Chapter 25
Running With WolvesA knock was the sound that made Sunrin look up from the drawing she was working on at her bedroom desk. She heaved out a sigh already knowing why one of the guys had made his way to her bedroom door. Of course her outburst upon entering the apartment had sent her Oppa's into panic mode. It was the norm for her Oppa's to panic when they saw her in distress after all. Another knock on her bedroom door was heard before she turned in her chair.
"Come in." She said softly.
That was when Hoya opened her bedroom door and stepped into her room before closing it again to give them at least some privacy. Sunrin wasn't a fool though. She knew every pair of werewolf ears in the living room were listening in on their conversation.
"So... Woobin's in town?"
Sunrin raised an eyebrow at Hoya. It was clear he was not used to these one-to-one conversations she would sometimes have with other members of the pack, for example Sungjong and Myungsoo. She could see how uncomfortable Hoya was by just standing there, waiting for her reply. Deciding to put him out of his misery, Sunrin sighed lightly before nodded her head.
"I ran into him at the Coffee Shop. He's here on a school trip." She explained as she watched Hoya walk over to her bed to sit down on the mattress.
"And you're not happy about that?"
"No, it's not that. I was really happy to see him after such a long time. It's just... He and Minah don't seem to like each other very much which for me. They're my best friends and I just always assumed they'd get along if they ever met each other. Instead, I spent the last hour in the middle of a debate over who was the better friend to me."
"And that wouldn't have been fun for you I'm guessing." Hoya said, understanding Sunrin's predicament all to well.
"You know. I know you and your friends aren't werewolves like me and the others but you do have the foundation of a pack."
Sunrin couldn't help but laugh at Hoya's words. Her friends and herself were nothing like the pack that she knew. For starters, Woobin didn't even live in the city so they rarely saw each other and Minah and Woobin didn't get along at all. The only thing they seemed to have in common was Sunrin.
"That's not true."
"How? The way I see it, Minah and Woobin are bonded to you like all of us are bonded to Sunggyu. He's the Alpha. He might not always make the best decision and he can be stubborn as hell but when it comes to you, we follow his decisions because we trust his judgement. Woobin wouldn't have stuck around for an hour while on his school trip to get to know Minah if it was anyone else but you, even if all they did was argue in the end."
Sunrin raised an eyebrow, seeing Hoya's logic. She allowed him to continue. His words were oddly offering her some comfort.
"I now you said they don't get on but he stayed for you. The same goes for Minah, she could have easily gone home instead of staying at the Coffee Shop. To me, it seems like you might be the Alpha of this weird friendship triangle." Hoya explained. Reeling over Hoya's words, Sunrin couldn't help but let out a small laugh.
"I'm serious. Think about it. Minah and Woobin don't seem to like each other but they're both friends with you. They know you have a good sense of a person character because if you didn't, what would that say about them?"
Sunrin didn't laugh this time. What Hoya was saying was actually starting to make sense to her. Could she really be some sort of Alpha?
"That and it has only been an hour that they spent together. If they had more time to get to know each other, I'm sure they would learn to like each other, or at least tolerate each other for you."
A smile spread across Sunrin's lips at those words which sent a sense of relief through Hoya's body. He couldn't believe he was saying the words that put that smile on her face. To be honest, Hoya had been terrified as he stood at her bedroom door, waiting for her permission to enter her bedroom. He hadn't known what to say or do to comfort her but now it seemed to him like he was doing a pretty good job at it.
"Okay, I'll admit that what you're saying makes some sense and you just give me the best idea ever. Woobin has a free day tomorrow and he made plans with me to catch up. If all they
