Chapter 14

**

Seulgi approached Joohyun who was sitting on the vacant stool just in front of the mini grocery store near the hospital where she usually picks her up from work. Joohyun was hanging her head low while massaging her temples. “Hyun?” Joohyun carefully looks up and saw Seulgi’s worried face “Are you okay?” she asked carefully while walking closer to her.

“Seul.” Joohyun stood up and hugged Seulgi

“What’s wrong?” Seulgi patted her back softly

“Appa’s in the hospital they said it was mild .” Joohyun said carefully

“Wha..what? your.. your father?” Joohyun slowly nodded “Is he okay now? Are you okay?”

“Yeah.” Joohyun pulled off from Seulgi and looked into her eyes “I filed for leave… again.” She said with sadness in her voice “I.. I want to go home first.”

“I’m sorry come on.” Seulgi started picking Joohyun’s bags but the latter stopped her, she looked at Joohyun with confusion “Wae?”

“When I mean home.. I meant.. I want to go back to Daegu.” Seulgi finally processed what Joohyun said and slowly nodded.

“You.. you mean you want to go back to Daegu?”

“Seul.”

“If that’s what you want I wouldn’t stop you Hyun.” Seulgi smiled sweetly “I know your family needs you to be there.”

“Seulgi.” Joohyun smiled while cupping her girlfriend’s cheek “I want you to go with me.”

Seulgi froze. “Me?”

“Yeah but only if you want to… I mean you have work here.. I know that.. and I –“

“Shushh Hyunnie I’ll go with you.” She smiled at her before pulling her again into a hug “Wendy would understand and besides it’s only an hour or so drive.”

“Thanks Seul.” Seulgi felt Joohyun hugging her tightly “I love you.”

“And I love you too.”

“Yeah I’m really sorry Seunghwan-ah.”

“It’s okay Seul! Just be there for Joohyun and her family first.”

“I really appreciate this! don’t worry I’ll send Yerim there when she finishes school so she can help you with stuffs you know.”

“No! it’s okay! I can do it Seul don’t you trust me?” Wendy laughed on the phone “Don’t worry I’ll call you when I need you.”

“Yeah thank you Wannie.”

“No problem Kang! Tell Mr. Bae to get better okay? From ME! HEHEHE!”

“Silly but yeah I gotta go now. I’ll help Joohyun pack first.”

“Okay bye!”

“Bye!”

“Hyun you need any help?” Seulgi asked when she got inside their room

“I’m almost done.” Joohyun answered “Have you told your parents yet?” Joohyun looked at her

“Oh yeah wait should I call them now?”

“Babo. Go and tell them!” Joohyun shook her head while smiling

“Arasso!”

“Seulgi-ahhh?” Mrs. Kang answered the phone

“Umma!”

“How are you my bear? Why’d you call? Is there something wrong?”

“Nothing’s wrong Mom.. I mean yeah.”

“Where’s Joohyun? Are you with her?” Seulgi smiled and put the phone on speakers.

“Yeah she’s here Umma.”

“Joohyun?”

“Nae? Umma?” Joohyun answered whilst Seulgi took a sit on the bed

“How are you dear? Is my bear treating you well? I miss you two! It’s been a longtime since we’ve skype!”

“Sorry Umma we got of kinda busy.” Joohyun answered

“So what’s with the call Seulgi?”

“Umma.. me and Joohyun are going to Daegu tomorrow.”

“Daegu? Tomorrow? Wae?”

“Umma.. my father got .. and i.. I asked Seulgi if she could accompany me.”

“Omo! I’m sorry! it’s alright Hyun just be careful on your way there.. and Seulgi! Take care of Joohyun okay? And your father I hope he gets better already.”

“Neh thank you umma.” Seulgi smiled at Joohyun before picking her phone from the bed

“Umma it’s me.” she stood up and walked to the kitchen

“Seul how’s her father doing?”

“I really don’t know to be honest..”

“Okay just be careful there okay? and be good to Joohyun’s family! Bring some fruits for her father!”

“I will.”

“Don’t worry I’ll tell your father about this.”

“Thanks Mom.”

“I miss you Seul!”

“I miss you too Mom!”

“When will you visit me and your father eh? We haven’t seen you in a while!”

“Sorry I.. if everything is fine with Joohyun then will visit you there.”

“Okay! I love you!”

“Love you too Mom.”

Seulgi went back to their room and saw Joohyun already talking to someone on the phone. She also finished packing their things so she just sat down on the bed while listening to Joohyun talking.

“When will he wake up though?” Joohyun asked worriedly

“I think I’ll be there tomorrow.. yeah.”

“Thanks Gum-ah.”

Seulgi’s ear perked with the sudden mention of name. She looked at Joohyun’s back as if boring holes with them. When Joohyun finished talking she turned and saw Seulgi looking at her.

“Hmm? What’s with the face?” she asked Seulgi while picking the things scattering in the floor

“Who was that?” Seulgi tried to hide the jealousy in her voice. This is not the right time to be jealous of Bogum.

“Dr. Park.” Joohyun casually answered “He’s the one attending to Appa.”

“Oh.” Was all she could answer “Right.”

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing.” Seulgi got up from the bed “I’ll take a bath first.” Seulgi was about to go when Joohyun called her

“Seul?”

“Huh?” she looked back to her girlfriend and saw her smiling at her

“Thank you.” and with that Seulgi couldn’t help but also smile. Oh how weak she is for Joohyun’s smiles.

“Welcome.”

“Did your sisters tell you when will they be here?” Mrs. Bae asked Seohyun while they were on the room. Mr. Bae hasn’t wake up yet since yesterday.

“Tiffany unnie said she’ll be here on Wednesday with Taeyeon unnie.” Seohyun looked at her mother “Joohyun told me she’ll be here tomorrow.”

“But she has work?” Mrs. Bae asked

“She said she’s on leave.” Mrs. Bae sighed before holding her husband’s hand.

“I hope your father wakes up already.” Seohyun looked at her fat
