surfacing from deep inside. For the first time since he meet Yunho, he felt cautious being near him.

Meanwhile Changmin, Yoochun and Junsu were still at the apartment discussing the situation and figuring out what to do. It wasn’t until changmin brought up another disturbing matter.

“Hyun Soo is also back in town” he spoke

“Hyun Soo?” Junsu only rose an eyebrow unsure who this person was. It took him a few seconds before it finally clicks as his eyes widen in shock “HYUN SOO!! That baster is back in town!”

“Didn’t that guy left the country a year ago?” Yoochun asked

“Yes…and from the sound of it he is planning to take Jaejoong with him to France…he even told me so…”

“That guy is crazy…” Junsu commented

“It took everything in me not to punch his lights out…” said changmin

“Heh if it was me I wouldn’t hold back…someone need to put him in his place…” grin Junsu

“will…I figure I can’t go to jail yet…I still have to help solve this mystery with Geun suk’s death…after that I can always punch him…” said changmin with a smile just thinking about his fist landing against Hyun Soo’s face.

“His protectiveness of his little brother is bit too creepy if you ask me” said Yoochun “in my view it’s not an older brother wanting to help a little brother but rather a grown man obsessed over another man…”

Junsu was quiet for a moment before speaking “Jaejoong have this aura about him that attracts people…attracts unwanted attention…his brother is no exception…”

“that’s gross…they are blood brother” said changmin

“Correction…they are half-brothers…Hyun Soo was from the first wife who passed…Jaejoong and his sister is from the second wife…”

“Even so…they are still related by blood…” said Yoochun

“If I remember correctly Hyun Soo use to be an awkward child…he was always alone and doing his own things…he didn’t have much friends nor could he get along with others…Jaejoong on the other hand was out going and very active…everyone loved him and he get along with anyone regarding of gender or age…Hyun Soo’s only heaven was his little half-brother jaejoong…for as long as I have known them, Hyun Soo has always adore Jaejoong…I guess it’s understandable why Hyun Soo is to obsessed with his little brother…” said Junsu

Both changmin and Yoochun became quiet as they remember those awkward encounters with Hyun Soo back then. When jaejoong was around, he will smile very gently and friendly but the minute jaejoong is out of sight, that once gentle expression will be twisted into an expression of annoyance and hate towards others.

“Right now I couldn’t care less about Hyun Soo…what I care about is bringing Geun suk’s killer to justice…after that we can deal with him…” said Changmin

“what if he take jaejoong to France…?” Yoochun asked

“Jaejoong won’t go…” said Junsu

“how sure are you?”

“I’m sure because now he has another reason to stay here”

Junsu look at Changmin a bit before eating a piece of cookie “I just hope….jaejoong won’t abandon that reason after learning the truth…”

Yunho and jaejoong stood in the living room staring at each other for what felt like hours. Neither of them spoke a word as they tried to figure each other out.

“Do you remember what I asked you earlier?” asked Yunho as he broke the silence

Jaejoong started to think as he try to remember any kind of question that Yunho had asked until it landed on just one question

*Flash back*

“what…will you do if you end up meeting someone who received part of…” he hesitated a bit becoming even more nervous “part of….Geun suk?”

*End of flash back*

Upon this question jaejoong became nervous as he looks at Yunho with his chest becoming tight as his heart started to race.

“You already know that I was blind…you already know that the cornea I have now was donated to me to allow me to see the world…to see you…to see everything that is beautiful…what you don’t know is that these corneas…they came from someone important…someone you treasure very much…” Yunho walked over and took the article from Jaejoong’s hand to look at the news and a picture of Geun suk. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before opening them again as the ceiling lights made it glows. He turns the article over to show Geun Suk’s picture “these corneas…they were Geun suk…”

Jaejoong’s eyes widen in shock as he stare at Yunho in disbelief before looking at the picture. For some reason both their eyes are similar “Is this a joke? If so it isn’t funny”

“it’s not a joke…you already know what kind of a person I am and I don’t joke around about these kind of things…to be honest…I didn’t even know about this until recently…I only knew someone passed away and I received a donor…I only knew that whoever this person was had given me a chance to see again and for that I am grateful…what I didn’t know was who my donor was…”

Jaejoong was hoping this was just a joke but the way Yunho talk, the way he looked at him wasn’t that of someone who was playing a mean joke on him. He felt his body become weak and numb as he sat down. Just looking at Yunho’s eyes sends a chill down his spine as if the person looking at him is the man he once loved “this is real…this is real…” he spoke like someone in total shock. As unbelievable as this sounded, it did kind of makes sense. Whenever he looks into Yunho’s eyes he gets this feeling like he is staring back at a dear friend.

“After I found out that my cornea was Geun suk’s cornea, I started to want to know more about him…about his accident…so I was doing some research…I didn’t want you to find out this way…I have wanted to tell you first but due to me forgetting to clean up…you end up finding the articles first”

“hold on…give me a minute to register this…it’s not…it’s not settling well with me…” jaejoong spoke with his voice started to shake as images of Geun suk flashed before his eyes reminding him of those time he had spent with this special person “proof…”

“huh?”

“do you have proof that it really is his?”

Yunho lower his gaze and didn’t say anything because it’s not like he have solid proof of this being true except for what he was seeing.

“If you don’t have proof…don’t be making such a terrible assumption yunho…this isn’t right nor is it funny…you already know how important Geun suk was to me…how much I loved him…to say something like this without any solid proof is plain cruel…if you think that by saying something like this will get me to love you than you are wrong…it doesn’t work that way”

“You have it wrong…I wasn’t saying this so that you will return my feeling” Yunho defended himself “I am only telling you the truth because I felt like you deserve to know…and…” Yunho paused “and…I want you to also know that Geun suk also loved you…”

Jaejoong stood up feeling like he has heard enough. He started to regret coming here; he should have just gone home with Hyun Soo.

“Don’t you dare go there Yunho…” jaejoong glared at him “I have already passed that stage of my life…I have learn to forget that love…I have learn to push those pain aside and move forward so why the hell are you trying to bring it all back now…I thought you say you love me”

“I do!” snap Yunho “oh believe me jaejoong I really do love you…but…I can’t keep this to myself…I have to let you know…I want to relay his feeling to you so you will understand how much he also treasured you…”

Jaejoong could tell Yunho was being serious as he became speechless for words. The pain he thought he had forgotten was started to resurface as it become harder to believe that the man before him, the very same person he was starting to fall in love with also bears something of his past love that he had hope to forget. Does this mean that every time he looks into those brown eyes thinking he might love his man, he was actually just feeling the lingering love he still have for the man who these corneas belong to?

“To be honest…there is more however…I can’t say all of them yet…I can only say these to you to let you know that Geun suk was my donor and that he also loved you as much as you loved him…I didn’t want you misunderstand his feeling…misunderstand that what you felt from him was only friendship when in truth it was actually love….”

Yunho bends down and picks up the open blue box before giving it to jaejoong “He…had buried this box with a special gift for you…I believe he was hoping to have you dig it up but he was never given the chance to ask you to do it…”

Jaejoong slowly shifted his gaze from Yunho to the box in his hand. Now that he thinks about it, he remembers seeing this box in Geun suk’s room before. He took the box from Yunho while his hand was shaking. Yunho could tell that all of this was too much for jaejoong to stomach in at once. If he was in his place, he too would have the same disbelief expression.

“Ring…” Yunho spoke causing jaejoong to stiffen as he looks at the empty box in his hand “he…placed a ring in the box as a gift for you…”

Upon this thought jaejoong couldn’t help but let out a soft chuckle “now that…I can believe you…” he smiled softly trying to hold back the emotion that is getting ready to explode “Geun suk…is a unique guy who always have a strange and unique way of doing things…when he was still alive we had went out shopping when we came across a couple shopping for a pair of rings…I had made a joke how I would want the person I love most give me a silver ring that will bond me to him forever…”

Yunho touched his finger where the ring is hidden under the bandage nervously “I’m sorry jaejoong ah…the ring…without realizing it, it was placed onto my finger and well…it’s now stuck…but when I’m able to remove it…I’ll give it to you” he spoke a bit embarrassed

Jaejoong was taken aback by the fact that Yunho have the ring and it’s stuck on his finger. He wanted to laugh but felt like it was make Yunho more embarrass as he reached out his hand to Yunho “let me see…”

Yunho hesitated a bit before removing the bandage to reveal the silver ring that glimmers under the ceiling light. Jaejoong stood up and walked over to Yunho and held his hand to look at the ring. It was as beautiful as he had hoped it to be, Geun suk was always very good at picking out the best piece of jewelries. Jaejoong placed his two fingers upon the ring and with a single and gentle tug, the ring became loose. Yunho’s eyes widen in shock and disbelief. No matter what he did, the ring wouldn’t budge and yet a single tug and jaejoong got it loose. This means that only the owner of this ring could remove it? He watched as jaejoong started to slide it through his finger. He felt his heart racing, his chest tightens at the thought that jaejoong will take this ring and wear it. Will it be the same thing as him accepting Geun suk’s feeling? Upon this thought Yunho bended his finger slightly not allowing the ring to be fully taken off. This surprise jaejoong as he lifted his gaze to meet Yunho’s bitter and painful expression.

“Jaejoong…I…” Yunho wanted to tell jaejoong not to accept it, not to take it but he knows it was not his right to tell him what he should do “never mind…” he said before making his finger straight again to allow jaejoong to take the ring off “take it…it belongs to you…” he smiled with a hint of sadness

Jaejoong slide the ring off of the finger as Yunho felt like the chance of making jaejoong his was also taken away. Jaejoong look at the ring before tilting it and notice the engraving. It was simple, short but holds Geun suk’s true feeling. All the memories jaejoong shared with him started to flash before his eyes as he is reminded of those great time.

“he…was probably hoping to give it to him when the time is right…” spoke Yunho

Jaejoong was quiet for a bit before he put the ring back into the box surprising Yunho as he closed the box “no…he was never planning to tell me his feeling…putting this ring into the box…burying it…he was going to bury his feeling forever without ever telling me anything…that was his way of letting me go…not letting me be tie down by his feeling of love…if he was to confess to me…he knew I would never let him go…never be able to walk on my own two feet...chase after my dream on my own…”

Jaejoong turn to Yunho and smiled “You once told me how painful it feels not knowing rather my feeling will be answered because the person is no longer alive….but…with this…I have my answer…”

Yunho could tell jaejoong wanted to cry but he was forcing his tears back while trying to be tough.

“You can cry Jaejoong…don’t hold yourself back because of me…”

Jaejoong only shook his head “no…I’m not going to cry…not anymore…I have cried enough for him…cry enough for this missed love…” he handed the box to Yunho “do me a favor…can you put this back to where you found it…it’s best to leave it there where he buried his feeling…buried his heart…”

As happy as this made Yunho, he felt like this gift shouldn’t be buried away. He gently pushed the box back to jaejoong “keep it…treasure it…keep it as a memory…not of someone who loved you but as a dear friend who treasured you…he probably wanted you to have it…”

Jaejoong look at Yunho’s eyes and couldn’t help but imagine Geun suk looking at him. Just the expression on jaejoong’s face was enough for Yunho to guess that rather than seeing him, this beautiful man is seeing Geun suk in him. Just this thought alone made Yunho’s heart ached. He knew that the minute jaejoong learn of the truth, those big brown eyes will no longer be looking at him but rather the person he received these cornea from. This reminded him of his mother as he closed his eyes too afraid to see anymore.

“What’s wrong? Does your eyes hurt?” Jaejoong asked

Yunho shook his head refusing to open his eyes as he forced himself into darkness “It’s not in pain…I figure this will be easier for you…you probably don’t want to be reminded of him…seeing my eyes will only bring you pain…reminded you of the person you lost…”

Jaejoong didn’t say a word as Yunho continued “my mother…when she lost my father it drove her mad…she…says my eyes reminded her of my father…my eyes looked exactly like his that every time I look at her she sees my father looking back at her…at the end…she…” Yunho was finding it hard to continue as if something big is being stuck in his throat as the words he wanted to speak would not come out “if…if you are uncomfortable…I will keep my eyes close…I will cover my eyes so you won’t be reminded and be in pain…I want you to smile always not having to be constantly brought back to the past…if you want…I can also have another replacement….”

Jaejoong only stood there and look at Yunho who had his eyes tightly shut. He can’t help but felt touched and yet felt his heart in pain knowing Yunho will force himself to live in darkness for his sake. If this isn’t true love then he isn’t sure what is.

“You are as big of a idiot as he was…both of you are always thinking about me…pushing me forward when I didn’t want to go anywhere….you two would rather put yourself in pain then to put me in pain…I missed one love…I don’t want to miss a second…” spoke jaejoong “open your eyes Yunho…”

Yunho on the other hand was too afraid to open them. If he opens his eyes and sees the expression not meant for him but for his donor, he wasn’t sure he could handle the pain.

“Please open your eyes…” jaejoong asked once again but Yunho made no movement to open them thinking that maybe the only thing he wanted to see was the Geun suk’s cornea that is now alive in him.

Jaejoong let out a sigh understanding what Yunho is thinking “Yunho…didn’t you say that after you told me the truth…you will confess to me once more? I have my answer”

Yunho stiffens as he felt his heart racing. He thought it would be easy after telling the truth and confess but now that he thinks about it, maybe it would have been easier to confess first. As much as he wanted to know the answer, his mouth and his body were refusing to move. He is constantly reminded of his mother…reminded of the rejection he got from her. He knew they are two different people, he knew that jaejoong might not reject him like his mother but that feeling he felt during that time was starting to overpower him.

Jaejoong stood there and waited but received nothing from Yunho. As much of a patient man as he could be, to wait for Yunho to take a step further was annoying him. He reached out to touch Yunho but it only made him flinched as jaejoong retreat his hand.

“I take that back…you are a bigger idiot then him…” Jaejoong spoke with a hint of disappointment.

Yunho felt jaejoong walk pass him and headed toward the door. He could hear the door click open and then it closed. He immediately opens his eyes and turn toward the door. Jaejoong have left and Yunho let him leave. Yunho thought he could do it, he thought that everything will go smoothly but now he learned something about himself and that is…he is a coward. He clinched his fist tightly angry at himself, angry for being too scare, angry for not doing anything. It wasn’t jaejoong who was rejecting him after learning of the truth but rather the one doing the rejection was him. He couldn’t accept the truth…he couldn’t accept that fact that Geun suk was his donor and he couldn’t accept the reality that every time he looks at jaejoong it is actually Geun suk who is seeing him.

Jaejoong descended the stairs deep in thoughts feeling very disappointed in Yunho. He felt his heart become heavy as his chest tightens. If Yunho have confessed, he would have given him the answer he wanted. But at the end, Yunho didn’t say anything, not even when he left. As jaejoong made it outside he was surprise to see that Hyun Soo haven’t gone home yet but is sitting on the bench touching his phone. From the look of it he was waiting for jaejoong to finish his business.

“I thought I told you to go home…” jaejoong spoke

“if I go home without you…dad will not let you off easy later…I figure I’ll wait and go home with you…but don’t worry…I already called the old man telling him that you and I have stopped somewhere to eat…” he spoke before standing up “are you done?”

Jaejoong turn to look at the apartment building with a bitter and sadden expression before turning to his brother “yea…I’m done…”

Yunho turn his gaze from the door to the table and notice the little blue box is still there. Jaejoong didn’t take it with him. Was this his answer? Was this the answer to Yunho’s love? Upon this thought Yunho quickly dashed out the apartment and headed down the stairs. When he got outside it was too late, Hyun Soo’s car has pulled out away from the curve and headed down the street until it made a turn and disappear from sight.
