“Once upon a time there lived an unhappy young girl. Her mother was dead and her father had married a widow with two daughters. Her stepmother didn't like her one little bit. All her kind thoughts and loving touches were for her own daughters. Nothing was too good for them - dresses, shoes, delicious food, soft beds, and every home comfort.

“But, for the poor unhappy girl, there was nothing at all. No dresses, only her stepsisters’ hand-me-downs. No lovely dishes, nothing but scraps. No rest and no comfort. She had to work hard all day. Only when evening came was she allowed to sit for a while by the fire, near the cinders. That’s why everybody called her Cinderella.

 “One day, beautiful new dresses arrived at the house. A ball was to be held at the palace and the stepsisters were getting ready to go. Cinderella didn't even dare ask if she could go too. She knew very well what the answer would be: You? You're staying at home to wash the dishes, scrub the floors and turn down the beds for your stepsisters. They will come home tired and very sleepy... Cinderella sighed, Oh dear, I'm so unhappy!.

“Cinderella wished she could go to a fancy ball at the Prince’s palace.

“Magically, a kind fairy granted her wish! Cinderella’s raggedy clothes turned into a beautiful dress and glass slippers.

“The fairy warned Cinderella as her carriage rode away: ‘Remember, your wish ends at midnight, today!’

“When the Prince danced with Cinderella, he fell in love. But Cinderella knew she had to run away by midnight.

“As she ran, she lost one of her glass slippers.

“The prince found it and he began to search his entire kingdom to find her.

“The prince finally found Cinderella and placed the lost slipper on her foot.

“She was so happy and the Prince yelled ‘Hooray!’ so the two of them got married the very next day! The End” Jun Mi’s mother finished

The seven year old Choi Jun Mi climbed onto her mother’s lap and bombarded her with questions and kisses.

“Oh! Look at the time… Time to go to bed Princess.” The mother carried Jun Mi to her bed.

“But I’m not yet tired mother…” Jun Mi cutely rubbed her eyes as her mother tucked her into bed

“Oh really? Do you know that princesses sleeps early in the night?” her mother told her daughter

The little child widened her eyes and spoke, “Goodnight mother! The princess is now very tired and need to sleep.”

The mother laughed at her daughter’s sudden change in mind. She leaned in and kissed her daughter on the forehead, “Goodnight my princess…”
