"Los Angeles"
Heaven's Disaster"Baby why don't you live a little?" a familiar voice whispered in my ear.
"You know I can't be doing these things," I said, "I'm not one of your kind."
"Come on baby," he said, "Do it for me."
I looked at his brown eyes, hesitating.
"I love you," he kissed my lips softly, "Do it for us."
"Okay," I said.
A piercing sound woke me up. My phone was ringing.
"Yeoboseyo?" I answered with a sleepy, husky voice.
"Happy Birthday!" I smiled as I realized it was Taemin.
"Thanks," I managed to croak out.
"Were you sleeping?" his voice grew wary.
"Um, no," I lied, "I just have a slightly sore throat."
"Oh that's horrible," he said, "Well I hope you have a nice birthday. Are you sure you can't go out with me?"
"Nope," I said, "Sorry."
"Me too. Bye," he hung up and I felt kind of bad.
I sat there and wondered what he was doing right now.
And why did I even dream about him?
Horrible way to start off my birthday.
I stretched my limbs and yawned on my bed.
I was contemplating whether or not to sleep some more, but he kept appearing in my head.
Over and over and over again.
It's crazy how after what he did, I still feel queasy and vulnerable to him.
My phone rang again. I cleared my throat and answered, "Yeoboseyo?"
"Yah! How long are you going to keep me waiting?!"
Instantly, my breathing got sharper, and my sleepiness went away.
I shot up on my bed, "What do you mean?"
"I've been waiting here forever!" Minho yells again.
"What? What time is it?" I frantically search around the room for something that tells time.
"You were supposed to meet me here nearly two hours ago!" he clarifies.
I gasp and hold my hand to my mouth. Did I really sleep that much?
"Minyoung? Are you there?" he grew wary of my silence.
"Um, Minho," I bit my lip hesitantly, "Are you mad?"
"Are you crazy? How can I be mad? It's the middle of winter, and I've been waiting for my guardian angel to appear in this freaking cold weather! It's been like two hours and I can barely feel most of my skin!" he said.
I flinched at the sarcasm in his voice, "Mianhae."
"Just come down," he said, "I'm waiting at the lobby."
"Oh," I said, "Well I just woke up."
"What?!" his voice raised at the end.
"Just come up to my apartment," I said, "I'll leave the door open for you. I'll shower now."
"Okay," was the last thing he said before he hung up.
I quickly ran to the front door and unlocked it. Then ran even quicker to the bathroom.
After a showering and getting ready, I went outside of my room and into the living room.
But Minho wasn't there. I walked around and found him in the kitchen with a piece of toast in his mouth.
"Are you hungry?" I asked. He smiled and nodded.
I pointed to a seat by the kitchen counter and he sat down.
I began to look around for something quick and easy to make. I think I'll go with stir fry.
"Would you like some tea?" I asked.
"Yes, please," he said.
A while later, I served us both some food and tea.
"Why do you always drink tea?" he asked before he took a mouth full of food.
"I don't always drink tea," I argued.
He gave me a challenging smile. He got up and sauntered to one of my cupboards.
Boxes of tea bags and tea herbs were revealed.
"Okay, so maybe I drink a lot of tea," I admitted.
"Why?" he asked again.
The only person I know that drinks a lot of tea came to my mind, "I think I got it from my mother."
His eyes lit up in interest, "Your mother? What's she like?"
"My mom is nice. She acts motherly towards everyone. She's a big tea drinker and she likes hosting events," I said. This might be a good time to bring up the topic.
"Hosting events?" he asked.
"Yes, like tea parties, fundraisers, holiday parties, and her favorites," I breathed in deeply before saying the last one, "Birthday parties."
Minho's eyes narrowed in thought. Then they widened, "You're going back?"
"Um, just for tonights party," I said.
"Oh, really? When will you leave?" he asked.
"A couple of hours," I admitted.
We ate in silence. This was it. I had to ask him now.
"Will you come with me?" I asked.
He looked up at me with a confused face, but then his eyes widened when he realized what I was asking.
"What? Are you serious?" he asked.
I nodded.
"No way," he said, "I can't do that!"
"Please!" I begged, "I really don't want to go alone."
He stared at my puppy-eyed expression, "Do you think they'll be okay? You know, with me being the son of a demon and stuff."
I sighed, "Minho, that's not all of you. You're so much more than that."
He crossed his arms reluctantly.
"They'll be fine, Minho," I reassured.
"Okay," he said, "I'll go."
I beamed at him and checked the time.
"We have a bit of time left," I said, "What do you want to do?"
"It's cold outside," he said.
"Okay, we don't have to go outside," I said, "How about we watch a movie?"
"What movies do you have?" he asked.
"Taemin bought me the Harry Potter movies," I said.
"Taemin?" he asked a bit appalled.
"Yes," I responded, "For my birthday."
He pursed his lips, "Right. Before I forget," he pulled out a small pink bag out of nowhere, "Happy Birthday."
"For me?" I asked a bit surprised. He nodded.
I took the bag and saw what was in it. It was a very pretty perfume.
"Wah!' I admired the pretty bottle.
I turned around carefully in my hands and read the English script, "Angel."
"It reminded me of you," he admitted. I smiled at his comment.
I felt completely smitten with this Minho.
"Thank you," I smiled sincerely.
"So lets go watch that movie then," he got up and went to the den.
I walked behind him and got the movies from a drawer in the living room.
"Which one should we watch?" I asked.
"The first one I guess," he shrugged.
I popped in the first movie and we sat down to watch it.
Around the time where Harry won his first Quidditch game, I got a message on my phone.
Unknown: Your highness, you're parents are requesting your presence at this time.
Minho was very into the movie. Pity that I had to interrupt that.
I nudged his shoulders, "We have to go."
"Ah really? Okay," he got up and I stopped the movie.
"So how are we going to get there?" he asked.
I smiled at him and faced the empty space on my other side.
I held both my palms out and chanted "Portal Angelorum."
Almost instantly, a big blue orb of light about the size of Minho appeared.
"That's how," I said.
Minho stepped forward and put his arm inside the portal.
"What's on the other side?" he asked curiously.
"Do you trust me?" I asked.
He nodded. I smiled mischievously and pushed him all the way through the orb.
Then I followed.
Minho balanced himself in the common room of the palace.
"Where are we?" he asked.
"Home" I beamed.
