"wha- aawoaaaAAHH!"

Tiffany barely had time to register the push on her back before she was sliding forward much too quickly for her liking, headed uncontrollably for-

"Oof!"

Tiffany crashed into the back of the other person, slipping and falling despite the other person taking the brunt of the impact.

The other girl had skated forward a few feet as a result of the force against her back, but she quickly turned around and skated back towards Tiffany.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" The girl, a small girl with blonde hair, offered a hand to help her up.

It was the very girl who Tiffany had been admiring as she skated gracefully around the rink, the girl who she had admitted to her friends she thought was pretty.

How the hell did she not fall after I hit her?

Tiffany shook her head, taking the hand. "No, no, I bumped into you, I'm so sorry! I'm a failure at skating."

"Is it your first time skating?" The girl asked, her small mittened hand warm against her own. Oh my god, I just touched ice, I must be freezing her hands!

"Yeah," Tiffany answered, blushing as she let go of their hands. The other girl didn't seem to notice.

"Oh. Well- uh- do you want me to teach you to skate? Are you here with anyone?"

Just as she said that, she saw her friends skate by slowly, giving her a wink. She knew exactly who had pushed her.

How do I say that I am but my friends apparently ship us and left me here with you without making me look like a creep?

She sighed, watching her friends skate blissfully slowly around the rink. "My friends ditched me." She let out a subconscious pout, still staring at them, before glancing back at the other girl. She had a surprised expression on her face for a second before she smiled kindly.

Tiffany couldn't breathe.

Who said that she could be this cute just with a smile? How is this allowed? And she's so nice?

"That's okay, I'll help you!" The girl, who was wearing a warm-looking black sweater with a sleeping bunny on it, grinned toothily.

Exhibit A! Adorable grin. adorable personality, and adorable sweater= a-ing-dorable person!

"I-I- Uh, thanks!"

The girl's smile faded. "Unless you don't want me to. Sorry, I should've asked if you wanted to first. You don't have to have me help you. Sorry if I make you uncomfortable. Also your friends are here. Sorry."

She looked so genuinely upset at the thought that she didn't want her help, Tiffany couldn't help but to grin widely. It was absolutely ridiculous how this short girl was upset about asking someone else if they wanted help and Tiffany loved it.

"I'd love for you to help me..."

The blonde brightened up again. "Taeyeon! My name's Taeyeon. What's your name?"

"I'm Tiffany."

"Cool. Good thing there's not a lot of people today for you to trip over."

"Yeah," Tiffany laughed, pleasantly surprised to hear Taeyeon's ahjumma laughter at her own lame joke.

"Come on," Taeyeon smiled, after she had stopped her loud guffaws. "The best way to learn skating is to skate!"

"I think you forgot the fact that I can't skate."

"Sure you can! I'll help you! Here, hold my hands."

Tiffany's face immediately flushed red, but she did as she was told, gently placing a hand into each of Taeyeon's outstretched ones.

"Now just bend your knees a little for balance, whatever feels natural, and just walk forward on the ice...One step at a time."

Tiffany hesitantly followed the instructions, stepping forward carefully. She wasn't so much skating as she was walking on ice, but she wasn't exactly falling either.

"Good job, Tiffany!"

Tiffany could feel herself blush, moving forwards slowly as she faced the shorter girl.

"Taeyeon...are you skating backwards?"

"Yep!"

What the actual ?

"You're not even moving your feet!"

"You don't really have to lift your feet to skate, but it's a bit harder to get the feel of it."

Tiffany stared at the grinning blonde incredulously. "How are you so good at skating?"

The girl let out a shy laugh. "I used to figure skate when I was little. Like five or six. Didn't last long, and I didn't get very far, but I learned enough to be able to balance on ice."

That explains it. She's a ing figure skater. No wonder why she's so skinny too.

"But I'm not really a figure skater!" She amended, as if she knew what Tiffany had been thinking "I can't really do spins or anything like that. I can pretty much just balance and move forward."

"And backwards."

"Well, and backwards too, I suppose."

The warm chuckle that came out of the skater's chest heated up Tiffany's chest and cheeks, all the way to her frozen fingers and toes.

"You're doing great, Tiffany!"

"I can barely call this skating."

"But you can balance! Balance is the most important part!"

Tiffany shook her head with a small smile on her face. She couldn't help but to like this girl, far beyond the physical appearance that had first attracted her attention. How was it that this girl could be so excited about every little thing?

"If you say so, Tae."

Taeyeon grinned.

"I do say so! Hey- have you ever skiied before?"

"Yeah, but I at that too."

"Snowboarded?"

"Nope."

"Slid on wood floors and socks?"

Tiffany laughed, finding the question a little absurd. "Yeah, I have."

Taeyeon smiled. "Great! How did you slow down?"

"Uh, I pushed against the floor kinda? Tried to dig in?"

"Yes! That's exactly how you stop in skating."

"I can't even start."

"Well, stopping is more important, in my opinion. Everything is scarier when you don't know how to stop. That's why I don't skateboard." Taeyeon grinned sheepishly, flicking her head rather attractively to move her long hair out of her face. "So try to stop first! I'll pull you along- just try to stop me, alright? I won't go super fast, either."

"Alright..."

Tiffany blushed as Taeyeon held on tighter to her hands, pulling her along gently. Tiffany enjoyed the ride and the feeling of their hands clasped tight for a minute before she remembered what she was supposed to be doing, instinctively leaning back slightly to dig her feet in the ice.

"Don't use your heels. Use the blade- it's long and thin, which helps you glide on the ice, but to stop, you need to drag the long part along the ice or use the long part to push against the ice. It'll create friction and slow you down."

Tiffany did as she was told, effectively slowing them down. Taeyeon grinned, letting them stop in the middle of the rink.

"You're a fast learner, Fany!"

"Fany?"

Taeyeon just nodded, offering no explanation, and Tiffany chuckled.

For the next half an hour, Taeyeon taught Tiffany how to skate. Tiffany found that Taeyeon was an exceptional teacher- exceptionally adorable too. She seemed to have a good eye, easily understanding where things were going wrong, but she also constantly praised Tiffany- ten minutes in, she was squealing "I'm so proud of you!" just for skating forward a few steps, hands still holding onto Taeyeon's tightly(for balance, of course).

But all good things come to an end, and Taeyeon stopped her in the middle of the rink again.

"I think you can do this on your own now. Do you want to try letting go of my hands?"

Tiffany wanted to desperately shake her head no, and not because she couldn't do it on her own, but it would make her look desperate. So she nodded hesitantly, letting go of Taeyeon's hands.

Taeyeon skated a few feet away, holding her arms out. "Skate to me!"

A little overexcited to get to Taeyeon, Tiffany rushed forward, barely skating a few steps before she slid, skidding all the way, straight into Taeyeon's arms.

"Oof!" Taeyeon grunted, chuckling at the girl who had slammed into her and was now holding tightly onto her waist. "Well, you did it, though I do feel a little deja vu."

Tiffany pouted, letting go of Taeyeon's waist.

"It's okay," Taeyeon said with a smile, reaching over to pat Tiffany's head, "I'm so proud of you!"

Tiffany couldn't stop blushing. She skated away slowly, hiding her face, only to slip and fall again when she turned around to see what Taeyeon was doing.

"Woah- hey! You were doing pretty good there!"

Tiffany groaned, taking Taeyeon's offered hands.

"Here- I think you'll need this more than me," Taeyeon said with a teasing grin, slipping her mittens off and putting them on Tiffany's hands.

"T-thanks," Tiffany looked down, hiding her red face, her hands warming up in the mitens.

"Skaters, the rink is closing. Please make your way off the rink."

"Hey- do you think you can skate to the door on your own?" Taeyeon challenged.

"Uh..."

Tiffany thought she could, but if she did, that would mean that Taeyeon wouldn't let her hold onto her anymore.

Taeyeon must have taken it as hesitation or fear because she asked, "How about I hold your hand? I promise I'll catch you if you fall?"

Tiffany nodded, the pink cheeks flaring red again.

"Come on then."

Tiffany held tight to Taeyeon's hand as they skated the short distance to the exit, knowing that she would have to leave soon.

They made it there safely, carefully guided by Taeyeon.

"Perfect!" The cute girl exclaimed, earning a smile from Tiffany.

She helped Tiffany off the ice and they just stood there, still holding each other's hands. They were the last two people out of the rink.

"Well- thanks, Taeyeon. I had fun today with you."

Taeyeon grinned. "It's nothing. I had a lot of fun today with you too."

"How are you getting home?"

"My friends are right over there," Taeyeon pointed to a couple of girls behind them, taking off their skates.

"Oh. I'm sorry I kept you from your friends," Tiffany looked down at the realization.

"It's okay. They didn't like skating that much so they were off the ice a lot anyways. Sorry for keeping you away from yours."

"That's okay, they ditched me anyways."

Taeyeon nodded, with a smile. "Well...see you around, I guess."

Tiffany just nodded as Taeyeon let go of their hands and walked away, towards her own friends.

As soon as Taeyeon had turned away, Tiffany was immediately surrounded by the very people who had pushed her into Taeyeon.

"All that hand holding- nice, Tiff!" Yuri held her hand out for a high five, which Tiffany responded to distractedly.

"Did you get her number, Tiff?" Jessica asked, knowing her friend well.

She froze, turning around and running back to the girl she liked.

Taeyeon was just about the leave, stepping through the open doors when she shouted, "Taeyeon!"

And as Taeyeon spun around, her hair flowed in the air and the automatic doors opened like some cheesy shampoo commercial, but for once, Tiffany was absolutely mesmerised.

"Tiffany?" She asked, walking back towards the girl who had called her. Her own friends looked back curiously, grinning when they realized who she was walking back for.

"Taeyeon- I- Can I have your number? Or your insta? Or snapchat? I mean, if you're not comfortable with that it's okay, I just thought that I enjoyed spending time with you today and-"

Taeyeon smiled, taking her hand in her own to calm her down.
