Amber’s POV

“WHAT THE HELL!!” I’m sure my shout startled both of them.

Yes, there is two people in front of me now, .

Ellin and Paul, her distant cousin. I really can’t think straight right now.

I just rush and punch Paul in the face, make him fall to the floor,

I keep on assaulting him with my punches

“Stop Amber!! Please stop” I don’t give a damn about Ellin’s plead right now

“Stop!!”

*PANG*

I can’t believe it. I touch my cheek. I can’t believe that she just slap me.

Her slap is not painful, but the thought that this is the first time she ever slap me,

that one is painful indeed.

“Go Paul, I will handle her” I just stood there like a mannequin.

Paul immediately wore his attire and Ellin just wore her bathrobe that are placed beside her bed.

After Paul leave, she sit at the corner of her bed and I,

still standing, trying to think that this is all just a nightmare,

so I can wake up in the morning with the thought that she still there with me.

My tears start to well up in my eyes,

I don’t know how much longer I can hold it from falling down.

“Am…I can explain” finally she talked to me

“What the hell was that Ellin?! For god sake,

you are making love with someone else when you already have me,

are you crazy huh! What the hell is wrong with you!!” I just shout at her, my tears start to roll down my cheek.

“Give me the chance to explain Am. 

He is my cousin and I'm sure you know him, you've met him before.

The thing is, when I go back to my hometown,

my father and his father want us to get married and I don’t know what to do Am.

It is my family request, and I can’t turn it down”

“For god sake Ellin, why can’t you just tell them that you are already engaged with me huh!!!

Is it so hard to admit that I’m your fiancée?!” My vision start to blur with the tears that keep on falling like a waterfall.

“That is another thing Am.

I….. " She hesitated to continue her words

"What Ellin?"

"I’ve never told them that I’m engaged to you. 

The only person that know about our engagement is Paul”

I just fall down to my knees when she said that. 

Not only the fact that no one from her family know about our engagement hurt me,

but the fact the only one who know about us is Paul, her scumbag cousin.

OH GREAT!! Just GREAT!!

“Why did you do that to me Ellin?

Have I done anything wrong to you?

Is the love that I give to you is not enough?”

“You’ve done nothing wrong Am. I’m really sorry. 

You always love me with all your heart and I appreciate that.

I feel so loved with your love and affection, but--”

“But what Ellin??

Tell me what is the problem in our relationship so I can fixed it.

Come on Ellin, be honest with me...

I’m willing to forgive you and we can build our relationship back…

Please Ellin” I crawl to her and grab her hand.

I’m frustrated with her cheating on me,

but everyone can make mistake right?

That’s why I’m willing to forgive her and give her another chance.

You left all of it just to become wedding singer.

I’m not trying to ridicule your decision Am and I don’t want to sound materialistic,

but I want some stability in my life, and I don’t see how stable my life is if you just work as a wedding singer.

I don’t want to be harsh Am, but sometimes in life, love alone is not enough to be happy Am”

I just froze listening to her. I don’t know how to react,

it’s true that being a wedding singer, the pay is not as grand as other job,

but I’m happy with it, I’m happy with modest life.

But it never crossed my mind that Ellin never think the same way as I did.  

She loosen my hand on her and stand up, walking toward her window.

“Just go Am and I’m sorry for everything” She said, her back facing me.

I stood up, wiping my tears.

“After all this year, why now Ellin? Why now?”

I just left after I say it. I left her house, I run to my bike.

I wear my helmet and look at the extra helmet.

I throw away the extra helmet at the lawn of her house.

back when we are together.
