What Life Is All About

“Chorong!” Woohyun shouted for her name when he kicked off the locked door. Luckily the door was opened, revealing an unconcious figure in front of his eyes. Woohyun’s eyes went big as he saw the unconcious girl, lying on the dirty floor. He quickly bolted in, checking her up if there’s any injury on her body. Fortunately she didn’t suffer from any injuries or scratch on her skin, yet she’s still unconcious which made Woohyun to panic up. Like seriously, Woohyun couldn’t even think right. He’s going to blame himself if anything bad happened to Chorong.

“Chorong! Park Chorong, wake up!” He shook her body yet there’s no even respond from her. Woohyun tried to check for her pulse, he held her hand in the most gentle way, afraid if he’s going to hurt the girl. Oh, thank goodness that her pulse currently working in normal rate. Without waiting any longer, Woohyun quickly carried the girl in the bridal style. Wow, this almost feels like a dream to Woohyun, having Park Chorong in his arms. It didn’t took a long time for him to arrive at the nurse’s office since it’s only located quite near from the stairs which lead to the rooftop.

“Nurse, please help me!” He shouted as he entered the office. The two nurses who’s currently in charge quickly bolted to him and led Woohyun the way to the treatment room. Woohyun carefully put Chorong on the bed, hoping that she’ll feel better.

“Gosh, what happened to Miss Park?” The nurses asked Woohyun in sync as they checked on Chorong. Woohyun told them that he found her lying on the floor in the old storage room. Well, luckily Woohyun didn’t blurted out the fact that his fangirls just harmed Chorong. He’s going to deal with that matter later. What’s important right now was Chorong.

“Ah, luckily that she’s totally fine. I think that she lost her energy because she didn’t eat. She’ll probably be okay, later.” The other nurse said. Woohyun let out a relieved sigh and thanked the nurses. Thank goodness that Chorong was okay if not he’s going to kill himself. The nurses then excused themselves, leaving only both of them in the room.

He took a seat on the chair beside the bed, his eyes never leave Chorong’s figure. “Gosh.. This girl is totally innocent. This is all my fault.” Woohyun muttered to himself as he frustratedly ruffled his hair. He shouldn’t let this happen again. Maybe it’s true. He needs to keep her away from himself. In that way, she’s going to be safe. God, why must those crazy fangirls exists? He didn’t even ask for them. In fact, he’s only an ordinary human.

Without his realization, his hand reached Chorong’s hand and gently massaged it. It feels weird when their skin brushed. The electrifying effect, he wondered if Chorong felt the same way too.

“Park Chorong, you drive me crazy,” He said, bringing Chorong’s hand to his right cheek. Her hand was soft, and he could feel that his cheek was turning hot. He wondered why it turned like that. Why did Park Chorong really affected him alot? Like seriously, she really knows how to make him felt mesmerized by her own way. Sometimes, it really felt like a dream for him to even stand close to her.

But then something hits Woohyun, real hard. No, Chorong would be harmed if she’s with him. She’s not safe, unless she kept herself away from him. Yeah, right. He needs to avoid her, in order to keep her safe. Like seriously, how come those kinds of humans exist? He couldn’t understand it.

Slowly, he put Chorong’s hand back to its place. It’s still feels like a dream to even hold her hand, and it really feels like heaven. He stared the beautiful figure for the last time before he left the room, hoping that she’ll wake up soon. From now on, Woohyun promised himself to be more careful when it comes to Chorong. He didn’t want her to be harmed again because of him. Seeing Chorong from afar is already enough for Woohyun.

         “Rest well, angel.”

“Oh my, I’m so tired!” Sunggyu said as he threw himself on the sofa. His hand swiftly loosened the tie around his neck, it feels quite hot since the summer finally came. Eunji scrunched her nose upon seeing her husband’s action. She threw her bag away, and took a seat beside Sunggyu.

“Thanks for sparing up your time with me today. You must felt tired.” Sunggyu said. Eunji smiled, she felt glad that Sunggyu really understands her life as a high school student. And she felt really touched since Sunggyu still willing to spare his time for her. Eventhough he’s busy with his works at the office, he still wanted to take her out. Truthfully, they enjoyed their lunch alot today but still... It’s quite awkward since Eunji wore her school uniform during their lunch date.

“You too. Thanks for taking me out. But seriously, you need to tell me next time if you wanted to take me out. It’s quite awkward to go to the date in my school uniform. At least, you should let me to wear a proper attire or at least a dress.” Sunggyu chuckled upon Eunji’s long statement. But then she’s right. Other people might think that they’re only siblings, not husband and wife.

“Okay, I’m going to make sure that I’ll bring at least a dress when I fetched you up for a date.” He said while playfully ruffling his wife’s hair. Eunji shrieked, making Sunggyu to laugh out loud. Gosh, he’s wife is so cute. He could never resist her cuteness that makes him to more.

“I’m going to wash up. Gosh, I had so many homeworks today.” Eunji said, standing up from her seat. Sunggyu pouted as Eunji left him and went upstairs. Like seriously, he missed Eunji. He’ve been so busy that he didn’t have enough time for her. But still, he’s glad that Eunji understands him.

It didn’t took  a long time for him to finally decide to go upstairs too. He needs to rest himself. After all, he already asked his father’s permission for half-day. And of course, his father was glad, he didn’t really took a long time to approve it. After all, his father also adviced him to always take a good care of his wife and spend some time with her. Anyway, he’s going to a business trip later so he thought that spending more time with Eunji would be good.

As just as he’s nearing to his room, he stopped his step right in front of Eunji’s room. He couldn’t help but smile when he heard her sweet voice singing in a very harmony way. There’s no way to deny it, Jung Eunji really had the most beautiful voice in this world. Her voice was really attracting and tempting to him. He even put his ear against the door to hear her voice more clearly.

“God, what an angelic voice she had,” It feels strange. His heart couldn’t stop beating whenever he heard her sang. It feels truly magical. Jung Eunji really knows how to make him mesmerized by her own way.

The peaceful moment didn’t last long as suddenly Eunji’s singing stopped and the room door was opened by itself, revealing the surprised face of Jung Eunji. Of course, how would you react when you caught someone eavesdropping you against your bedroom’s door? Sunggyu couldn’t help but swore to himself. Crap, this is so embarrassing. Sunggyu gulped on his own saliva as he looked up to his wife. Damn, his cheeks were starting to feel hot. For the first time in his life, he felt so embarrassed.

“What are you doing?” The question slipped from Eunji’s lips. Sunggyu stuttered as he’s trying to find an answer. What a nerve-wrecking moment.

“Nothing. Just... Just checking you out,” Sunggyu’s heart was beating in a freaking fast rate. How couldn’t he? His wife just changed into her pajamas, which really looks cute to him. Oh my god, like seriously he felt like bursting. He felt butterflies in his stomach.

“Well.... That’s weird. I’m totally fine, don’t worry.” Eunji said as she walked out from her room. Her hair was tied in ponytail, and she looks totally adorable in that pink pajamas. Eunji hummed as she made her steps to downstairs, leaving her husband behind. But just then, she stopped.

“Clean yourself up, I’ll wait for you downstairs. I’m going to cook the dinner for tonight.” She went downstairs after she said that. Sunggyu couldn’t even move himself, like seriously his legs were totally limb.

“God, Jung Eunji. What’ve you done to me?” He palmed his own face, his breathing became hard. Dang it, he needs to control himself. It’s still early for him to fall for her. But it doesn’t even wrong right? It’s not even a crime for a husband to fall in love to his own wife. “What are you talking about, she’s just a high-schooler.” He muttered under his breath as he quickly made his way to his room.

He harshly threw himself on the bed, trying to close his eyes. But then he can’t as he could feel that Eunji’s voice kept echoing in his mind. Gosh, what should he do right now? He couldn’t think of anything except his wife.

“No, not yet.” He mumbled to himself as shook off his head. A calm smile was drawn on his lips as he got up. It didn’t took a long time for him to finally bolted into the bathroom and wash himself. He should be hurry since his wife was waiting for him downstairs.

Eunji prepared all of the food that she already plated on the dining table. It’s nothing grand but just some kimchi spagghetti. Well, it’s the simplest thing that could be done since there’s no much ingredients in the fridge. It’s more than enough though.

“Hey,” Sunggyu greeted her, he was currently wearing his blue-checkered pajamas. Aw, how cute he looked. Eunji couldn’t help but smile. “Have a seat.” She said. She was happy as Sunggyu gave a  good respond to the dishes. It’s such a fortunate thing since Sunggyu isn’t a picky person when it comes to food.

“Gosh, this smell really nice,” He said as he sniffed the plated kimchi spagghetti for their dinner. As a wife, of course she would felt very delighted to receive such kind of compliment from her own husband. It’s an advantage for her since she really had a strong interest in cooking. Well, back then she usually learnt from her maids.

“It’s nothing grand, but I hope that you’ll enjoy it.” She said as she poured the orange juice into the glass and passed it to Sunggyu. “Gosh, this already more than enough. By judging to its smell I bet that it must tasted good,” Sunggyu complimented, making Eunji to blush.

She took a seat beside her husband, and started to dig into their dinner. After a spoon, Sunggyu quickly marked, “This really tasted good!” Eunji couldn’t help but felt happy too. The happiness was totally different from when she cooked to Naeun or the other girls. It feels like she’s so appreciated.

They ate quietly, and it’s quite awkward since none of them said a thing. Sighs, the painful silent made Sunggyu to wonder why Eunji didn’t utter any words during their dinner. But at last, Sunggyu being the one who broke the ice between them.

“So... I guess that you got so many homeworks, huh?” After those words slipped from his mouth Sunggyu literally cursed himself. Like seriously, he couldn’t think of any topic aside from that. Eunji took time to answer his question since she’s still munching the food in .

“Yeah. I’m going to stay up late, I guess.”

Sunggyu drank his water, after for a while of thinking he finally decided. “Let me give you a company tonight.” Eunji knitted her brows as he looked at her husband. It’s such a good thing that Sunggyu wanted to give her a company yet then she knew how tired Sunggyu was. She didn’t want to burden him. After all, he’s going to the busincess trip soon and he needs enough rest.

“No. It’s okay, I’m going to be alright.” Eunji said, reassuring him. But of course, Sunggyu insisted.

“Come on, I want to spend a little bit of my time with you. After all, I’m going to business trip soon. It’s okay, I’m not going to work tomorrow though.”

With that, Eunji couldn’t resist. Sunggyu was right, and his actions shows that he’s trying to be a responsible husband. She got to admit that Sunggyu is just way too perfect for her. Sighs, too bad that she couldn’t be a perfect wife for him.

Eunji stood up and cleaned the table as both of them already finished eating their dinner. That’s the most heart-fluttering dinner that she ever had for the rest of her life. Eventhough it’s still awkward yet Eunji needs to admit that she got butterflies in her stomach because of Sunggyu’s caring actions — and those conversations that she had with him too. They might haven’t knew each other that much but they really makes a good pairing.

Just as Eunji predicted. Sunggyu didn’t allow her to wash the dishes. Instead, he told her to go upstairs and finished her homeworks while he’s doing all the dishes. Wow, Eunji was extremely touched of course.

“Don’t worry. Go to your room and finish your homeworks. I’ll come by later.” Eunji nodded, but for a while she stood still there watching Sunggyu’s back from behind. Without her realize, her legs made their steps towards him and her arms were wrapped around his waist. Sunggyu was shocked of course, and his heart was beating fast like a bullet train. His heart was fluttering so badly and he stopped for a while doing the dishes. He swore that he could feel Eunji’s heartbeat through his back. It’s freaking fast—as fast as his. It becomes silent. Only the sound of water flowing from the pipe could be heard. Sunggyu didn’t know how to react, he was completely frozen in his place.

Eunji in the other hand finally realized what she’ve done. But there’s no turning back anymore. Slowly, she tiptoed her feet up so that she could reach the level of Sunggyu’s ears.

“Thank you,” She whispered, sending chills to Sunggyu’s spine. She sounded so sincere and grateful. The two simple words that made him to be drowned in his own happiness for a moment.Sunggyu couldn’t help but drew a smile on his lips.

“You’re welcome.” Sunggyu replied calmly. After for a moment, Eunji finally released her arms around his waist and stepped away. The realization came up too late that she felt embarrassed. She quickly bolted upstairs, leaving Sunggyu to finish the dishes. Like seriously, she didn’t even know why she did that — she could just simply thanked him without even giving him a hug.

“Crap.” She muttered under her breathe as she closed her bedroom’s door. Her back was leaned against it and she was breathing heavily. She couldn’t understand her current feeling right now. Is this how love could affect people? Wait — did she really loves him? That’s the real question.

Eunji banged her head against the door, probably trying to find an answer. Yet she failed. Gosh, like seriously it was driving her crazy. It’s just a week since they’ve been married. She couldn’t just feel like that to him. It’s not that she’s doubting but she’s still too young. What if they — okay, that marriage stuffs (she doesn’t want to think about that for now).

“Okay. Don’t think about about it anymore.” She said to herself, making her way to her study table. Man, she got tons of Maths homeworks to be submitted tomorrow — and she still couldn’t think right for now. Crap, she didn’t want to mess up with the calculations like seriously.

“God, please help me to overcome this.” She prayed for herself. Like seriously, she could never thought that it would be difficult like this. Feelings is not a thing to be joked. She wants to admit it but her pride won’t let her to. Gosh, it’s so suffocating.

“Come on, Jung Eunji. Just focus, alright.” She tried to calm herself again before facing up her Maths workbook. She got started but then she gave up. She couldn’t do Maths. Not in this state when her mind was full of Sunggyu — oh crap, Mr. Lee would kill her tomorrow if she didn’t finish those Maths calculations. God, please help her.

Not long after that, the sound of door creaking entered her ears. She didn’t turned back. She knew that it was Sunggyu. She could sniff his cologne acrossthe whole room. He smelt so sweet and fresh like mint. Her heart pit a pat as Sunggyu walked to her from the back. She could hear his breathing was nearing, and in the same time the pencil in her grip fell to the floor. Oh boy, what a bad timing.

And the sure next thing was the poor pencil rolled to Sunggyu’s feet. Ha, what a luck. She didn’t move an inch as she watched Sunggyu bowed down to pick up the pencil. For the first time in forever, she felt grateful because of the gravity force produced by the pencil. Phew, at least it stopped Sunggyu from coming for a second — which also gave her a chance to calm herself; Well just in case, she didn’t want to embarrass herself. Not in front of Sunggyu.

After all, she found that herself was blushing damn hard. Gosh, blame Sunggyu for that. The sudden eye contact between them when Sunggyu looked up to her somehow makes she felt fluttered. It’s weird right?

“Here,” He handed the yellow-wooden pencil to her. She took it without hesitation and mouthed her ‘thanks’ before facing up to her workbook again, hoping that she could stay focused. Thank goodness, she made it. It’s such a relief since Sunggyu didn’t do anything other than just sitting on her purple-coloured comfy bed and watched her from behind.

Sunggyu’s eyes wandered around the whole room. He got to admit that Eunji’s room looks better than him. The light-purple coloured walls in her room looks nice to his eyes. Ah, how he wish that he could sleep here for a night. But, no. That’s not going to happen. Not for now. Sunggyu already had a thought about that. After all both of their parents already told them to just live a normal life as a pair of couple. That’s sounds easy to be done, but they didn’t know how hard it was. He’s a human too, and how could he resist the human’s nature? Sighs, that’s what makes it turned complicated.

But Sunggyu already promised to himself. They’re still in the process to know each other. Too many things about each other to be learnt. Despite Eunji’s young age, Sunggyu put his trust on her. He knew that she could be a good wife in the future. Just look at her, she’s so mature in thinking. What a luck for him to have her as his wife. For thousandth time, he admitted that there’s no any single of regrets in his mind because of this marriage. Their marriage might only seen as a “cruel corporation world game” but it’s not impossible for them to find the pure love towards each other — and Sunggyu was trying hard. He wanted to be a nice man to her and a responsible husband. That’s what he promised to himself. A girl like Jung Eunji should be treated nicely — because she’s going to be one of his source of strengths.

“Buk!” Sound of head slamming to the table brought Sunggyu back to reality. He quickly turned to the study table only to find a sleeping Jung Eunji with her head on the table — no, it’s Kim Eunji. A smile crept on his lips as he tiptoed slowly towards the study table, probably didn’t want to awake her. His hand gently push away the strands of hair that’ve been covering her beautiful face — yes, she’s beautiful indeed. For once again, Sunggyu’s heart beated faster. He studied the girl’s face from the forehead and stopped at her lips. Gasps. He gulped his own saliva nervously as he recalled back the moment when they kissed during their wedding day. It’s his first kiss, so does her. He could still remember the softness of her lips, and the way how it awkwardly brushed against his. It’s such a major heart-fluttering moment that he ever had for the rest his life. It’s already a week since their first kiss but he could still clearly remembers it. It’s still fresh in his mind.

Sunggyu shook off his head, calling his mind off. He breathed in the air deeply before he turned to the sleepy figure again. Of course, he won’t let her to sleep in that such kind of state. She should have a proper way of sleep. Slowly, he caught her body in his arms and carried her in the bridal style. He swore that he almost couldn’t believe himself doing that — damn his heart kept beating fast. He walked slowly to the king-sized purple bed and put her gently. He couldn’t help but smile — gosh, she looks like an angel when she slept.

Sunggyu put on the blanket on her, making sure that she could sleep comfortably. And for a moment he took his time, studying her face again. Like seriously, it’s going to be his new hobby soon — looking at the beautiful creatures.

“Kim Eunji,” He muttered the name under his breath. Somehow it sounds beautiful to his ears. Eunji was his, not anyone else. Did he even deserve her? Both of them were trapped in their own fate — the arranged marriage yet they already promised to each other that they’re going to be well to each other. He didn’t knew why but for some reason he really had a thought about loving her. Just like the other husbands did. It’s not even wrong right for him to love her? Afterall, they’re married.

“That’s it.” He mumbled to himself softly. Sunggyu clasped his lips nervously as his hand reached for Eunji’s hand, he didn’t want to wake her up. Holding her hand to his chest, he promised to himself that he’s going to protect Eunji and love her — just like he needs to. It’s okay for him if she didn’t love her back, it doesn’t really matter. The marriage ruined her days as a teenager and he didn’t want her to feel bad about the marriage. He’ll take care of her, as long as they’re husband and wife. That’s his promise to himself.

“I promise that I’ll love you everyday, Ji.”

He whispered. Too bad that Eunji couldn’t hear it. Nah, it’s okay. It’ve been less suffocating to him after he said his promise. She might didn’t knew it but he’ll always keep that in his mind. Before leaving, he left a long peck on her forehead — he couldn’t help but to think about how Eunji would react if he did this when she’s not sleeping. He wants to know her feelings towards him.

“Maybe next time. I wish that we could be more honest about each other’s feelings.” He said, looking at her. His smile never leave his lips. He found that it’s quite hard from him to leave her room; How he wish that they could stay in the same room. But then, maybe next time. They still needed time to get suited with each other.Yeah, time is what they needed the most now. How he wished that he could spend more time with her instead of facing up his works. Well, they should have a proper honeymoon next time. Let’s hope for that to happen next time.
