Night approached the country and a certain lamb refused to listen to its fox mother.
"I am old enough to make my own decisions now! And I already promised the shepherd's dog to play with him tonight!" it bleated.
The fox replied: "Oh, so you gave him your word? Then you should go, and not break your promise BUT keep in mind you also promised your best friend the cow to meet him tomorrow at sunrise."
"I will! I will!" The lamb shouted happily and went to play with the dog almost all night long.

When the sun was about to rise the lamb was still soundly sleeping, much to the foxes dismay.
The fox unable to wake it up on his own went to get his friend the rabbit. Only with joined forces they were able to have it open its eyes and go to his date with the cow.
The poor lamb was barely able to converse with his friend even though just the day before he could think of nothing other than playing with its dear friend.

When finally it fell asleep again the cow kindly took it back to the fox.
