Seokjin was stunned by the beauty of the new student standing in front of him.

Yoongi, his classmate introduced Taehyung, his neighbour back in Daegu to his group of friends during the lunch time because the kid was simply following Yoongi everywhere. Seokjin cannot be helped to be struck by the bright square grin of the younger. Taehyung sat in front of Seokjin and putting down his food tray on the table.

“That’s a cute lunch box!”

Taehyung said the very first thing he thought when he saw the pink lunch box of Seokjin’s. With that, Seokjin’s heart was touched by the younger.

It did not take a long time for Seokjin to approach the younger because of Taehyung’s friendly character. Taehyung spent a lot of his lunch time with Seokjin to know what is inside of Seokjin’s pink lunch box because it never the same and Seokjin was always trying to impress the kid with his cooking skill. Seokjin who was just Yoongi’s classmate turning into Taehyung’s lovely brother in the school.

Seokjin was so sure he is in love with the younger and decided to confess with a special lunch box for Taehyung. But he was not expecting to see Taehyung walking hand in hand Hoseok. They said they are not in relationship but Seokjin saw the differences.

Nevertheless, Seokjin still loved Taehyung. He was there waiting for Taehyung during the lunch break, he was there to wake Taehyung up in the library when he fell asleep again and he will be there waiting the moment Taehyung need him the most.

Because all he ever want was Taehyung’s happiness and he was fine with it.

Until he heard the news.

Seokjin thought it was just a stupid joke the group made or they were testing him to see whether they found out about his feeling towards the younger but it was neither. Taehyung was inside of the white casket, looking beautiful lying inside holding the white rose.

Taehyung’s family was crying, his friends were sad and Hoseok refused to come to see him the last time. But Seokjin went to see the person he loved, wondering if he is able to survive with that bright smile and cute puppy clingy kid with him, who loved his pink lunch box and wanted to had some because it was so cute.

The only one who appreciated his existence in his own life, who loved him because who he was and not because of his favourite things or pity for being orphan.

“He’s dead…”

Seokjin said, as he was looking at the pink lunch box he made for Taehyung as usual, on the bench under the tree at the park.

“That’s a cute lunch box.”

Seokjin heard the same phrase but from a woman, so he looked up and saw a beautiful woman standing in front of him, holding a cup of coffee as she was smiling at him.

“You can have it.”

Seokjin said, giving the lunch box to her.

“Really? You don’t want it? Such a waste. The girl made it for you.”

“Actually I made it.”

“Eh? Then why’re you giving it to me? Isn’t it for someone else?”

“…. He’s dead anyway.”

The woman looked at him before taking the lunch box out from his grip.

“It’ll be a waste to throw it away.”

“I never seen you before around this neighbourhood.”

“Oh… I was walking around, looking for something.”

“Did you find it then?”

She shook her head.

“Can you help me to find it?”

Seokjin looked at the lunch box he gave to her before nodding his head.

“Thanks! My name is Eunjung.”

“I’m Seokjin. Nice to meet you.”

“Ah, Jin. That’s what I’ve been looking for.”

Eunjung smiled, holding onto the lunch box tightly.

Seokjin woke up from the weird dream he had and stared into the space before chuckled lightly.

“Stupid. As if Taehyung can live again.”

He sat on the bed and letting his legs out from the blanket, starting his new bloomy day with a bath but he felt his legs lost the energy and fell down to the floor. He groans in pain and struggled to make himself in sit position before he realised the smeared blood on the pad of his thumb and a small cut behind it.

Exactly the same in his dream.

“It couldn’t be…”

Seokjin gasped and was about to grab his phone on the table but he just realised he was in the different room, not the one he had in the orphanage. Seokjin frowned as he looked around his room and landed his eyes on one particular framed picture on the wall.

Him with a man and woman.

Seokjin walked down the stairs slowly, peeking to see the presence of a woman in the kitchen, humming to a song as she made a breakfast for the start. Seokjin was mesmerized by the situation that he always had in mind when he was a kind – to have a family, to be part of someone.

Seokjin was brought back to his sense when the woman greeted him with “Good morning” and a sweet smile – exactly the same like his.

“Go fresh yourself up and have some breakfast before you go for your class.”

“O-Ok…”

“Oh, and I packed a lunch box for Taehyung since it is his birthday.”

Taehyung.

Seokjin ran up to his room and grabbed his phone, quickly dialling for Taehyung’s number. Beep after beep, Taehyung did not answer his phone which makes Seokjin disappointed but not until he received a message from the younger.

From: Taehyung

            I’m in the class rn. Can’t talk ; ; See you at lunch <3

Seokjin smiled.

Taehyung’s alive.

Seokjin ran along the hallway of the Art building and pulled Taehyung into a tight hug when he saw the younger walking out from his classroom. Taehyung yelped at the sudden hug and blinked.

“W-What- hyung! What’s with sudden hug?”

“Just a minute.”

“Hyung, it’s too tight-“

“I missed you… so much. I missed you, Tae…”

Taehyung blinked at the cracked voice of the older and looked up to see Seokjin crying.

“H-Hyung, are you alright?”

Taehyung broke the hug to check on him but Seokjin pulled him back into a hug and buried his crying face on the crook of Taehyung’s neck. Confused with the situation, Taehyung only patted his back gently and caressed Seokjin’s brown hair as whispering soothing words toward him.

Everything he ever dreamt before, Seokjin got it.

Both family and Taehyung, everything went perfectly well. He were able to feel to have a dinner with family and a weekend outing near the Han River. To have an advantage of being Taehyung’s neighbour, the younger loved to spend his night in Seokjin’s room for a usual night talk. Taehyung never change in this new life, as clingy as he always be and Seokjin was able to caress the soft hair and cheek of Taehyung as watching the younger smiled and snuggled.

But it turned out that Seokjin was not meant to be with Taehyung when he dated the dancer, Jimin.

The late night talk has be lessen as Taehyung spent more time with his boyfriend. But Taehyung never forget about him. He always made his time for Seokjin. Even after he moved together with Jimin and got engaged with the man. Taehyung always sit there by the kitchen counter and watched Seokjin cooking with that bright smile of him.

Seokjin thought it was fine, not to have Taehyung again. At least he got a family he wanted and a happy Taehyung as always.

But he never expect a smile and weak laugh stayed with the sick Taehyung.

Seokjin thought being a doctor in this life helped him but it tortured him instead to know the real condition of Taehyung’s health and how much percentage Taehyung might survive the cancer – which is clearly low in possibilities.

Seokjin was still being next to Taehyung and filled his days with laughter every time he visited. He also made sure Jimin was mentally able to accept the truth. And a long period of lies, Seokjin was waiting for a bad news of Taehyung’s death.

“You said you’ll give him another life.”

Seokjin said as he held onto his soju cup tightly, looking at Elsie standing in front of him in his apartment.

“Another life for another ending. Didn’t say he won’t die again.”

“You liar!”

Seokjin threw the cup towards her but she caught it with her hand.

“You made him suffer …”

“No. YOU made him suffer this time.”

Seokjin sighed.

“… Take a piece of me again.”

Seokjin said.

“And give him another life.”

Third time and Seokjin was going to make sure Taehyung will not die again.

He did not care about his new family or his new lifestyle or job that did not suit him at all. All he cared was to make sure Taehyung stayed alive. It was never hard for Seokjin to find Taehyung when their bond never broken despite of many changes.

It always stayed as a senior - junior relationship.
