Chapter One – New Life

Yoona fidgeted restlessly on the king-size, cozy bed whilst glancing to the door for the umpteenth time as she didn’t know what to do when the guy who had been her husband for almost two hours, Luhan, barged into the bedroom to change his tuxedo into casual clothing. He might feel uneasy wearing the formal outfit for a quite while. They had arrived at their new condominium which was given as a wedding present from Luhan’s parents after the wedding ceremony had officially ended.

“Uhm, what should I do when he comes in? Should I talk to him or just stay silent?” she muttered under her breath warily. For God's sake, she was feeling utterly awkward as she was going to live with him in this condominium starting today and the next day onwards.

Letting out a heavy sigh, she adjusted her seat on the bed to a comfortable position and added, “I guess I have to talk to him even for a slight though I’m feeling utterly awkward with him. I don’t want him to label me as a rude girl.”

Then, Luhan’s vision uninvitedly knocked into her mind when she had seen him for the first time during the wedding ceremony this last evening. No doubt her parents and other people said that she was a lucky girl to have Luhan as her husband. Luhan was dubbed to be a well-mannered, loving and sensible guy.

Xi Luhan.

She emmited a sigh audibly again, thinking that marrying a guy whom she had never seen before just for the sake of her parents was totally a superb crazy idea. Who knew she had now been a wife though she was still young at her age, 24. Truthfully, she had once against her parents when they had chosen Luhan as her future husband just because Luhan was their best friends’ son and they were really yearned to have him as their son-in-law.

Even though Yoona had shown her disagreement towards their decision, they hadn’t given up to persuade her practically every day to accept Luhan as her future husband. Yoona had fired them with bunch of brilliant excuses to refuse  their decision but still, they didn’t give a single care to any of it. Excusing them by saying she was still young to get married at her age and yet, she wanted to focus on her modelling career, didn’t help her anything.

At last, she gave up and accepted their decision after much contemplations. Her parents’ decision was always deemed as the right one, which was why she was sure Luhan was the perfect companion for her despite the fact that she already had Kai in her life and she had to let him away from her life and start anew with Luhan, her husband that she should shower with love from now on although it was indeed going to be pretty difficult.

But when thinking  about this matter over and over, it was all her mistake of not telling her parents that she wasn’t single and already in a relationship with Kai or else, they would not be talking about this marriage and she would not be thrown into this arranged marriage.

Kai was totally taken aback when she abruptly wanted to break up of this relationship which had been built since a year ago. He just couldn’t digest the fact that the girl that he dearly loved to death will get married soon and the bridegroom definitely wasn’t him. It was someone else.

“What?” Kai nearly choked when he was sipping his ice lemon tea upon hearing her unexpected remark. His pair of eyes were literally bulged out like a frog’s. “W-what, Yoona? Are you telling me a joke?” He managed to let out a plain laugh as he supposed Yoona might have joked about what had she remarked just now.

“Kai, listen here.” She huffed an exasperated sigh and eyed him intensely. “I’m not joking, though, and this is indeed true! I’m getting married in two weeks time.”

Abruptly, he stopped his laugh and stared at Yoona, wanting confirmation. “Are you serious, Yoona?”

“Yes, Kai. I’m dead serious.” She merely sighed.

“With whom?”

“I don’t know him nor see him but my parents said his name is Luhan-ssi.”

“So..” He fiddled the edge of the dining table with his fingers and continued, “This is an arranged marriage by your parents, huh?”

“Obviously.” She took a small sip of her fresh orange and eyed him again. “Don’t you think it’s weird when I said I’m going to get married  even though I already have you, Kai?”

“Uhm, yes. It’s weird,” he replied in response. “So, are you up for the wedding, Yoona?”

“I guess I have to, Kai.” She nodded her head and emitted a sigh for the thousandth time. “It was my parents’ decision, after all, and I know my parents’ choice  is always right.”

“Could you just say to them that you don’t want to get married with him because you’ve already had me, Yoona?” He breathed out a heavy sigh and proceeded, “Plus, you’re still young, Yoona.”

“No, Kai,” she said a reply whilst shaking her head feebly. “I can’t do that. I just don’t want to hurt their fragile hearts...”

“Then,” he trailed off with an audible sigh. “What should we do now, Yoona?” He seemed had run out on how to save their relationship. He loved Yoona to death and he didn’t want to lose her just because of their parents' sake. But it seemed like there was no hope on how to fix the matter.

“Break up.”

***

Yoona glanced at her cell phone laying on the bed beside her as her cell phone was ringing aloud through its speaker. Then, she grabbed it and abruptly looked at the screen to know who was the caller.

Kai is calling...

She couldn’t help but sigh again and again. Kai had called her once again tonight. It was his ninth call as of today but she didn’t take any of it. She wanted to completely slip out about Kai from her mind. None of his will remain in her mind even the slightest thing ever.

Somehow, she could breath out a sigh of relief as Kai didn’t show up during the wedding ceremony even though she had sent the wedding invitation card through his best friend, Kyungsoo, last week. If Kai were to show up during the wedding ceremony, she didn’t think she would have the strength to proceed  the wedding as the latter would mentally disturb her with his presence. Luckily, he didn’t think to show up today.

She immediately took the initiative to reject his call and promptly turned off her cell phone to avoid him from calling her again.

When she was about to lay on the bed as tiredness suddenly seeped past her body, there was a loud knock coming through the door. “May I come in?”

“S-sure. You may come in,” she replied nervously with thumping heart. She couldn’t help but think about being alone with her husband in their bedroom.

Upon her approval, he pulled the door knob sluggishly and soon, the door was unlocked and she could explicitly watch him walking towards his luggage in front of the bed. Then, he casually took off his blazer, unbu
