Prompt: AU in which Sunggyu travels through different parallel worlds to see what lives would the others have instead of being dumb inpiniteu.
Kim Sunggyu tried his best to open his eyes but it’s seemed that they were shut very tight. It felt so heavy that it took him some effort to open just a single eye. He could hear voices, unclear, but they were talking about him. He knew those voices. They were very familiar to his ears – the voices that he usually heard in the dorm. Aside from voices, he could hear a beeping sound – so monotonous that it starting to tick him off.
He tried to focus on opening his eyes and moving his body, when a numbing but painful and tingly sensation shot up from his right leg to his spine. He could not help to groan. He whimpered as he bit his lips to overcome the pain. He’s clueless… he didn’t know what happen to him to experience this kind of pain.
He tried to focus on the familiar voices that he heard from the distance.
“I swear… I didn’t do anything, hyung.”
It was the first voice that he could distinguish. Is he whining? The voice belonged to a man, he knew it, but it sounded like an elementary schooler whose toy has been destroyed by some bully. A choding?
“Then tell me?” Another voice but the feel was different from the voice before. It sounded so mature but tired.
“What, hyung?” Again the whiny voice.
“Tell me… why did you end up in this hospital with an unknown man who was injured and until now is not showing any sign of waking up?” The more mature voice chided.
“I told you… I didn’t do it. And hyung, you’re the doctor here, you should know why that man is not waking up.” The first voice continued to whine.
“You owe me big time, Lee Sungyeol.”
“I love you too, Howonnie-hyung.”
Sungyeol? Hoya? What the hell is happening? If this is another prank of s, all of them will be dead meat.
Sunggyu tried to move again but the simple effort caused his heart to race. The heart monitor started to produce a different set of beeps from before startling the other two occupant of the room. He could hear the footsteps rushing towards him.
“Sir, sir?” He could feel someone touching him, shaking him.
"Sungyeol call a nurse,” Commanded the voice that he distinguished as Howon. He wanted to say something but there was something blocking his throat – something that was obstructing his airway. He panicked. He tried to open his eyes again and he was lucky enough that he was able to open his eyes this time.
The first thing he saw was white.
Was he in heaven?
Did they have an accident?
A barrage of questions entered his mind. Slowly the white began to morph to something more concrete. He looked around; checking his surroundings but it was blocked by people wearing white.
Angels?
No... nurses.
He was prodded and poked before he heard from someone that the breathing tube that was inserted in his throat could be removed since he is breathing on his own. His throat was parched and scratchy. He wanted water very badly. A straw was then offered to him, directing him to drink slowly.
“Hoya?” His voice was raspy like it was not use for how many weeks. But why? He could remember himself shouting to s yesterday. The man whom he addresses as Hoya was taken aback. He could see the shocked in the man’s face.
“Excuse me Sir, do I know you?” The man asked him. Sunggyu was confused; of course he would know him. He is Kim Sunggyu, the leader of INFINITE and they are members of INFINITE.
Sunggyu wanted to shout at them but he couldn't find the strength to do so. He knew Hoya and Sungyeol were good actors but they were taking their acting to a whole new level.
"Ya, Lee Howon, this is not funny anymore!"
"Howon-hyung, do you know that man?" He could hear Sungyeol whispering to Howon as he pulled him to the corner of the room.
"You idiot," Sunggyu flinched as he saw Hoya smacking the head of the taller man. "You're the one that brought him here and your asking me if I know him."
"But hyung, he knows your nickname."
"I know, Sungyeol-ah, and I swear this is the first time that I encountered that man."
"Ya, Lee Howon, Lee Sungyeol, don't act like that I am not here in this room. I can clearly hear the two of you." Sunggyu started shouting, not wanting to be left out in the conversation of the two.
"Sir, please calm down."
"How can I calm down when the two of you are acting like this. Stop calling me "sir", you always call me Sunggyu-hyung."
"Then can I call you "Hamster-hyung"? Sungyeol piped in.
"Shut up Lee Sungyeol." If only he could reach Sungyeol without experiencing any pain, he would surely strangle that choding.
"Ya, stop with this act. It's not funny anymore." Sunggyu began to feel anxious. What was wrong these two? They were acting as if they didn't know him.
"Sir, I'm very sorry but we don't know you. I don't know any Sunggyu-hyung. It is quite a shock that you knew the two of us but this is the first that we met." Hoya stated calmly.
"Of course, I know the two of you. I'm your leader. You're Hoya, the main dancer of INFINITE." Sunggyu said as he pointed to Hoya. "Then you are Lee Sungyeol, our resident choding." He continued as he pointed to the other man.
"Hyung, you said that he suffered from a concussion, maybe that answers why he is acting like a hamster on a high." Sungyeol murmured as he elbowed Hoya on his side. Sunggyu glared at him in response.
"Maybe you mistaken us with different people, sir. I'm Lee Howon, I'm a resident doctor here, and only my family and friends call me Hoya. That choding on the other hand is Lee Sungyeol, he's the one that brought you here after he found you in front of his coffee shop unconscious."
Sunggyu was confused. He didn't know what was happening anymore. Hoya... a doctor? And Sungyeol owns a coffee shop. Was this some kind of a hidden camera for him?
"If this is a hidden camera, the two of you will surely die after this!" Hoya and Sungyeol just looked at him like he has developed a second head. He started glaring at the two with his small eyes causing the latter to hid behind the doctor. Deciding that the two would not give in, he tried to call the names of the rest of the members.
"Jang Dongwoo... Nam Woohyun... Kim Myungsoo... Lee Sungjong... show yourself before I castrate the 6 of you!" Sunggyu began to shout again as he started removing the IV attached to his arm. "Ya, show yourself now or else you won't like what will happen to the 6 of you later."
"Sir, calm down." Hoya whispered to Sunggyu as he restrained him down. Sungyeol not knowing what to do, pressed the red button connecting to nurses' station.
"Don't tell me to calm down, I don't like this joke anymore."
"Dr. Lee, is something wrong?" A nurse suddenly barged inside the room but she cowered when she saw the glare Sunggyu was giving her.
"Great, just great. You even have a nurse accomplice."
"Nurse, sedate him."
"Yes, Dr."
The last thing Sunggyu felt was the prickling pain on his arm and he was swimming in a sea of darkness again.

He was walking and all he can see were endless sea of mirrors.
Mirrors that were depicting different pictures of INFINITE from the moment that they were toddling kids up to the current time.
What confused him was the mirrors are showing INFINITE members with different careers and professions. Then he saw it, the mirror wherein Hoya was a doctor and Sungyeol was a shop-owner. He tried to look closely at it. He could see the two talking in a hospital room, Hoya was reading a book, some medical book and he was still wearing a doctor's gown and Sungyeol was drinking a cup of coffee. And there he was, sleeping on the hospital bed with a nurse checking his vital signs. It was exactly the same as what happened earlier. He tried to reach out, to touch the mirror but it was like touching some surface of water. The surface rippled as if he was touching some kind of portal. He suddenly withdrew his hands, feeling electrocuted.
He tried to roam around the place, trying to find an answer for what happened earlier.
He could now recall the interview that happened earlier. Like he was asked about what would the members be if they weren't a part of INFINITE. Was he, in some weird sense, transported in a parallel world and these mirrors serves as the portal in each world? But how did he enter this kind of world?
He wanted to return to his own world badly, not to be trapped in any parallel world wherein he could recognize s but they couldn't recognize him.
But curiosity always killed the cat, isn't it? As he was walking around the sea of mirrors, something piqued his attention. It was Jang Dongwoo and Kim Myungsoo in the same mirror. He held his breath as he prepared for the electrifying sensation as he entered the portal.

There he was, surrounded by a sea of people. This was a usual scene in Seoul, where everything is fast-paced, like everything is happening in a fast-forward motion. Sunggyu tried to gathered his composure as he blend with the crowd. Luckily this time, he was not injured unlike the first parallel world that he was dumped in.
He adjusted the scarf that he's wearing. He didn't have any idea of what he is in this world and it would be better to hide his identity first before someone could recognize him.
As he remembered what happened in the first world, he couldn't help but to flinch because of embarrassed. Sungyeol was right, he was acting like a hamster on high. He was not the Kim Sunggyu from that world so it might be that they haven't crossed their paths yet.
But the thing is, he could not imagine Hoya as a doctor but surely, he could imagine the choding to own a coffee shop. That was too predictable. He always thought that if Hoya wasn't be an artist he could be professor or a businessman. But then, his role from Reply 1997 really fitted him.
His musings were halted when somebody hugged him from behind.
"Myungsoo-ah, I found him! I really found him!" Said the man laughing like there's no tomorrow. Without a doubt this person was the only living survivor of the dinosaurs.
"Hyung, stop it. Don't hug any random stranger in the street. You can be accused of being a ert." It was Myungsoo, not L. He was smiling- more like grinning to himself and looking gorgeous as always.
"Sorry about that, Mister." Myungsoo said with a bow. "Actually we are lacking some people in the photoshoot that we are having and Dino- no, I mean Dongwoo-hyung thought that you could fit our current concept."
"It's Sunggyu, Kim Sunggyu." Sunggyu murmured with clenched teeth but he tried his best to smile.
"So, Gyujiji, would you be our model?" Gyujiji, with this Sunggyu couldn't help but to smile. He thought that Dongwoo would always remain as the Dongwoo that he knew in spite of being thrown into different worlds.
"Hyung, mind your manners!" Myungsoo reprimanded the older. "I'm Kim Myungsoo, by the way. I'm a photographer. And that dinosaur there is Jang Dongwoo, he is a fashion designer."
Sunggyu cringed at this, Jang Dongwoo as a fashion designer? In the world that he knew, Dongwoo's fashion sense was always one of a kind. It was always bursting in colors and sometimes, he thought that the fashion sense of the younger is outrageous and eye-catching. It would be better if Dongwoo would remain as a rapper or a dancer or maybe a choreographer, but a fashion designer? No way. In that moment, he really wished that another portal will automatically open to transport him in a different world.
"Sunggyu-shii?"
"Gyujiji?"
Sunggyu remained speechless. He wanted to help them badly but as he thinks of wearing Dongwoo's clothes, he could not really picture himself.
"Hyung, I told you that this is a bad idea."
"But, Myung, his looks... it would really suit my latest collection."
"Look, hyung, we can't just pick some random person on the road because he suits your collection. What if this person doesn't know how to pose? You're bringing my career in the line."
"But, Myung... I really want him to be my model. He looks like a hamster and he would really fit my animal-pattern collection. And you're a brilliant photographer, all pictures that you take are very good."
Sunggyu felt offended with what Myungsoo said. Of course, he can be a good model. He isn't the leader of INFINITE for nothing. Not wanting to be looked down on by their visual, he accepted the offer despite dreading the animal-pattern clothes that he might be wearing in a little while.
"Okay, I will do it."
"Thank you, Gyujiji. I will call the staff that we had found another model." Dongwoo beamed happily while making silly gestures with his hands.
"More like picked up..."
He was suddenly pulled by Dongwoo to the photoshoot venue. The staffs were busy preparing the set. They were running here and there, setting up the cameras and lightings and other props.
"Myung." Sunggyu tried to get the attention of the photographer who was directing some of the staffs. Dongwoo was currently missing so he felt leftout.
"Gyujiji..." It was Dongwoo, who appeared out of nowhere.
"Gyujiji, she will be your partner for the shoot." With that said, a girl appeared from a tent wearing sporting a leopard-printed dress.
"HyunA-shii, we're here." Dongwoo shouted as he waved to the girl. The girl walked towards them smiling.
"Oppa, where did you go? Have you find me a partner?"
"Of course, HyunA-shii. Meet your partner for today. Gyujiji... I mean, Kim Sunggyu. Gyujiji, she will be your partner, Kim HyunA."
Sunggyu was dumbfounded. Kim HyunA will be her partner in this photoshoot. It was like a dream come true. Maybe, it wouldn't be bad after all.
"Please take care of me." Sunggyu bowed, realizing that in this world HyunA might be a professional model.
But even before he could raise his head, he felt a throbbing head as if he was hit by a soccer ball rendering him unconscious.

The next thing he knew, he was back to the world of mirrors.
He was staring in the mirror that we had just entered earlier. Dongwoo was panicking as people tried to wake the "him" in that world. A soccer ball was rolling beside him. So he was really hit by a ball and here he was thinking that it will be his lucky day.
He looked around the mirrors again, trying to look for his real world. He has enough of these parallel worlds and he badly wanted to return to the world that he knew.
There, he found a mirror with Woohyun and Sungjong on it. The two were sporting their recent hairstyles so Sunggyu thought that it may be his real world. Without hesitation, he entered the mirror.

As he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was Nam Woohyun trying to kiss Lee Sungjong. Their faces were so near to each other that with just a little push the two of them would be kissing already.
Nam Woohyun was his and so was Lee Sungjong, so they should not be kissing each other. Nam Woohyun should not be taking advantage of their maknae when he is not around.
He felt his blood boiling as he looked to the two. He badly want to separate them that's why the next thing he felt was a painful sensation on his hands and Nam Woohyun was sprawled on the ground as he massaged his cheeks. Sungjong was looking at him with scared eyes and before he could pull the maknae into a comforting hug, a loud "CUT" reverberated around the area.
"," he murmured to himself as he was restrained by two men who appeared out of nowhere. Woohyun was whispering something to Sungjong as he guided him to a nearby tent. He soon entered the same tent still escorted by the men that restrained him earlier.
"Kim Sunggyu, what is wrong with you?" Yelled someone. It turned out to be a director and after receiving a verbal beating from the man he found out that he entered a different world again. In this world, Woohyun is a solo artist while Sungjong was some model turned actor. It turned out that they were currently shooting some mobile drama.
"Gyu-hyung, I thought you're in Japan?" Woohyun asked him after he has calmed himself down.
"Japan?" He was confused. Was he supposed to be in Japan? And how come Woohyun knew him in this world?
"Hyunnie-hyung?" Sungjong appeared from the tent and tried his best to avoid Sunggyu as he went to the other man.
"It's not going to bruise, right?"
"It's okay, Jong. How about you? I'm sure this man gave you a scare."
Sungjong just pouted in response.
"By the way, thanks for this, Hyung. But I love you so much that I could not bear to hate you even if you damage my perfect face." Woohyun pointed at the now forming bruise on his cheeks.
Sunggyu gave him a glare then looked at Sungjong.
"Sungjong, right?" Sunggyu asked Sungjong acting as if he didn't know the younger. Sungjong nodded. "I'm sorry. I thought Woohyu was doing something nasty to you."
"It's okay Sunggyu-shii.You didn't know afterall. Director-nim told me that you happened to be in Japan when we started this project."
"It's Sunggyu-hyung." Sunggyu feeling a little awkward by being called with so much formality told Sungjong.
"Gyu-hyung, Jongie and I will be going to some amusement park, wanna tag along?" Inquired Woohyun who was now carrying his backpack on his shoulders and holding Sungjong's bag on his right hand.
"Amusement park?"
"Yep, hyung. We didn't have any schedules left and Jongie wants to meet Yoojungie at the amusement park."
Sungjong blushed.
"Yoojungie? As in Kim Yoojung? The child actress?" Sungjong blushed more with Sunggyu's statement.
"Yep, hyung. Have you forgotten about the famous "lemon-candy couple"? They are very famous nowadays."
"Maybe I am getting old."
"Yeah, right hyung... you are so right."
The ride to the amusement park was quiet. He learned a few things about "him" in this world. The "him" here was also a solo artist. Woohyun and him were from a different entertainment but they were very close because they usually do varieties together. Sungjong, on the other hand, started as model and debuted in the acting world by portraying the role of a murderer in some famous suspense-thriller movie. Woohyun has taken a liking towards the younger which explain the closeness of the two. However, the "him" in this world was yet to meet Sungjong.
Sunngyu couldn't help but to smile when he learned that he is a singer in this world together with Woohyun. But to think that their maknae is seeing Yoojung, maybe it would take some time for that fact to sink in.
Arriving at the amusement park, Sunggyu and Woohyun began to sauntered by themselves since Sungjong wanted to wait for Yoojung at the entrance of the amusement park.
For Sunggyu, it was like a date. Like Dongwoo, Woohyun would be Woohyun, always romantic and greasy and cheesy.
After enjoying some rides and eating some food together, not to forget the picture that they took together, the two of them stumbled in a mirror house and like deja vu he recalled something like Woohyun or Sungjong dragging him in a mirror house and ending up lost in the middle of it.
Maybe that was the reason why he ended up in a parallel world.
The two of them entered the house and as they near the heart of the building, Sunggyu was suddenly assaulted by a piercing pain in his head and the last thing he heard was Woohyun calling his name before he totally lost consciousness.

The room smelled like disinfectants and antiseptics.
Did he land himself in a hospital again?
He groaned as he opened. He could here someone sniffling.
"Sunggyu-hyung, you're awake. I was so scared."
"Woo?"
"Yes hyung?"
"What happened?"
"You fainted hyung, Sungjongie and I dragged you in the House of Mirrors but we got lost. The building costudian found you unconcious."
"Where's Jongie?"
"He went outside to make a call, hyung. He kept on crying thinking it was his fault that you end up in the hospital."
An uncomfortable silence surrounded the two.
"Hyung, I'll call the nurse since you're already awake." And with that Woohyun exited the room.
Several minutes after, Sungjong barged inside the room with tears evident in his eyes. The rest of INFINITE followed.
"Hyung, I was so scared." Sungjong said as he hugged the leader and burrowed his face on the older man's chest. "I thought I would not see hyung again since you were lost in that mirror house and it would be my fault." Their maknae murmured in one breath as he gave him his infamous puppy eyes. "Do you forgive me, hyung"?
Sunggyu could not help but to immediately forgive what happened earlier. Despite the fact that him fainting inside a mirror house won't be good for his reputation but he learned a lot of things when he travelled within those parallel worlds.
Looking at s, he could not prevent grinning as he remembered their other personas in the parallel worlds. They might not know each other in those worlds but the red strings of fate are always binding them till infinity.
He motioned for the rest to come near to him and opened his arms as if inviting them for a hug. Dongwoo, Woohyun and Sungjong jumped into his arms to give him hug while the others looked at him weirdly but soon give in when he looked at them again. After all, it was a rare moment for Sunggyu to offer them a hug.
"Group hug!" Sungyeol shouted as he hugged the members within his reach again.
"Sunggyu-hyung!"
"Gyu-jiji!"
"Gyu-hyung!"
"Loser Gyu!"
Sunggyu choked with the last remark while the rest snickered.
Whatever name s might call him or whatever world might he be in. These six people will always be in his heart. They will always be tied to each other.
Kim Sunggyu...
Jang Dongwoo...
Nam Woohyun...
Lee Howon...
Lee Sungyeol...
Kim Myungsoo...
Lee Sungjong...
Parallel world or not, they are INFINITE.
Because to him, INFINITE is his heart and home always.
A/N: This might be different from what you are expecting but honestly, I had a hard time to write this one. It felt so out of my league but still I did my best to finish this one. This is a great challenge to me...^^
