Weeks have passed ever since Chanyeol's birthday. You and the wolves grew ever closer. There wasn't not one minute you weren't with at least one of them, adding on the fact that three of them used every advantage of their's to try to steal a kiss from you. Sehun accompanied you to classes, Baekhyun and Chanyeol walked you from the main campus to the High Institution, Suho and D.O. helped you with the chores, and Kai was there to help you get to places, such as your appointments.
Yes, appointments. Your sister had sent her secretary to tell you that setting the appointments are now your responsibility, and that you should learn better to do these kinds of things or else you won't know when you grow up. Of course, she had a point. But you were hurt that she didn't tell you herself.
On the positive side of things, you had earned a good friend. Jungkook and you grew closer, and you started to respond to him with longer sentences with a warmer personality. He made you laugh a lot from his diva-ness and he was truly a warm-hearted person. But the bad feelings never went away, and they only increased whenever you and Jungkook came near his other friends. You had always escaped before you came within a ten-feet radius of them, still aware of Kai's words ringing in your mind to stay away from them.
On this particular day of school all the students were slowly getting more and more excited. Winter holidays were coming which also included a two-week long break, and this was the last day before winter vacation started. The Athletic Art's event will be taking place on Friday night, and gave the students time to prepare for their performances.
"I'm so glad this is going to be my last day of waking up early~" Chanyeol sighed in relief and stretched his arms. You raised an eyebrow and Kai rolled his eyes.
"We still have a whole term left, Yeol." You reminded. Yeol. Chanyeol had miraculously and casually brought up the term of 'nicknames' during dinner and you knew when he wanted you to call him Yeol that he had planned this from the beginning. In fact, everyone did.
They did tell you about their real names, though. Suho, who you never asked why his name was guardian, had a birth name and went by 'Joonmyeon'. The wolves laughed at it while you were amused at his flushed face, because the name was considered country-like and wasn't oftenly used in the 21st century. D.O.'s was Kyungsoo, and Kai's was Jongin. You wondered why they didn't use their real names and Sehun had whispered in your ear that their nicknames from their childhood just got stuck to them and didn't like other people saying their real names so casually, as if they were friends, which they weren't.
But with you, they practically begged to have you say their names. Even Suho, who was blinking at you with bright, innocent eyes. And when you locked gazes with a puppy-eyed D.O. and a pouting Kai, you had no choice but to humor them.
"Don't need to burst my bubble, party-pooper." Chanyeol whined, locking you in his arms and fake-strangling you. You laughed in his hold and Kai, with irritation evident in his eyes, pulled you into his strong embrace.
Kai wrinkled his nose at Chanyeol, "She's mine for today."
You rolled your eyes and swatted at his arms, which were wrapped around your waist. It was just the three of you right now, eating in the cafeteria, because Sehun got in trouble for skipping class to be with you during free period, so he had detention. You had scolded him for making you believe he had a free period too, which was definitely not true. D.O. was still in cooking class, baking cupcakes for his mid-term exam and Baekhyun and Suho were at the office, doing something that they never told you about.
"I'm no one's today." You said firmly, escaping Kai's hold but only to be pulled back once more into his chest.
"You make me sad," Kai said in fake-hurt. You sighed heavily and elbowed him in the stomach. He winced and immediately recoiled, internally groaning when his waist started to ache once more. Your eyes widened and you faced him.
"Did I hurt you?! Are you okay?!" You spluttered anxiously. Chanyeol patted your back and sat you back down on the table seat. You watched as Kai took deep breaths with his eyes closed for a minute, before he reopened his eyes and gave you a weak 'ok' sign.
You bit your lip as he stood up, as well as Chanyeol. You followed them out and dumped their trays, keeping an eye on Kai's limping figure and Chanyeol who supported him. Girl's crowded around them, squealing and fussing over th
