Nathan was about to run into the building when the bomb ticked off. The building exploded and the rumbles flew in the sky then fell to the gorund again. The flame was so huge and the area was scattered with pieces of rumbles. 

Nathan who ducked his body down to the ground looked up to the detsroyed building which is now on fire. His mouth wide agape. He felt his heart sank to his knees. No...! His mind shouted.

He ran towards the building. His mind raced, parying that Donghae woill be safe. His heart prayed to the God that he never believed. Please.....

As he was about to run through the fire, a hand grabbed his body and pulled him back. It was Jong Suk. Jong Suk had to really exert his force to the fullest to stop Nathan from killing himself. Without his willing, Nathan's  eyes became red and b with tears. His mind played flashbacks. 

Flashback (Scene 1)

Nathan and Donghae ran around the field, trying to test and prove who was the fastest among both of them, but being the best among both, Nathan won. Nathan has always been the best; the best runner, the best player, the best student, the best sniper, the best killer, the best spy agent. But there was one thing that he lacked in, and that was patience. And he still is impatient as ever. Donghae seemed to be the best in that aspect. Nathan was not a person of much affection; and he still is; but he did have a soft spot for someone. A girl that captured his heart. The only girl in this world that made his heart beat like crazy. 

Flashback (Scene 2)

Donghae helped Nathan to confess to the girl. They were still high school students and don't get them wrong. They were the coolest students in that school. Everyone knew their names, every girl wanted to date them. But that one particular girl caught Nathan's attention. She was quiet, she was beautiful yet stubborn. 

Flashback (Scene 3)

They were training for NIS. Nathan didn't have any parents so on New Year's Day, Donghae brought Nathan to meet his parents. This was his infiniti times that he met Donghae's parents. His parents treated Nathan like their own child. They wre very close to each other; sharing secrets that only both of them knew. 

FLASHBACK SCENES END

Nathan looked at the building. His face astonished, trying to register what just happened. His body frozen. At the same time, the Director's back-up team arrived and held them as hostage. The director, Kim Shim Young, who teamed up with Ian Hunts, planned to take down NIS and Jessica Jung. Why Jessica? She is his best agent, solving each mission swiftly and clean, right on time and smooth. When Jessica quit, Ian was facing numerous threats from numerous enemies. He knew all too well that Jessica will be one of them, if not is. 

In Donghae's House

Jessica was sitting on the couch.... staring into blankness. Sungmin stood near the door, his eyes close and his hands in his pockets. Jessica turn around to look at him. 

"Have a seat..." she said. 

Sungmin opened his eyes and smiled. "It's okay ma'am. I am here to fulfill my duty..."

Jessica scoffed silently. She turned around and stared at the wall. She felt extremely lonely and cold. She hugged herself and closed her eyes. 

Suddenly, she felt something was wrong. The atmosphere surrounding was awkward and... tense. She turned over to Sungmin who was now had his gun in his hands and his eyes searched for fault and strangers. Sungmin looked at Jessica and pointed to the door with his head. Jessica understood it immediately. It means that there were someone outside the door. Jessica reached her right hand to her back pocket, grabbing her dagger. She stood behind the door, his body crouched a bit. Jessica counted the seconds in her heart. 

1...

2...

3...

Baam!! Somebody knocked the door down. Without a warning, Jessica punched his face when he ambushed in. Sungmin headlock him to the ground. Jessica peeked her head outside, observing the surrounding. She saw no one. She stepped in and crouched to the floor. She pulled his head to her direction and she saw his face. She knew who he is immediately. A spy working under Ian Hunts. She gritted between her teeth. This is not good. 

Jessica stood up and turned around when something hard and long hit her head. She fell to the ground. The hit must have been really strong because Jessica was fainting. Her vision blurred but she could hear voices. She couldn't make out what they were saying or shouting but she felt somebody lifted her. She didn't know what happened to her but she has lost all her strength to fight back. Suddenly, everything turned dark. 

Jessica felt dizzy. She tried to open her eyes but she was out of strength. She felt her hands being tied to something metallic, like a metal pole or a chair. Her head was laid on something cold. She fought to open her eyes but she failed. She didn't even have the strength to breath properly. Air was running thin in her lungs. 

"Wake up.. sunshine!" She heard someone greeted her. 

"Wakey wakey..." that person continued.

Jessica slowly opened her eyes but her sight was still blurry. 

"How was the sleep, sleeping beauty..." She felt a hand touched her face. 

She growled but she couldn't hear her voice. Jessica slowly lifted her dizzy head up, with so much effort. When she finally straightened her back, she tried to clear out her vision. She was in this windowless, metal grey room. Her hand tied to a chair, her feet free. She felt something hot and metallic in and guessed that it was her blood. 

Jessica tried to remember what happened. She recalled someone ambushed into Donghae's house, her being hit and her fainted. 

After a few minutes of silent, Jessica could see clearly. But she didn't recognize the person in front of her.

"Well hello there beauty..." that disgusting man said. 

Well hello there ugly face, Jessica mind replied. Her eyes were icy cold. 

She turned to her right and saw two men lying on the floor, bleeding. She didn't recognize them at first but looking at one of the men's outfit, she was positive that that person is Sungmin. The guy beside him... is it Donghae..? She truly hoped so.  Then, that person stirred and she clearly could see his face. But his face wasn't the face she was hoping to look at. It was Nathan. So where is Donghae?

"I found this CD in that man's backpack..." that ugly face guy pointed towards Nathan, "Let's see..."

He walked towards a DVD player and inserted the disc. He the TV and the CD started to load. Then, on the screen, she saw a desk and a chair. Then slowly, she saw a pair of legs and then that person in that video sat on his chair and he is... Donghae..!

The Video

"Hey..." Donghae said. 

"I'm not sure if you would get this tape, Jessica but if you do that means that couldn't make it out alive." Noooo... Don't... 

"I just wanna tell you that I love you..." Donghae chuckeld, "I still remember what you wore when we first met..."

Tears started to brim in Jessica's eyes. 

"I wanted to protect you... but I failed in so many ways... given that I am a spy as well... that made me a horrible person..."

"I am sorry if I ever made you cry... hurt you... or offend you because I never meant to... you are my weakness..."

"My addiction... Trust me I went crazy... went I had to leave you for Cuba.." Donghae chuckled again. 

"I never said this to you before in person and I regret it... because the truth is I miss you even when you are in my arms..."

"I miss you even when I kiss you... I miss you even when we make love...."

"When I'm gone Jess...." No please don't say that... Please Donghae.... don't.... Jessica heart cried. Tears streamed down her face. 

"When I'm gone.... please move on... Find a good man and start a new life.... I am so sorry if I ever wasted the your past years spending time with me... waiting for me... yearning for me...." 

"But always know that I always... love you.."

"I'm gonna miss you so bad.... babe...."

"I love you forever sweetheart..."

"Till death do us part... honey..."

"I love you... darling.."

Then the video ended. 

Then, the ugly face man loaded another disc. On the screen, she saw a buliding, an empty building. Then, a group of black-suited men walked out of a helicopter and two SUV vans.

Jessica squinted her eyes. In the video, a man that looks familiar to her; he was walking towards the camera. As the man walked closer, Jessica soon to realize who he is... Donghae..  Then, the screen turned black then the video reappeared again. This time, Minho was lying in Jongsuk's hands. Then, they started to evacuate the place. But Jessica didn't see Donghae ran out of the building. 

Jessica looked at Sungmin and Nathan. Could it be....?

The camera zoomed into each and everyone of them who had evacuated the building but Donghae's face wasnSuddenly, the building exploded. Jessica's jaw dropped, wide agape but then again, her voice didn't seem to find its release. No...!!! Please... not him...!

Jessica was crying but her voice didn't seem to find its strength. She felt her limbs went weak. Every part of her seemed immobile. Even she felt her brain stopped processing information. She was flabbergasted. She couldn't registered what she just heard and saw... How could he leave me like this....? When I still need him....

"Your husband is such a sweet talker... or shall I say was a sweet talker..." the ugly face man said. Jessica felt her heart was about to burst. 

Suddenly, the alarm went off. "They're here..." Sungmin suddenly spoke. 

So he's not dead yet.... huh... Jessica thought. 

She heard Nathan chuckled. They''re not dead yet. 

Jessica felt a light of hope but it died immediately when she remembered that Donghae is no longer here.... in this world...

NIS back-up team ambushed the building and rescued Jessica, Donghae and Nathan. Jessica cut the ropes that binded her to the chair. As she was about to ran to the door, a man suddenly jumped in front of her and shoved a knife towards her. Luckily, she avoided it and kicked his chin. Jessica stepped on his chest with her right leg and put weight on it, making the man to groan in pain. Then, she kicked his face with her left leg, causing to break his neck. Jessica crouched and grabbed his gun from the holster around his waist. Then, she went to find the ugly face man. She walked through the fighting men, punching and kicking her enemies, trying to save NIS' spies. Although she is not a NIS spy, Jessica felt gratitude towards them. They have save her life and some of them die. Not to mention Donghae. 

She was walking down the hallway when she saw a looming figure at the corner of her eye. Jessica smirked and turned to her left. She walked a few steps and stopped right in front of the ugly face man. She spun her gun in her finger and smirked. She looked at her gun, "Tonight will be your last..."

That man scoffed. "Well then pretty.. don't you wanna know my name first.... or you know, we could upgrade it to the next level... to the bed.."

Jessica looked from the gun to the man in front of her. Her stare sharp and cold. The man felt a little bit scared but managed to hide it quickly. Then, Jessica pointed the gun, levelling it to his head. "Well, I don't like names now..."

Then, she shot him, the bullet pierced through the crown of his head. Blood splattered on the wall and Jessica smirked. This was her first time killing a person while looking at him right in the eye. Jessica turned around and walked out of the building. She despised this place, this moment, this feeling. Tears rolled down her cheeks; she despised this too. She brought her hand and wiped the tears with the back of her hand. Then, Nathan walked towards her and hugged her out of the sudden. He whispered something in her ears that made Jessica's eyes widened. 

Together, they walked out of the building while Nathan explained something to her. Sungmin also joined the crowd. Then, they hopped on the helicopter and Jessica saw Jong Suk. His eyes were sad and red. Jessica looked at the back and saw a coffin. She smiled. Then she looked back at Jong Suk. She placed her hand on his and smiled to him. Jong Suk replied with a bitter smile. 

"I just have to figure out how to tell Hwa Young this...." Jong Suk said. 

Jessica leaned back to her seat. She smiled as tears streamed her cheeks. She closed her eyes and smiled. Why..? Because she is not alone. 

After a few hours, they arrived somewhere very far from Seoul, very far from the city. Jessica hopped off and she saw large paddy fields right in front of her eyes. The wind blew through her hair and she let it covered half of her face. The time is almost 6 PM but the sun is still shining. Feeling eyes on her, she turned to her right and saw the person that she just needed to see now. The person that she just wanted to hold right in her arms and whisper words of love. She imagined herself running towards the person with open arms but she just stood still, feet planted deep in the ground. She couldn't help but smile. That person walked closer towards her, closer and closer, until they were inches apart. Again, for the umpteenth time, she cried. But those tears were tears of joy and happiness. 

"Just how many times have I ever cheated death...?" That person chuckled. 

Jessica smiled and said, "Donghae..."

Donghae looked at her in the eyes and and wrapped his arms around his waist. "Yes. I am here... Mrs Lee.."

Jessica stood still, expressionless. Realizing this, Donghae hugged her tightly in his arms. "I am here... This is me..." he whispered. 

Jessica leaned her head closer to his clothed shoulder and kissed it. 

"Please... never do that again..." Jessica said. 

FLASHBACK

A Day Before The Explosion

"Someone will have to scarifice or else.... they will know that this is a distraction..." Sungmin voiced out his opinion. 

Jong Suk ducked his head down. He couldn't die now... when his wife is pregnant with his first child. Donghae didn't say anything. 

"I volunteer..." Minho said while raising his arm. 

"Hyung...!" Jong Suk and Nathan said in shock. 

"I volunteer and that is the final decision.." Minho said, this time his voice was stern. 

Donghae, Nathan and Sungmin both looked at Jong Suk. 

"Hyung..." Sungmin tried to talk it out with Minho. 

"What's next?" Minho interrupted.

"Are you sure 'bout this?" Nathan asked.

"I bet my life on it..." Minho said, his eyes shone determination. 

Jong Suk pulled his brother aside. 

"Hwa Young....?" Jong Suk asked. 

Minho shook his head then looked at his brother. He put his hand on his shoulder and smiled. 

"I wouldn't do this if I know she loves me..."

On The Day of The Explosion

In The Helicopter

"If I don't make it...." he said to Nathan, "give this to her..."

Nathan looked at his best friend. He was stunned, nevertheless, he took the CD and kept it safe in his bag. Nathan and Donghae talked for a while. Nathan nodded at Donghae's instructions. 

"Please..! Keep her safe..!" Donghae said, while putting his hand on Nathan's arm. 

"Don't worry bro... You can trust me.." Nathan reassured him by putting his arm on his shoulder. 

"This is my plan..." Donghae leaned closer to his friend. 

"Before the bomb goes off, I will get out of the building, just the other way... I will make it seem to them that I am killed in that explosion. Then you guys will have to get caught. Jessica will be caught as well with Sungmin. The back-ups will rescue you. Until then, keep her safe."

END OF FLASHBACK

Donghae was still hugging Jessica tightly. They both kept quiet, enjoying the moment. 

"I'm sorry about Minho.." Jessica finally broke the silence. 

Donghae nodded and pulled away only to caress her soft, milky cheeks. 

"It's about to get dark... let's get inside..." Donghae said. 

Then they walked towards a small wooden house. There is where they will be living for a while. 

"We will stay here for quite sometime until I could get you out of the country safely.." Donghae said. His lips moved on her temple. 

"Out of the country...? Where?"

"France... Paris... City of Love..." Donghae said while looking at the sky. 

Jessica couldn't help but chuckle at his ideas. She liked it though. But she like Seoul as well. 

"I wish we could come back here once in a while... This is where we come from..." Jessica said while holding his had that was on her shoulders. 

Donghae nodded and they both walked into the house. That night, they switched off the lights and made love in the dark.
