The girl smiled and extended her hand towards Tiffany.

“Sorry for making you wait. I’m Krsytal Jung. Nice to meet you.”

“Do you want to order first? It’s on me.” Tiffany shyly smiled. She’s meeting the woman who holds pertinent information about her heart and she can’t help the happiness whirling like a vortex of tsunami inside her.

*Flashback to five years ago*

“Hello? May I speak to Ms. Tiffany Hwang please” a raspy voice asked at the other side of the line.

“It’s five am in California and this person’s calling me. Great.” Tiffany rambled in her head as she lazily tried to get up. She had been working on her art exhibition for one of the biggest galleries in New York and thus, sleep is something she rarely has these past few days.

 “Hi! This is Tiffany. What can I do for you?” she sleepily asked while rubbing her eyes.

“Sorry for calling you on a very ungodly hour but we have received an urgent news a while ago. We finally have an organ donor… for your heart.”

Tiffany hurriedly went to Korea to undergo a cardiac surgery five years ago. After years and years of praying, a compatible donor emerged. She felt sorry for the unknown person who gave her this precious heart because that meant he or she must have died and yet Tiffany can’t help but feel a sense of overflowing gratitude in her veins.
