So many questions ...

It’s MY baby

Sungmin was taken out of her thoughts when her alarm clock could be heard. She turned it off and marched toward the bathroom, to do her morning routine of washing.

When she was dressed up she went to the kitchen to make herself some breakfast.

Some people start their day with a cup of hot coffee to give them energy, Sungmin started her day with a big breakfast, without breakfast she’s sleepy and moody the whole day. And since her pregnancy, the breakfast was extra big.

She opened her fridge and just a look at its insides made her sad and grumpy, it was practically empty.

You see, Sungmin was a good student, she could do math, she was quick to learn foreign languages, she was great at sports, she even played piano and won an award when she was in preschool, but when it came to house chores, like cleaning and cooking she was as clumsy as as an elephant in a ballet class. But it wasn’t so bad with cleaning; her cooking is what you should fear off.

Once Ryeowook, who is a cooking goddess, really, she can make anything taste good, tried to teach Sungmin some basic things, that you need to know when cooking, she turned away for just a second, to get the salt from the cabinet, when Sungmin almost burned down half the kitchen.

Ever since then Sungmin was not allowed in the kitchen. That is why now, that she was living on her own  Ryeowook usually came in the morning and they would have their breakfast together, but for the past month, Ryeowook didn’t came, and Sungmin didn’t have much of a choice on what to eat, either she ate fruits or milk and serials for breakfast.

But now, there were no milk in her fridge, nor any fruits on the table.

She realized, how spoiled she really was, Ryeowook did so much for her and she couldn’t even treasure all that.

She clenched the locket in her fist. “I’m sorry for not treating you well” She murmured and took a box of serials, almost empty, and poured them in a bowl. “I guess I’ll just have to be satisfied with this for today”

She didn’t ate much, two spoons and she gave up, without milk it tasted horrible.

She tried to quickly lock her front door and leave, without meeting her naggy neighbor, but she wasn’t lucky this time. The old lady, she wasn’t actually that old, around 40 perhaps, but the bags underneath her eyes and her tired face, she had 4 crazy kids and a lazy husband to take care off, made her look older. Today she was glaring extra mean at her, but she never said a word, not even a hello. But it still made Sungmin feel uncomfortable. She slight bowed and quickly passed by her.

She rubbed her tummy a little; her daughter will be a good girl, right?

“Do you think there is something going on between Sungmin and Kangin” Yoona asked Taecyeon.

They were in the back room getting ready for their shift.

“A? What do you mean?” Taecyeon asked lazily and stretched his arms. “Are you going to say you didn’t notice how Kangin stares at Sungmin?” Taecyeon gave her a bored look. “I don’t care”

He paused a little to think “is none of mine business, but now that you mention it, he does glare at me every time I bring Sungmin tea or even if I just make some small chat with her” he scoffed. “I noticed that too” Yoona laughed a little.

But they didn’t talked more about the matter, Taecyeon wasn’t as chatty as Yesung and since he didn’t looked interested in the topic Yoona asked him about his night, because it didn’t looked like he slept a lot, it turned out he was partying till 4am.

But there was someone who was interested in that topic; Sungmin was standing on the other side of the door. She didn’t mean to eardrop on their conversation, but the doors weren’t fully closed and when she wanted to enter she heard her name being mention and she stopped and listed.

Kangin likes her?

“Sungmin are you feeling ok?”

“Ah, y-yes” Sungmin smiled awkwardly at Kangin.

Since morning, she’s been secretly watching Kangin.

She didn’t notice this before, but he was pretty handsome; quite tall, nice build and a charming smile. He was so nice to the costumers, even with the ones that weren’t so nice back. She also noticed that he would turn her way every once in a while and smile or wink at her, or point out something funny, that she would laughed at, he also asked her about a hundred times if she needs anything. It looked like he really does feel something towards her, but is it just very close friendship or something more?

“I’m f-fine, I’m just a little hungry” Sungmin averted her eyes.

After her conclusion; that Kangin might like her as in like, like her, she find it hard to look him in the eyes, she didn’t want to wake fake hopes in him, he was a nice guy and all, but she wasn’t looking for a relationship.

“Do you want me to bring you something?”

“Aaaa, no, I’m meeting Ryeowook for lunch”

“You guys made up?”

“Not really, but I hope she’ll still show up, I have so much to say to her”

“Oh, it will be ok, you’ll see” Kangin smiled at her before he went and served another group of girls that came in.

Sungmin was sitting in the restaurant not so far from her shop, surrounded by different kinds of food, she couldn’t wait for Ryeowook anymore, her sister was 10min late which seem like 10 hours to hungry Sungmin.

After another 5min Ryeowook sat down on a chair in front of her, she was clearly in a bad mood.

“Hei” Sungmin said unsurely with full.
“It’s rude to talk with full mouth” Ryeowook pointed out and stared at Sungmin, who slowly chewed on her food. Then her eyes trailed down to see what was on the table. She looked back up and widened her eyes.

“Look Ryeowook I’m sorry I’m such a klutz when it comes to simple things like …” She would continue her sentence if all the air haven’t left her lugs when Ryeowook hugged her so thigh.
“I can’t breathe” She whispered and Ryeowook let go, Sungmin looked at her, her sister eyes were teary.

“Hey, hey what’s wrong?” She asked worryingly and hugged her sister again.

“I’m sorry, I acted like a child, I thought you lost it, like you did a million times before and I was just so mad that it wasn’t so important to you as it is to me.” Ryeowook held Sungmin locked between her fingers.
“I’m sorry about that” Sungmin said quietly, but it didn’t seem like Ryeowook heard her.

“But you only got it repaired” She chuckled and wiped her eyes with the back of her hand. Sungmin looked at her puzzled, repaired?

“Yah! You are not going to fool me with that face; you think I wouldn’t notice that you changed the chain?” Ryeowook sat down again. Sungmin quickly composed herself.

“You got me” She smiled nervously.

“You know how it constantly unpinned on itself” She added and gulped down some water, felt dry.

It was dark already when Sungmin was returning home. Her shoulders felt stiff from carrying all these heavy books.

After her meeting with Ryeowook, that went really well, they were chatting for about 3 hours, Sungmin told her about Kangin, she need an advice on what should she do next, they came to a conclusion that it’s better that she tells him how she really feels before things get out of hand.

After she parted with Ryeowook she was supposed to go to her yoga class, but just the thought of meeting Kyuhyun’s crazy sister made her cringe, she didn’t wanted to go back to the coffee shop either.

She sat down on a bench in a children’s park and watch the kids play, there were a lot of question running through her mind.

One of them was also the thing about her necklace, what did Kyuhyun do with it? More like, why? Why did he save it in the first place and more, got it repaid. Why? Her head was hurting from all the thinking and worries, she decided to go home, but on her way she stopped in the library where she borrowed a bunch of pregnancy books.

She unlocked her apartment and set the books on the mini table in the living room, she than sat down on her cozy lime couch. She was really tired.

Sungmin wasn’t sure when she fell asleep, but when she opened her eyes everything was dark and she was lying on the couch with cover with a blanket.

She rose up, still half asleep and dragged her feet to her bed room. The couch was cozy but her bed was even better. She discharged her clothes on her way; she left on only her and undershirt and climbed into her warm and cozy bed.
