“What the hell?!” You exclaimed, pulling your car to the side of the road.

“Hmm~?” Kyung asked, opening his door and looking back. “Uh oh… We have a flat tire…”

You groaned at his statement and popped the trunk, climbing out of the car; Kyung soon followed suit, turning on your hazard lights. Looking into the trunk, you threw a string of curses, all directed at your siblings.

“Why, why did she take out the spare ing tire?!” You yelled, anger and irritation consuming you. Kyung walked behind you, wrapping his arms around you and resting his chin on your shoulder. Sighing deeplyyou leaned back against him, your eyes fluttering shut.

“How did we get into this situation again? Oh. That’s right.”

-flashback-

“Annyeong, Omma~” You answered your phone. You mother began complaining about how you never called her anymore and blah blah blah.

“Nae, nae. Mianhae.”

“English please.” You mom said, causing you to sigh.

“Hehehe… Right. Sorry Mom. I’ve just been really… busy.” You said, looking at your boyfriend’s peaceful face as he slept.

“…..So I’m flying the two of you out here for a week.” You snapped back into the conversation.

“Wha          ~?”

“Are you ing kidding me? I said, that since I never seem to see or hear from you anymore and I, nor the rest of your family, know anything about that suspicious- boyfriend of yours, I’m flying the two of you out here for a week.” She said irritated. You sighed at your Mother’s stubbornness, knowing there was no changing her mind and that she probably already purchased the tickets.

“Alright, alright. I’m assuming your already bought the tickets so when do we leave?” You asked, not worried about Kyung’s schedule. They were on break for the next few months, so you had nothing to worry about there. Now you only had to worry about introducing Kyung to your weird, crazy- family.

“Monday (it’s Saturday now).Your plane leaves at noon. I’ll be picking you up from the airport so don’t worry about any of that. And the two of you will be staying here at the house.” You sighed and agreed, recording the details into your brain to tell Kyung. Hanging up the phone, you snuggled closer to his warmth, soon falling asleep.

-end flashback-

When you told Kyung about the sudden trip, you were surprised to see him excited.

“Oh~ I can’t wait to meet your family!” He had exclaimed, a wide smile on his face.

  “Oh~ just you wait…”

Pulling out your phone, you clicked on your mom’s contact, holding the metal to your ear and hearing the music, signaling the call went through.

“Hello? Where the hell are you? Everyone has been waiting for 45 minutes.”

You explained the situation to her and she sighed. The two of you talked for a few more minutes before she hung up. You leaned against the car and felt the heat of the sun warm your skin to the point where you were sweating. Looking down at your short jean shorts and thin tank top, you wondered what the exact temperature of the day was.

“It’s so hot~” Kyung said, walking until he was standing in front of you. He leaned forward and kissed you, his hands going on either side of you; you were trapped. Kissing him back softly you fisted your hands in his shirt, pulling him closer. After a minute he pulled away, his hands going to his shirt and tugging it slowly over his head. your lips as you stared at his toned body, you kissed his lips again; pulling away you stared into his eyes. Jumping up you wrapped your legs around him, pressing your bodies together.

“I love you….” He whispered against your lips. A smiled tugged at your lips.

“I love you too…..”

“It’s about time! I thought you were going to ditch us!” You father said, standing to hug you tightly. You smiled and took turns hugging your family, your mind practically being on autopilot as you repeated the same things.

‘I’m fine.’

‘It’s so good to see you too!’ or, ‘I missed you too!’

And of course, ‘Yes that is my boyfriend…’

When you finally done, you sat down beside Kyung and laced your fingers with him. He smiled at everyone in the room before standing and bowing slightly.

“Hello. My name is Kyung Park. It’s a pleasure to meet you all.”

Some of your family members smiled at his politeness while others narrowed their eyes at him in suspicion. You nodded your head slightly, already expecting this reaction.

Throughout the rest of the day you and Kyung talked with your family, telling them about your lives back in Korea and how your relationship started. The usual. It started getting late and most of your family had to go home, so you hugged them tightly and wished them good health. They stared at you strangely, not used to the Korean formalities. You laughed lightly and moved upstairs to look at your old room. Kyung, however, remained downstairs with your Mom, John (your stepdad), and your Dad. He looked around nervously before making eye contact with the three of them.

“Sirs, Ma’am…I would like to ask you something…”

“Well come on, spit it out.” Your Dad said, taking a drink from his beer can. He took a deep breath and looked up, confidence on his face.

“I would like to ask for your daughter’s hand in marriage.”  “What the hell?!” You exclaimed, pulling your car to the side of the road.
