Chapter 4 -- Friends
Mind Captivity
She paced up and down her room as panic spread through her limbs. Sunggyu was stirring in his slumber again as he finally tossed and turned.
This was something new to her, she didn't know what this meant to him, what was this new development?
Did he want to wake up because of her? But she had been there for him for the past two years, why didn't he wake up then?
Perhaps it was someone else... She had heard the stories of the Princes of Inspirit.
He had to find his Destined before his 25th birthday and it was coming up.
After that day, she could claim him, he would need her to keep his royal status.
Only then could she call him truly hers.
She knew this slumber was a false pretense, this was the only way she could have him.
But she also needed to start worrying about the land.
Her magic, overall, was starting to wear. She could feel it, her control was weaning slowly.
It was subtle but the darkness that corrupted the land was starting to lose its battle.
As if it had a new reason to fight back.
As if she was returning to them.
Soyu knew that she couldn't let that happen, everything she had gained came from her power.
And if that was failing her, she would have nothing.
"Bora unni!" She whiningly called out.
A raven-haired woman walked through the door to greet her.
"Yes, my darling?" Bora said.
Soyu pouted, "Help me."

Seomin returned to their cave, she had let the doctor go but he has to find his own way through the forest.
She wouldn't help him that much, that would be far too easy.
Dongwoo and Hoya were already devouring some food and stashing as much as they could in the cave.
"Hey! Save some for me!" She yelled at them before sprinting to grab some meat of her own.
The two boys chuckled at her antics before showing the plate that they had already set aside for her.
"We would never forget about your food." Dongwoo told her.
Seomin smiled as she took the plate, "Thank you very much."
Hoya poked her arm and got her attention, "Where have you been?" He asked.
Seomin shrugged, "You know, around. Not anywhere in particular." She said.
Dongwoo put his arm around her, "Such a liar. She went to the city to try it out but she ended up coming back to the forest." He said.
Hoya chuckled again, "Not for you?"
Seomin nodded, "Definitely not for me. At all. I couldn't stand it. The people, the rules." She shuddered.
"You know maybe having some rules wouldn't be so bad." Hoya pointed out.
Seomin threw him a look, "No, it's not. The rules ." She made a face of disgust.
"Stop being like that. I just meant like nomads live by rules too. First come, first serve. The people in the city just have more. And they do have some good ones." He said.
"Oh, really? Like what?" Seomin challenged.
"Like the law about not killing people. Don't you remember what happened to Ren after he upset Nana? She tortured him indefinitely and no one has seen him ever again. Everyone knows that it's because he's dead." Hoya replied.
Seomin bit her tongue before saying anymore, all the Nomads knew about Nana's temper and how she made all the boys that upset her disappear.
"Told you so." Hoya said, before stepping away quickly, so Seomin couldn't hit him.
"Come on, you two. The sun is going down. Let's sleep." Dongwoo interrupted before the two could get into another physical fight.
"Arasseo." The two children said together before lying down to sleep. Dongwoo grabbed Seomin again to prevent her from sleeping on the floor again.
"Good night." Hoya said quietly.
"Good night." Seomin replied.
