The Thirteenth Tale

Time seemed to have stood still as the final whistle blared throughout the stadium.

The atmosphere weighed heavily on his shoulders, draining the last bit of his profound energy.

Sungjong panted, sweat dribbling down his temples, and his eyes widening in disbelief. 

All the hard work they did...

All those sleepless and countless nights...

Sacrificing school and suffering the consequences...

He looked at the scoreboard. 

Everything had finally paid off.

"We... won?"

Loud cheers took over the long silence.

Smiles... hugs and fist bumps...

He could only cry with tears of joy.

This had been what everybody's been anticipating for for so many years.

Tasting victory was new to him, yet, he felt so much elation and success.

His captain ruffled his hair. 

A broken chuckle came from his throat.

"We won?"

"Heh, we won all right."
