Chapter 12

My Life Style

Junjin had definitely made the right choice when he asked Andy to help him on his job.

Having Andy on look out was just like the old days when Dongwan and him still worked together. Andy was actually even better than Dongwan had ever been. He always managed to disappear in the crowd, to blend in, he was almost invisible, and impossible to find unless he wanted you to see him.

They were a great team, and Andy had started to open up around him. He would come to him after dinner, ask him to watch a movie, or just simply talk. He was genuinely trying to learn how to be friendly, and it had been a long time since he had tried anything but hugging, which he in turn had gotten addicted to.

Junjin figured the other was so used to human contact that just sitting next to each other and talking wouldn't be enough. He couldn't watch a movie without having to cuddle up to him, and he would often attack him with a hug when he was doing the dishes, or paper work.

It wasn't bad though, it was no where near what he did before, and Junjin knew he was doing it to show him his friendly affection, not to get in his pants.

Not everything was good though. Money was starting to become a problem. Since non of them knew what Eric would do if he found Andy, they couldn't let him work as an official drug dealer. So even with his help, they only had Junjin's salary to live off of.

But Andy couldn't know, if he knew Junjin was having financial issues he might blame himself and leave him, and that couldn't happen.

He might've only taken Andy in because he was a weak soul who needed salvation, but now, he was staying because he was a close friend Junjin had grown extremely fond of.

It was a day like any other. Junjin had sent Andy of to stand guard a couple of blocks away, and he himself was standing at his usual spot, waiting for his first costumers to come by.

It was a little past ten, and usually Sally would've stopped by already. She was never late unless she had found a new, poor, easily manipulated soul to taint.

He knew he should be happy to have new costumers, it meant more money, and he needed that right now. But he couldn't help but feel bad for the new one, someone who was without hope, with no will to fight.

His premonitions were right. As soon as he saw Sally stepping out of the alley she called home, he noticed the new costumer.

It was a man, he looked fairly young, and no where near as battered and used as many of the others, this one looked like he had lived a fairly decent life until recently.

The man looked tiny though, not just that he wasn't especially tall, but he looked like he was making himself seem even smaller, like he was hiding, trying not to be seen.

He couldn't make out his face, so he couldn't be certain of his age or mind, but from what he had gathered already, he didn't seem like a lost cause. This man might be possible to save, he might be able to help him, like he helped Andy.

Junjin began to fidget with his pockets, he knew Sally was here for her fix, and if he could make her leave, he could have the man alone, maybe talk some sense into him.

He finally found what he was searching his pockets for, and just in time. When he looked up again the two of them were already right in front of him.

He had been trying to think up a clever speech of sorts for the man, but all was forgotten when he saw the man up close.

The man wasn't looking directly at him, he was looking more at his feet and the wall next to him, eyes never really focusing, pupils constantly moving. The man was clearly nervous, but even without looking him in the eyes, Junjin couldn't help but recognize him.

It was the man he had caught Dongwan with. The man who he had presumed to be his boyfriend. But why was he here? Why was he suddenly like this?

He might've not known the guy, but he had seen enough homeless people to know that that guy wasn't from this world, he wasn't a part of it before Junjin had turned Dongwan in.

The pain came immediately. The horrible hammering sense of guilt. He had made him this way, this was all his fault.

He had never considered the boyfriend of the man he wanted caught, he had never considered the innocent man who had been caught along with the one he wanted gone.

But what had happened to the man? Why was he so broken, so, scared?

Surely he wasn't a part of the gang, so he wouldn't have been punished by them, would he? Then again, you never knew what they might be capable of.

But what if this wasn't due to the gang? What if this was all Dongwan?

He couldn't help but wonder; If he could leave Junjin all alone, what prevented him from leaving his boyfriend? He was coldhearted, didn't care about anything but his own success, that's why he left Junjin, and probably why he had left the man as well. What had happened to the man afterwards, that was a mystery.

So maybe Dongwan was to blame for this, but it was still, very much, Junjin who sat the whole thing in motion, so one thing was for certain; He couldn't try to save the man, he had to save him.

But it wasn't just down to whether or not Junjin wanted to help the man, since the man also had to agree to the help. Junjin would have to gain the mans trust, and that would be a much harder task than it had been with Andy.

This man was obviously scared, and there was no way Junjin could just straight out ask him to come with him to his apartment, the man would be scared out of his wits, and probably run away, to never meet Junjin again. He had to be careful in his approach, and he had to get Sally away from him first, he couldn't risk the guy starting on drugs.

"Hey Jin, I found this guy hanging out on the streets all alone, and I figured you might be able to help him out?" the man looked at her and then at him. It was the first time Junjin looked the man in the eyes, and he looked truly sad. He didn't look afraid at all, he looked pleading, like he was begging Junjin for something, help maybe? Building trust might not be as hard as he had initially thought.

"Sure thing Sally, let's just fix you up and I'll take a chat with him alone" the man's eyes widened and he snapped his neck towards Sally as he heard the "alone".

"Don't worry, Jin's a good guy, he won't do you wrong, you can trust him, probably the most honorable guy you'll find on the street" Sally tried to convince the guy, and it seemed to help as he slowly turned to look at Junjin again.

After the trade with Sally she nodded goodbye and made her way towards her alley again, the man began to fidget with his pockets, trying to get some money ready, but Junjin grabbed his arm and the man froze, eyes staring at him in shock.

"Don't bother, I'm not selling you anything, even if you have the money" he let go of the man's arm since he obviously felt uncomfortable under his touch.

"Listen, I do want to help you, you don't know me, but I know who you are, or, at least I know you had relations to a man named Kim Dongwan" The man instantly focused on Junjin at the mention of Dongwan's name, he looked like he was contemplating whether to run or punch him.

"I know he left you, I don't need to know more than that to tell that we're in the same boat, and I want to help you. See, I once loved him, he never knew of my feelings for him, but he and I were still best friends but that didn't stop him from leaving me. I know you feel like your life has no purpose now, I felt the same, but you can move on, believe me, I will help you" He hadn't thought that confession trough, he had been caught in the moment, just wanted the man to trust him, to come with him, and in his hurry he had told him everything. He had never told anyone how he once felt about Dongwan, he didn't even think Dongwan knew about it, no one knew about it, but now this stranger did.

But maybe letting it out wasn't such a bad idea, the man in front of him started to calm down, it was as if he trusted Junjin because of their similar experiences, even though the man obviously had had it way worse than Junjin had, the man had been in an actual relationship with Dongwan, Junjin had only spend his nights fantasizing about it.

"Ok, listen. I have a friend a few blocks away, he can help you get to my apartment. I understand if you feel uncomfortable by that, but I swear he's a good guy as well, he won't do anything to you, I promise" the man started to fidget in his place again, clearly uncomfortable by the idea of going with a stranger. But wasn't Junjin a stranger to him as well? Why wasn't he uncomfortable when he offered to help him?

"Can I...Can't I stay with you?" The man said, no, whispered. He sounded weak, embarrassed even, and Junjin couldn't reject his request, he had to protect the man, he was his responsibility, and Andy would be able to take care of himself, he knew how the job worked, he had watched Junjin do it many times, he could be trusted to take care of himself, he was strong, unlike the man.

"Sure, of cause, I'll take you to my apartment, is that better?" the man nodded, trying to force a slight smile onto his lips, but it ended up looking more like he was in pain.

"Andy, this is Minwoo, he's moving in with us, and I need to show him the way to our home, so I need you to work alone today, is that ok?" he asked when he finally found Andy.

He had been trying to strike a conversation with Minwoo, but one of the few things he got out of him was his name.

Andy looked confused when he heard Junjin's statement, his face twitched for a second when he had mentioned that Minwoo was moving in with them, but it was so quick that Junjin didn't know if it had been his imagination.

"And I was wondering if he could have your room? I mean, he has been on the street, and he is very shy, so I don't think he would be able to sleep on the couch" Junjin felt terrible for asking Andy to move to the couch, but he was tough, he would understand.

"Can't I sleep in your room then?" Andy asked with puppy like eyes.

"Then where am I going to sleep? We can take turns on the couch if you want" Junjin said with a smile. But Andy didn't smile, or nod.

"No, I meant. Can't I sleep in your room with you?" Andy moved closer as he said that, and grabbed Junjin's arm.

He couldn't have this conversation now, not with Minwoo there. Only two things could come out of this, either Minwoo thought Andy and him were an item, and that would mean he would feel like an intruder, and he would never open up. Or, he would find out what Andy was, and be afraid that Andy would attack him, and that would mean he would run away as well. He had to turn Andy down, even though Andy was becoming friendlier, he still wasn't comfortable with the thought of him in his bed, he might be able to control himself when they were in the living room cooking, but in the bedroom, next to each other, that was a totally different thing, and Junjin couldn't afford for Andy to have a relapse, he couldn't have him fall back into his bad habits, it was for his own sake.

"You know, you can just have the bedroom, I'll take the couch, how does that sound?" Junjin smiled even brighter and patted Andy on the shoulder, but to no avail. Andy just looked at him, face a mix of hurt and sad before he hurled himself at him, burring his face in Junjin's chest.

"No, no it's not okay. Can't everything just stay the same please?" his voice was weak, and muddy, was he crying?

Junjin felt bad for making Andy sad, but it was necessary, he had to take care of Minwoo, why couldn't Andy accept that? Why was it such a big problem that someone else moved in?

"Andy, just listen. Nothing will change other than what room you sleep in, if you really want to I can come and sleep with you from time to time, would that be ok?" Andy looked up. He had definitely been crying. He was nodding, but he wasn't smiling like he usually was, he looked sad, and even though he nodded like he was fine, anyone could tell he wasn't.

"Now, I really need you to take the rest of the day for me, can you do that? I promise you can sleep with me tonight if you do" he smiled, but he felt terrible for luring him with something that was bad for him, it was like when parents gave their kids candy for behaving, it felt like he was giving beer to an alcoholic.

Minwoo had stayed awfully quiet after they had left Andy, granted he didn't talk much before, but now he wasn't really looking at him either.

"Minwoo, you don't have to feel bad about what happened back there, nothing's your fault if that's what you're afraid of" he stopped and tried to give the shorter man the most sincere face he could muster.

Minwoo stopped as well and looked at him.

"You and Andy, are you, together?" he was very soft spoken again, afraid of messing up.

"No, no he's just a friend of mine, he's just very attached to me, don't worry, you aren't interfering in any relationships" he smiled, thinking he had to calm Minwoo down. If he knew they weren't an item it would be easier for him to open up. And apparently he was right, cause Minwoo immediately smiled as he looked at him.

"Good. I was just curious with the way he acted. So you're single?" he was actually smiling, not like he was in pain, not looking like he was one big excuse, but actually smiling, but Junjin couldn't help but feel uncomfortable with the tone that question had had.

AN: So, the first 1000 or so words I wrote at work on a piece of paper since we have 2 hours of break, but aren't allowed to use electronics :P Never again, it takes forever to write down on the computer afterwards :D And now, I finally explained Jin's obsession with Dongwan, and got Minwoo away from the streets :D I don't know about the ending, it was really hard to write, I kept changing my mind, but I hope you like it :D Thank you as always so much for commenting, subscribing and up voting :D Really, the comments help me so much, I hadn't even had the idea of Jin liking Wan before someone mentioned it in the comments :D And we're on 60 subscribers, how amazing is that? :D
